Dolmes, croquettes, chop salad, foggy ras

I love tapas and Itto's was amazing. I enjoyed the Moroccan style and could definitely taste the spices especially in the meatballs and lamb! We tried a variety of food from the dolmes to croquettes and all were exceptional. I had the foggy ras cocktail, which was served with smoke and although strong was super yummy! Also had fun spices and could taste the smoke at the back end! Will be returning :)

Tuesday night meal in West Seattle. Moroccan tapas restaurant. Real cute place and good offerings. We shared the tapas below: Dolmes, rice stuffed grape leaves -- real good, the creamy goat cheese with peppers and rice was super. Zaalouk eggplant with tomato spread on baguette -- this one was ok, the spread was cold and the flavors were ok compared to the rest. stuffed dates -- outstanding. The creamy goat cheese and balsamic reduction paired very well. Maakouda sliced potato cake - star of the night. Perfectly fried with a little heat Spicy Harissa Vegetables - mostly brussel sprouts with the red peppers and harissa. The brussels really needed the red peppers. Chicken Bastilla -- This was a great entree. The phyllo crust on the outside was done very well. The cinnamon, honey went so well with the chicken and almonds. you could taste every flavor. Moroccan meatballs was our last entree. The marina sauce was very good the meatball was pretty good. A nice restaurant and experience all together. Great place to go with a group and share.

One of the best meals I have eaten in years. I love tiny places with a huge heart. That is this place. We ordered quite a few things. I ate till I couldn't fit anything else in and I was wishing for more room. I would for back to Seattle just to eat here.

This is such a cute space with the Moroccan decor and candlelight. Food was delicious, I particularly enjoyed the beef tenderloin and moorish boquerones. Drinks left something to be desired, cocktail was one dimensional and lacked any sort of garnish, wines by the glass were disappointing as well.

Great visit and food! Our first dinner in Seattle. Hibiscus kombucha with a touch of pineapple and a raspberry shrub. Moroccan Lemon Chicken for which we requested extra bread to mop up the sauce! Squid steak.

11/10. From the food to the service, our time here was amazing. The dim lighting and cool music also created a nice ambiance. For food we ordered (1) scallops -- perfectly seared over a bed of corn salad. There were only 4 pieces so i would have still been hungry, had we not ordered more food. (2) beef tenderloin tapas -- served over a well balanced red wine reduction with roasted potatoes (3) berbere burger -- I have no idea what it was but the flavors were impeccable. Nothing we ordered was a miss. I was honestly so sad when we finished because I wanted just a little more to taste but was so full. Note: meal was shared between 2 people and was plenty.

I remembered going to Itto's years ago when I was in the area with a friend. My partner and I wanted to grab food after checking out Atstra Lumina and I remembered Itto's wasn't too far away. This place is perfect for someone who is a carnivore dating someone who is almost vegetarian. The tapas menu is laid out in sections for vegetarian and vegan, seafood, and meat. He ordered the Spicy Harissa Vegetable, Maakouda (Moroccan spiced potato cake), and Khoudra Burger, and liked them in this order. The Spicy Harissa Vegetables were a big hit, the table next next to us even commented on how good it was when it showed up. The Maakouda was also very savory, the Khoudra burger was kind of a miss. The flavor was alright but not as savory as the other items and it was falling part and definitely needed a fork and knife. I got the tenderloin as an entree and requested the potatoes on the side so my partner could have them. I ordered rare, and this was definitely rare, it was almost blue. This tenderloin competes with the best steak houses in Seattle, it was perfect. Perfect temp, amazing flavor, and I was surprised the demi was also on the side but then I could dip the tenderloin in as much as I wanted. The portions were great too, not too much or too little. The bar has chartreuse and he ordered a last word. I usually stick to tea or water but went for an NA shrub soda and it was delightful. We're not in West Seattle often but after rediscovering this gem I would like to come back more often.

This place took me back to my Spain trip. Great ambiance - perfect for a date night. Food served in small plates for sharing and pretty amazing. Each dish was unique and so flavorful. I loved everything we got maybe with the exception of the chocolate ice cream, just not used to the texture and not the typical chocolate flavor I would expect. But everything else was perfect. I also heard their paella is good. Definitely coming back to try that next time. This place is quite popular, we went after 8:30pm on a Sunday and there was still a line out there.

Great little spot, excellent food. The lamb skewers were incredible. If I wasn't so full I would have ordered more. The eggplant wrapped dates were excellent too, it was fun to try them since the dates I normally see (and make) are wrapped in bacon. It was very dark inside so the pic of the dates didn't work out. Great bar, lots of choices. They get very crowded, we couldn't call ahead or anything so had to leave a name and wait. It was ok, but if it was cold or raining that definitely wouldn't work well, the other menu items looked excellent, I would recommend going.

From the moment we arrived, the **host and servers were warm, welcoming, and very polished**. The service felt attentive without being intrusive, and the staff did a nice job keeping the evening moving at a relaxed pace. The Royal Feast included several dishes that were brought out over the course of the evening. We started with **cinnamon pastries**, which were warm and a nice way to begin the meal. The spread also included **couscous, rice, chicken with lemon, Italian-style chicken, lamb, and kebabs**. The portions were generous and worked well for sharing with a large group. One thing to note: **vegetarians don't have many options here**, so if someone in your group has dietary restrictions, it might be a bit limiting. The meal ended with **tea**, which was a pleasant way to wrap up the dinner. Part of the experience here is the **belly dance performance**, but it doesn't start until **after 6:30 pm**. If you're expecting dancing throughout the dinner, you might be disappointed. The performance itself was okay, but the dancer mostly performs in the center area rather than around the tables, so it feels a bit distant. Personally, I've seen more engaging belly dance performances elsewhere. Parking is something to plan ahead for. The restaurant **does not have its own parking lot**, so you'll need to rely on **Seattle street parking, nearby garages, or paid lots**. Like many parts of the city, you may also see a few tents from unhoused residents while walking to the restaurant. If you're familiar with Seattle, this isn't unusual. Overall, the experience was **fun for a group dinner and worth the price**, especially if you're looking for something a bit different with entertainment included. That said, the food and performance were **good but not quite top-tier**. Still, it made for an enjoyable evening with friends.

Highlights for me was that lamb tagine with a huge portion of lamb and the chicken tagine with lemon and olives. The flavors were really fresh and pleasant, though a pinch of salt could take them to the next level. We unfortunately didn't catch the belly dancer this time but has a really nice family meal here. The waiters were so friendly and quippy. Really enjoyed this unique experience.

My colleaguefriend found this place on Yelp and we Uber there. The area seemed sketchy and probably we would not want to walk around that area alone. The onwer told us he could not give us ticket for the transation due to someone had robbed the establishment recently and took the machine. The decor is very cute, love the lamps and the music is super happy and you feel like dancing there. However, the place is huge and we were only my friend and I, 2 other girls in a corner and a party of 3 at the other extreme of the lounge. Very desolated and I was wondering why there were not many people. Since I am not a hookah smoker was wondering if it is because of the quality of it or just because the area or just simply people don't go out Friday night. My friend ordered a frutal flavored hookah and explained the whole process to me and why now is fashionable to add something to make if cold. We ordered a tea pot to share and that was really nice. The owner was pleasant and attentive to our request to put Egyptian videos. We had a good night there.

Also, the hookah was wonderful, and the gentleman who was working came over periodically to check on and/or replace our coals. He also offered to change the music to whatever we wanted. Very kind! When my friend and I went the other week, we were the only 2 in there. I deducted one star only because we really wanted to sit at the purple couched, but they were reserved (even though there was nobody else there). But hey, maybe next time! Heads up - if you're not a member, there's an extra fee. Unfortunately I can't remember how much the fee was, and I wasn't told how much the membership price costs.

I haven't had much West African food in the past so when we were looking for some new food to try…read moreout over the weekend, we came across Bantaba. As other reviews state, this is kind of a strange restaurant that seems more like it's for regulars rather than new customers. There's no actual printed menu other than hints of a menu on the signboard above the register (and we confirmed this with the cashier). I guess this is to save on cost, which coincidentally also allows them to adjust pricing on the fly? There are photos posted of the menu from 2024, but my guess is those are of an old pre-COVID menu, given that the prices increased over 50% at this point. Per other reviews, dine-in orders are also packaged in takeout boxes and can take a variable amount of time to cook. We don't usually get takeout much, but decided to call in an order for this visit. This was at around 5PM on Saturday and we were promised a 30 minute wait. We arrived 30 minutes later, paid for the order, and it ended up taking about another 10 minutes. Not too bad. Benechin Beef ($18.99) - As I learned, benechin is essentially a different term for the more commonly known (at least in the US) jollof rice. In this case, the rice has a deep tomato and spiced umami that combines a pleasant saltiness with a heat level that builds and builds. It's topped with a small side of cabbage that seems to be stewed in the same spices as the rice. There's then a piece of yucca root, stewed but still rather toothsome with fiber strands all in one direction like muscle grains. For the beef, they include four pieces of thinly sliced barbecued meat. The meat is extremely flavorful with what seems to be a black pepper and allium based spice mixture. In terms of texture, it's quite tough and chewy, almost to the level of beef jerky. (4/5) Afra Lamb ($20.99) - This dish comes with a choice of rice or salad, not both as the older menu states. We went with the rice which comes in a smaller container and is a long grain rice cooked until perfectly fluffy. It's cooked with salt, which is something that I'm not used to. The larger container includes a mound of bone-in lamb meat doused in a savory and tangy mustard based sauce. The meat is a very interesting mixture of off-cuts, a combination of cross-cut ribs, shanks, lamb chops, and some random other cuts. The lamb is mostly bone in and there are tons of small bone shards all over the meat, making it a bit of a pain to eat. The meat isn't very gamey and all and is much more tender as compared to the beef jerky in the benechin. On top of the lamb, they include mustard infused softened onions and whole quick-charred onion rings, resulting in a still crunchy texture. They include some powdered dried chilis is a small pile hidden under the onions. Be careful - it's starts out smoky like paprika to start and the heat only starts to build after a couple of seconds. (4/5) Bantaba is a great place to try some new food. While it's not the most beginner friendly restaurant, it offers some flavors and dishes that are hard to find around Seattle.
