Effectiveness: They probably got 20% of the grime off my brick house before telling me it was not possible to get it any cleaner. On the sections that did get clean, e.g. bluestone elements, there are uneven spray patterns indicating that they didn't attempt to do everything they could. So I didn't ... and surely enough, despite my efforts to try and tidy up here and there, the mess built up. At first, I didn't really notice it, but then little by little, the place became unmanageable. It got to a point where I hated going home because I felt like I was walking into pigsty and it depressed me. After trying to ignore the issue, I reached a point where I decided I needed to do something because ignoring the problem was not going to fix it; and if I wanted to change the way I felt about my messy home, I needed to either spend the time cleaning or spend some money hiring a professional to help me. I'd never hired a professional cleaning service before and practically speaking, I initially had three concerns: (1) where do I find one? (2) can I even afford it? and; (3) can I find a trustworthy company where I feel safe entrusting them with my keys to come in and clean my place while I'm not home. As for my first question, I literally didn't know where to start. Eventually, I managed to find my way to Yelp and looked up services that are near me. I'm in Edgewater and based on my location, it recommended 4 places, so I requested a quote from all 4. Express Cleaning Team was the last to respond to my query but I'm really glad they did because it solved my second concern: cost. I originally had an idea of how much I wanted to spend but after receiving quotes from the first 3 services, I was left feeling disappointed because it was WAY beyond what I wanted to budget for a weekly appointment. It turned out that ECT's rates are so reasonable and affordable, my only regret is not having looked into this much sooner. All I had to do was to fill out their booking form on their website. Once I completed their dozen or so questions, I was quoted less than $100 a week to clean my two bedroom/one bathroom apartment. Now that I knew there was a service near my home that fit my budget, the only thing I had left to determine was whether I could trust them enough to give them a copy of my keys to clean the apartment when I'm at work. I wanted to make sure, so once I got an email confirmation from Jimmy, I asked him if it were possible to meet someone from the company on a weekend when I was home. Despite being outside of their business hours, his wife Fary graciously agreed to come by on Saturday to meet me and personally clean my apartment. I mean, how amazing and awesome is that?! It was her day off, but she still nonetheless took the time to come to my home just to meet me, give me the peace of mind, and did a truly AMAZING job. I didn't stay the entire time she was there but when I came home later that night, I was left speechless. I was so stunned and grateful for the care and attention that was clearly spent because everything was perfect. Honestly, it was like every little thing was carefully put in its place and every surface was expertly cleaned. You could easily tell how much care and attention was spent making sure I came home happy. If you're reading this review, you may be interested in hiring a cleaning service but have similar concerns about actually hiring one like I did. If so, I hope this helps in your calculus for reaching a decision. I was very pleased in my decision to hire ECT and I'm certain that going forward, I will actually want to come home instead on being depressed whenever I walk through my door.

In October, 2019, I wrote a glowing review for this cleaning service because Ava asked me to. The reason being, she had gotton some bad reviews and wanted to counteract them. As can be seen, I did so. This turned out to be a mistake on my part. Shortly after that, her cleaner mopped my floor and put a white rug down over the wet floor turning the rug dark. Ava was/is aware of my poor eyesight so all seemed to go well. After recent surgery, I was shocked to see the damage caused by her cleaner. Awful scratches on my black furniture because instead of lifting a lamp, the cleaner slid it causing this damage. The sofa is bald in many places because she used her vacuum ( I repeatedly requested she use mine because I didn't want anthing in my home that was being used elsewhere). on my sofa and I had an upholstry attachment. You don't use a floor attachment on expensive furniture. When I pointed these things out, without telling me she brought a different cleaner. This one smashed her vacuum into my sofa so hard, that I now have one square corner and one round corner. She takes no responsibility for any of this. She was not consistant with the day & time either. Kept changing my appointment when she got a new client. Additionally, she uses a Fort Lee address which is not true. The business is in Wallington, NJ. Her prices are high and the work ($35.00 per hour) was less than mediocre. I could go on but, hopefully I have gotten my experience across enough to warn others. Ava told me I should sue her. So....I suppose I have no choice. read more

I have been using Iva's cleaning service for almost two years! This is the first time I ever used a cleaning service and I am not sure why I went this long. Iva's team is extremely professional and does a fantastic job. We have never had one issue with anything going missing or being broken. I can smell my clean house from the basement. They always add cute little touches of how they place my kids toys, blankets on the couch and towels in the bathroom. My house seriously shines when I come home! Any time I want something added or done differently I just sent Iva a text and its done! I have several other friends that use cleaning services and they always say mine is OK but I seriously can't say enough! I have never seen such beautiful work done. I wish I could post before and after pictures! I own 9 pets and the amount of hair and dirt they were able to mop up was phenomenal! They even took out the garbage and washed my bookshelves. They made my bed!!! And they did all the glass and the windows. I called another business that's very well known and they wanted double the price. Not only was Iva the owner warm and an animal lover she felt like a friend! She also was honest by saying I only need cleaning once a month! How many business people would say oh no you need twice a month at least??? Nope. She said once would do it. Excellent Job! I could not be more satisfied. They worked with me to schedule a day and time after i had to cancel more then once. They came on time and got right to it. They cleaned everything in great detail. When done my place was absolutely spotless, They dusted my fans lights, and all the blinds. Every surface was pristine. They worked fast and efficiently and knocked out my entire place in just over an hour and I've not cleaned my 2 bedroom 1200 square foot apartment in almost 2 months! Their fee was extremely reasonable and earned a well deserved tip. I will 100% use them again and never ever go back to any large Merry Maid type outfit. Thank God I "Iva's Cleaning" found them. I found out at noon yesterday that my sister was being released from the hospital today after being in for 10 days with pneumonia. I called around frantically trying to find an agency to do a really good cleaning job of her small home and Iva called me back, listened to my story, and told me she was going to fit it in her schedule for late afternoon !! I described the home and what needed to be done, and was given an estimate. Two woman came at 5:15, I showed them around and told then I'd be back in the scheduled 2 hours. Iva and her crew are fantastic! I found her via the web after looking up local cleaning companies. This was some time towards the end of 2019. She had answered my call right away and scheduled an appointment the same week. They bring all cleaning products with them and completely transformed my apartment. My clothes were even in order!!!! Iva was wonderful, friendly, upbeat. We walked around the house and talked about what i needed done,and then she got to work. She's a hard worker and thorough. I felt she was totally trustworthy so i left for several hours to attend a class, and when i came home, she was still hard at work finishing up. I hired Zimick Bros cleaning for a deep clean of my home before I moved in. He took his time to explain everything in detail (about 45 min to an hour - single family 3500 sqft home) and even recommended things that I didn't think of that should be checked prior to move in date or monitored like gutters and air ducts. Marvin and his crew were prompt, they said arrival was for 8:00-8:30 and I think his team arrived a little after 8:00 as I was coming from my old apartment and everyone was already in my driveway! They also called a few time prior to confirm and remind. There were about 4 trucks in total and about 8-10 people and they did all the rooms, basements and garage and everything from the inside of my freezer and refrigerators, vacuuming the window treatments, getting the tile floors and baths sparkly clean. The garage and utility closet looked even better then when I first looked at the home. The Windows and skylights were crystal clear. Noam came around 9:30 to confirm that his team were in place and knew exactly what was needed in my home. Yes, they did a great job the filthy refrigerator and stove but as they were about done they started to work on the cabinets. It was only at the end that they showed me what was done. They removed grim but missed a few silverware drawers. The dispatcher had allotted 2 to 3 hours for the job even after I told him my tenants had trashed the place. The next day I call the rep and he sent me pictures of their work. He told me remember them for any additional work. 271 dollars later it was done. I might not use them again..... I'm being sarcastic.
