Ice cream combined with warm doughnuts. What a concept. Service was on point, the place is clean and well lit.

Turn Dough is a brand new spot to get sweet treats in Santa Monica! I've walked past this a couple of times per week for the last several months, and the 4th of July is the first time I've seen it open, so I decided to give it a shot! The menu has several options including boba teas, coffee, and crepes, but the soft serve section offers the biggest variety of options. Choose between about 15 menu options, or build your own, add toppings, flavor drizzles, and add a cinnamon sugar chimney cone filled with a spread of your choice (Nutella, cookie butter, or dulce de leche). The soft serve flavors are vanilla gelato or pineapple Dole whip. Toppings include fresh fruit, Oreos, sprinkles, nuts, cereals, M&Ms, and other options, and chocolate, caramel, and raspberry are the drizzle sauce options. For those looking for something crazy, Turn Dough also lets you add edible 24K gold and/or CBD oil, though I didn't try either. For those looking for something less crazy or messy, milkshakes are an option as well. While at first glance it's a little expensive, the serving sizes are definitely big enough to split between two people, especially if you "make it upside down," which gets you a little extra ice cream for $1. (Note that the edible gold specialty option starts at $32.90, it's definitely its own category.) You can tell this is new -- it's super clean, and there isn't a single table to sit inside, just a couple of stand up counter spaces. Hopefully they add some tables soon to encourage more people to eat inside. Overall, I thought the gelato creation was tasty. It's a lot of sugar (yes, ice cream usually is, but all the toppings, sauces, and chimney cone made it feel especially sweet, even to a sweet tooth like me), but a yummy cold treat for a summer day. I'd certainly return again.

My fav spot for iced latte and crepes. The crepes are unbelievable with a lot of toppings. 10/10

Fun, happy, Barbie Pink ambience! The Turn Dough refers to the soft doughy sugary cone," trdelnik' made popular in Prague has now landed in Santa Monica! Prices are expensive, but you get a fun creative, over the top creation! I would want to have seating inside to enjoy my soft serve ice cream, but ... that is just me.

We never go since the walk is so far from Oceana hotel but this time we had scooters! The menu had so much yummy choices and it was so hard to pick one!! I did end up getting the strawberry cloud matcha which was perfect!! Not so sweet but you can't still taste the strawberry! My husband got the world's best vanilla latte. I had to have him try it since he's a "vanilla latte connoisseur". He said it was one of the best! I also tried all the pastries. Olive cake and chocolate banana bread were fiireeeeeee! Loved how moist banana bread was! The olive cake was also still really good the next day after you warmed it up. Both were not overly sweet which I love! The cookie was okay. We didn't like the salt on top of it. It was kind of weird too that the staff if I wanted salt in my matcha. Not sure if that's a thing??? Ambiance is casual. Love the spacious seating indoor and outdoor. There's also a pick up window! I can't wait to come back again and try another drink!!

I left as soon as my drink was ready cause I couldn't stand the smell in there (the doors and windows were open btw) I didn't try my drink until I got in the car and it was just a bitter latte. It didn't taste like any sweetner, or banana or any of the other ingredients listen on the menu. Just so disappointing. Safe to say I wouldn't recommend or return. 2 stars for the cute cups and branding, the actual product was a 0 for me today.

Order and pay at the counter and find a table indoors or outside. Both areas are nice, however inside, the noise level is a wee bit louder, however I haven't had any issues having a conversation with a friend. For those with sensitive ears, just sit outside. One can come here for coffee. Free refills! You can ask for a cup ( their cups are glass), but the coffee doesn't stay warm long. If you plan on sitting there and don't mind a paper cup To Go, order your coffee in a To Go cup. Food: each time I have ordered food to eat there, it arrives promptly and presented beautifully. Their sandwiches are made with their house made bread! Delicious! Try to save room for one of their pastries or desserts. Tartine is an oasis to relax, unwind, catch up with friends, people watch. The valet isn't quite worth it if you're only getting a coffee and pastry - almost feels like an upcharge on a lightly pricy snack / drink. That being said, the almond croissant? Worth every penny! The almond croissant has a generous helping of almonds and features a nice, crispy exterior and light, fluffy interior. My excited nibbles sent them bread shards soaring through the air! I also had an iced latte, and i often don't finish my drink the same hour. Well, I did here! The espresso they added was nutty and dark; the ice made it a little watery but it was tasty nonetheless. To enjoy all the goodness, seating is available indoors (for a more rustic feel) and outdoors (for a more garden feel). Come early, though, not only for parking and fresh bread, but also because there may be a short line!

Parking in Santa Monica is rarely easy, so I considered it a small victory when I actually found free street parking in the neighborhood during my most recent visit. My go-to order is usually the D'Lox Toast or the D'Lox Sandwich, but this time I opted for the D'Lox on a bagel. It was absolutely delicious as always, though seeing the $20.65 price tag for a bagel sandwich is always a bit of a shock each and every time. And, of course, I couldn't resist pairing it with a Wazuka Matcha. Another $8.50 later, I had one of my favorite matcha drinks in hand. All said and done, breakfast for one came to $32.28, which is pretty steep especially for a place where you order at the counter and find your own table. That said, the quality is consistently excellent. The ingredients are fresh, everything tastes great, and I always enjoy my meal and overall experience at Urth Caffe. If the prices were a bit more reasonable (and the crowds a little smaller), this would easily be a five star spot for me. Until then, it's still a place I'll happily return to whenever my friends want to go.

I figured I'd give the recommendation a try, and I'm so glad I did. From the outside, it's in a pretty nondescript industrial area, so I wasn't sure what to expect. But once you walk in, it feels like you've discovered a hidden neighborhood gem. The café has a relaxed, beachy vibe with a cozy, homey atmosphere. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor tables, and I noticed a lot of people enjoying breakfast, catching up with friends, or working on their laptops. I ordered the American breakfast with eggs, kale salad, sourdough toast with butter and jam, avocado, and tomatoes. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. I also had a black coffee and one of their Bluey's coconut waters, which was a nice addition to the meal. One thing I really appreciated was the location. Even though it's tucked away from the busy streets, there's plenty of parking, it's peaceful, and you don't feel rushed. It's the kind of place where you can actually relax and enjoy your meal. Overall, this was a 10 out of 10 experience. Great food, great atmosphere, easy parking, and a place I'd happily come back to. If you're looking for a fantastic breakfast or brunch on the Westside, especially if you're coming from LAX, Bluey's Cafe is absolutely worth the visit. Highly recommended!
