Decent place to get a variety of candy and gag gifts. Staff was very pleasant but overall it was just alright and overpriced.

I've literally never left a review for anything, but the customer service was so horrible tonight I needed to say something. As a customer who comes regularly to purchase movie candy and gifts I'm sad how down hill it's felt recently. There are polite ways to go about talking to a customer if you have that big of an issue. They have awesome gifts besides candy! Including toys and head massagers :) If you need a sweet and funny gift, you need to come here! They are conveniently located near the movie theaters for a quick treat. They have a huge variety of sweet candies. They have more things like gummy bears rather than chocolate. Though they do have chocolate with alcohol in them ;) You do have to be 21+ to buy them. I will definitely be coming back to get holiday gifts! read more

I'm not a middle of the road, 3 stars giving kind of woman. However, this store had a really cool talking Donald Trump pen, Donald Trump socks and Donald Trump sunglasses with hair mask. Plus, they had a Hillary punching bag and Hillary toilet paper. Other than that, I was appalled at the vulgar and crude "knick-knacks" strewn haphazardly among the shelves. In reality, and although the adult I know that I am hates to admit it, a candy store is for the children. I cannot believe they display sex games and have private part candies and small notepads that say "FUCK IT: The Guide to Parenting" and "Reasons I Need to Fuck You" ... And it's all amidst the person-sized lollipops and walk-in closet sized Sour Patch Kids, that are, I'm sure, very attractive to a child. If I had kids and thought, "oh, a candy store, I'll take my daughter there" (or whatever), and actually did and saw all that and my child saw something like what's being sold inside that sugar store, let me tell you, I would sue them and also criminally prosecute them for being sexual predators so fast it would make their heads spin. One minute they would all be having the times of their lives, drinking away the fiscal profit from owning a chain sugar store and the next they would be having a hell of a time in prison with a child sexual act charge. I am not an extremist; the world has lost their minds. All the kids being raised in an environment where candy stores sell candy for genitalia and there are large pictures of it applied to the human adult body are kids who will be shown by examples of what is acceptable that they are meant to use candy for sexual acts and not know the consequences and implications of any of it. But, don't worry, it won't make any of you grandparents because your daughter won't have gotten her period yet at 6 years old when she's engaging in the sort of things that only married adults who love one another should do. The world changed in a way that should scare the hell out of you, but it doesn't even phase anybody anymore when a 13 year old girl has a boyfriend. You probably think it's cute. It's not cute. A 13 year old is a child who needs guidance from two parents, not a boyfriend. Get your minds right. Don't be so quick to think progressive ideology is cool when often it isn't right. What is acceptable now will result in the demise of our entire population and we think we are so much further than we were back when Blacks were slaves and women couldn't vote. We haven't even corrected the issues that came about from that let alone "progressed" to the point of age-discrimination. We are so ahead that we allow two consenting 12 year olds to have sex. This store enables us to become further desensitized where these ideals are concerned and that makes me sick and if it doesn't kind of disturb you then you are brainwashed. read more

They're not the kind of inflatables that you can find anywhere else, and the prices were fair. We recently bought a couple for a pool party. Saw a cute stuffed animal in here from the street and dashed inside to squish it. The sweet boyfriend asked if I wanted it (uh, Yes.) so we toted it to the counter. That's where we meet Jasmine. Did Jasmine take our (his) money and stuff Pusheen unceremoniously into a paper bag? No she did not. She gently arranged our (my) new soft and squishy friend so that his little eyes and ears peeked out of the bag for MAXIMUM cuteness (and probably so he could look around and stuff). Above and beyond, Jasmine. Above. And. Beyond. This girl is going places. I happened to look at the price tag a few hours later while we were driving home. Ain't no reason for a stuffed animal to cost that much, even if he IS holding a donut. Did I feel bad that the sweet boyfriend paid a million dollars to make me smile? Maybe. Did I smile? Heck yes. This place is adorable. Awesome for candy of course, but they have awesome novelty items! Perfect for gifts. Socks, keychains, mugs, magnets, shirts, pillows, etc. The employees are nice, not pushy, and very helpful. I love the section of Harry Potter stuff too! Went into this place to buy my girlfriend some way overpriced candy because I can afford to throw money away sometimes. Just for fun not like I'm rich but never the way we were greated here. My family and I stumbled in while shopping on the Promenade. The thing that brought us in wasn't exactly the candy, it was the Associate by the name of Cortez. He looked like he was having a ball inside, so we decided to join the party. Cortez didn't only make us feel welcome, he also made us feel comfortable. By cracking jokes, dancing, and even singing. My kids (11, 13, 17) loved him so much, they asked for a photo, which he was more than welcome to take. The candy was a little overpriced but I ended up buying some candy from my childhood, and 3 bags of candy. Before we left Cortez told my kids, "To be kind to everyone you encounter because the universe needs a lot more of that in this world". Which was just the icing on the cake for this experience. Great neighborhood candy shop! I walk here Saturday nights with my pup since it's only about 2 1/2 blocks away. It's open late like 11pm which is great and surprising for Santa Monica. I obviously love it because it's a candy store and super cute. The employees are very sweet and always interact with my dog. They have lots of gummy sour candy but not so much chocolate choices. So I have more cavities than somebody with 200 teeth. It is ridiculous. Horrid. I seriously have spent $250 on a crown this holiday season. So what do you think my brother got me for Christmas? The candy selection here is insane. This place is perfect for a quick drop-in to grab any of your favorites, or you can get fun gifts for others you care about. They have many creative/pop-culture oriented candy and snacks that are packaged to make a perfect gift for others. The pricing is very fair given what they offer and I am amazed by their sour candy selection. I work down the street from them so i go there all the time and it's basically an addiction but I'm not really mad about that because I am a child of God and no one can judge me - -- anyway, back to the chocolate covered gummy bears which are DELICIOUS and they have a huge selection of chocolate candy as well. This place is a huge favorite for me and i do not go to ANY other candy shops anymore. Also - it is worth noting, the staff at every IT'SUGAR location that I have ever gone to is SO kind and so nice and sweet. They are always in a fun mood and always care about helping you out. Sometimes it is really hard to find such good customer service in any food shop where the staff are not being tipped - but you can count on good service with this brand and that is for sure. read more

She GRABBED a bag of candy I wanted to purchase out of my hand and told me to leave, SHOUTING. My daughter and her two friends went to buy some candy there yesterday. When I went to pay for my daughter's candy the first thing the cashier said (not ask) after handing over my candy bag was "Email address", I looked at her and said "No". Cashier "Do you want to donate 2 dollars to xyz Children's fund" me "No thank you", finally I got the amount I owed out of the cashier and paid. I step aside, not really paying attention, when I hear my daughter's 13 year old friend spell out her email address. I was shocked. There is a candy store, asking kids for their email addresses and if they want to donate 2 bucks to a children's fund. It is absolutely outrages that this chain collects email addresses from minors!! They make you feel like you have to give your email in order to pay. It is hard to say no as an adult, but for a kid it is almost impossible, since all they want is the candy.
