Ice cream combined with warm doughnuts. What a concept. Service was on point, the place is clean and well lit.

Super bright fun environment! Yummy shakes, ice cream and tea options. Friendly service. I love this addition to Broadway!

Turn Dough is a brand new spot to get sweet treats in Santa Monica! I've walked past this a couple of times per week for the last several months, and the 4th of July is the first time I've seen it open, so I decided to give it a shot! The menu has several options including boba teas, coffee, and crepes, but the soft serve section offers the biggest variety of options. Choose between about 15 menu options, or build your own, add toppings, flavor drizzles, and add a cinnamon sugar chimney cone filled with a spread of your choice (Nutella, cookie butter, or dulce de leche). The soft serve flavors are vanilla gelato or pineapple Dole whip. Toppings include fresh fruit, Oreos, sprinkles, nuts, cereals, M&Ms, and other options, and chocolate, caramel, and raspberry are the drizzle sauce options. For those looking for something crazy, Turn Dough also lets you add edible 24K gold and/or CBD oil, though I didn't try either. For those looking for something less crazy or messy, milkshakes are an option as well. While at first glance it's a little expensive, the serving sizes are definitely big enough to split between two people, especially if you "make it upside down," which gets you a little extra ice cream for $1. (Note that the edible gold specialty option starts at $32.90, it's definitely its own category.) You can tell this is new -- it's super clean, and there isn't a single table to sit inside, just a couple of stand up counter spaces. Hopefully they add some tables soon to encourage more people to eat inside. Overall, I thought the gelato creation was tasty. It's a lot of sugar (yes, ice cream usually is, but all the toppings, sauces, and chimney cone made it feel especially sweet, even to a sweet tooth like me), but a yummy cold treat for a summer day. I'd certainly return again.

Fun, happy, Barbie Pink ambience! The Turn Dough refers to the soft doughy sugary cone," trdelnik' made popular in Prague has now landed in Santa Monica! Prices are expensive, but you get a fun creative, over the top creation! I would want to have seating inside to enjoy my soft serve ice cream, but ... that is just me.

I really like ice cream shops that have unique flavors and high quality flavors and this place delivered on both fronts. I sampled a bunch of flavors and the coffee and nuts flavor was pretty good, but ended up getting the strawberry with black pepper and the chocolate brownie on a waffle cone. Both of those flavors were pretty solid, I liked the chocolate brownie a lot more than the strawberry, the strawberry had portions where it tasted straight like strawberry syrup that was a bit too sweet for my liking (even though I have a sweet tooth) The worker was nice even though we had like 4-5 samples before deciding what to buy without any pressure so that was nice. I like that they give napkins and a spoon as well if you ask. The only negatives were the price and I wish the waffle cone was made fresh right on the spot. But otherwise, would come back again!

The limited edition "Milky Tangyuan" flavor was delicious. It had a creamy and sweet base, but my favorite part was the inclusions. The Black Sesame butter was so rich and smooth and then the mochi added the perfect chew. The service was awesome in offering us samples, and being able to quickly handle the huge crowd, many props to them for doing that, and with great attitude at that. The vibe was great, much different than how the store is on a normal day, but seems like a great place to hang out with the indoor-outdoor seating, whether it's late out at night or a sweet treat after lunch on a sunny day. A fan of Wanderlust for their ability to do these collabs and make delicious flavors that satisfy the sweet craving!

Japanese Neapolitan: delicious combo of matcha, hojicha, and black sesame. The tastes were a little muted, but came together quite nicely. Osmanthus Milk Tea: I wish this flavor were creamier and the osmanthus flavor a bit stronger. I did love the boba though. Overall, they have an amazing selection of super unique Asian flavors. None of the flavors were too sweet. In terms of ice cream quality, I think it's only average. It tasted a bit lacking in milkfat, so didn't strike me as particularly creamy.

On the menu of Turn Dough is belgian waffles, soft serve gelato, milkshakes and chimney cakes! For those who don't know what chimney cakes are; they are a traditional snack from Hungary that is made from sweet yeast dough that is rolled into a long rope and baked around a cylinder. Here at Turn Dough; you can actually watch them make and bake the chimney cake. It was really hard to choose what dessert to get here as everything looked so yummy. This place happens to be the first place to offer chimney cake in Los Angeles and so you know I just had to try that. Even choosing which chimney cake to get was hard! They've got 18 different types or you can even create your own! From oreo to nutella to coconut to Disney inspired or unicorn inspired; they've got something for everyone! I ended up getting the very cute Minnie Macaron chimney cake which has Italian-style soft-serve gelato, French Macarons, Rainbow sprinkles, and a handmade Minnie Mouse bow on top. It was definitely a magical Disney inspired creation. We also got the Nutella Dream. This one is a must try for Nutella lovers. It's a chocolate delight that even includes Kinder chocolates! Tastewise; I really liked the freshly baked chimney cakes from here. The chimney cakes are so soft and fluffy. My gelato ice cream melted pretty quickly but I still enjoyed the sweet, creamy soft serve. One has the option to get the chimney cake upside down in a cup and I have to say that is not a bad option because it helps with eating the ice cream and you won't have to worry about the oozy, dripping mess hehe that you will get a with a cone. Overall; Turn Dough is a good place for some delightful and sweet treats right by the beach
