This…read moremid-Sept. day, Paul Russo and his TruClean crew came to our house and, as per his detailed itemized cost quote, performed their work. This started with cleaning all roof gutters and ensuring that all leaders and downspouts were not clogged by thoroughly flushing them. They then applied their chemical agent via spray method to kill any and all mold, mildew, algae and moss that was present on the cedar shingles. After a short period of time they used a wide spray power washing to rinse and flush all of the dead remains of that organic growth, as well as any tree sap from the roof. They also performed spot cleaning of selected areas of our stucco facades, masonry chimney and flagstone terrace where stubborn dirt had collected on the surface. They completed their work to my complete satisfaction in one day and cleaned up after themselves. All in all, once again, I can and do highly recommend TruCLEAN Wash for this type of roof cleaning, for cedar shingles, as well as slate and/or terra cotta roof tiles that become stained from mildew, mold, moss, sap and other tree droppings, as well as general air pollution. One can quickly tell that Paul and his team take pride in producing high quality workmanship to achieve the desired final results. My experience with them actually began years before my full roof replacement, when I had a leak that had been an ongoing problem for years. Other contractors were telling me I would need to replace my skylights and spend thousands of dollars. JKR came out, correctly identified where the water was actually getting in, and fixed the problem without trying to sell me work I didn't need. That repair never leaked again. They saved me thousands of dollars then, and their honesty was the reason they were the first people I called when my roof eventually reached the point that it truly needed to be replaced. The full roof replacement only reinforced how much I trust them. Joe was completely upfront about what my roof needed and what the job would cost. Their proposal included the extensive plywood replacement my roof required rather than giving me an attractive initial price and then surprising me with thousands of dollars in additional charges once the roof was opened. Their pricing was extremely fair and, more importantly, transparent. The skylights are another perfect example of the kind of company JKR is. This time, the two skylights really did need to be replaced, but the existing openings were not standard sizes. Custom replacement skylights would have been extraordinarily expensive. Instead of simply passing that enormous cost on to me, Joe and his team figured out a way to rework the openings so that standard-size skylights could be installed. That solution alone saved me thousands and thousands of dollars. It's exactly the kind of problem-solving and consideration for the homeowner's money that I have come to expect from them. The workmanship and work ethic of the entire crew were exceptional. Alberto and the crew were incredible. They were here every day, worked incredibly hard and often worked late. This was a major project, including replacing a tremendous amount of plywood, and they used high-quality materials throughout. They protected my property during the work and cleaned up meticulously, even coming inside to clean dust that had settled from all the work being done above. They were equally wonderful about the gutters. There was a particular issue with how the front of my house needed to drain, and I really did not want a downspout placed where the obvious solution would have put it. Rather than telling me that was simply how it had to be done, they listened to me, worked through the problem, and pitched everything properly so that it functioned without compromising the appearance of my house. But what distinguishes JKR most for me is trust. I have dealt with enough contractors to know how difficult that is to find. Joe and his team have had multiple opportunities over the years to tell me I needed expensive work, add costs once a project began, or take the easiest solution. They didn't. Instead, they have repeatedly found ways to save me money while still doing the job correctly and using quality materials. I have already recommended JKR to friends and family, and I will continue to do so. I honestly would not trust anyone else with my roof. If I could give them more than five stars, I would.

I called Somebody's Gotta Do It to get a quote to wash the siding of my house, get rid of moss…read morebuild up on my patio stone block flooring and the roof of my tool shed, which had accumulated moss. Patrick, the owner of the business, answered the call and listened to my requests. At the end of the phone call, he asked that I send him pictures of the areas that needed cleaning via text, and he can send back a quote via text withing one business day. I sent him photos of the areas that needed washing via text. Within a few hours, Patrick texts me a quote document with his company letterhead on it. The price for the 3 tasks notably lower than another quote I received from another powerwasher company. (As an aside, I found out from him that he is the only person in the business, so his overhead is much lower than many competitors. This helps keeps his prices low. Also, in case it is not obvious, most power washers have to connect to your external hose to access water. You are supplying the water, not the power washer.) I agreed to hire Patrick, and we set an appointment 10 days later with a time window. A few hours after agreeing to hire him, I realized I only texted him 2 sides of the house. I sent pictures of all sides of the house I wanted cleaned to make sure his quote covered that. Patrick replied that his quote covered the entire house siding, not just the pictures I initially sent. Very nice! Patrick texted me the day before the appointment to confirm. On the day of, he shows up within his time window. He was professional and courteous. We walked around the areas to be worked on, as I provided context that might have been missing from the photos. He saw one side of my house had some stone work instead of siding, and he said his quote will cover cleaning that; I was not expecting him to cover this part, but I am glad he did. Some small awning-like attachments on my side door and rear of the house would also be washed as part of the house quote. After the walkthrough, he provided some additional information about the work. He pointed out that some areas of the siding that have oxidized and have become slightly discolored and "shiny"; his washing can't fix that. For the moss build up on the tool shed, he will softwash it with a solution that will kill off the moss and turn it white. The moss will flake off on its own in a few months of rainfall. Otherwise, powerwashing the tool shed roof normally would damage its roof shingles. With those two items clarified, he got to work! He taped off external electrical outlets and a doorbell. He reminded me to close all the windows! Cleaning the house siding, tool shed roof, and the patio flooring took about 2.5 hours. After he was done, he called me to inspect the work and pay him. He was very thorough with his cleaning. Any algae buildup and stains on the house siding were gone. The patio flooring looked new again with the moss washed off. And, as expected, the moss on the tool shed roof had been "bleached" white and other parts of the roof cleaned up. All I have to do is wait for rain to do its thing on the dead moss. In addition, Patrick went above and beyond and washed a few areas adjacent to the work area, like a small section of my vinyl fence next to the patio and tool shed, so that was greatly appreciated. Overall, I am greatly satisfied with Patrick's work. You can definitely hire him for your powerwashing/softwashing needs.
