    Deluxe Country Chiken Fried Dinner
    Soledad C.

I've been meaning to try ITSO Vegan for a while, and today I finally did! I called in a takeout order for the Country Fried Chik'n Dinner, and the Salisbury Steak, both with a side of Kale Greens and Mac N Cheez. OMG everything was so good! The standout for me was the handmade seitan "chicken" cutlet, which was fried up to perfection. The gravy was so flavorful. The kale greens had a sweet flavor to them, and the mac n cheez was flavored and cooked to perfection. A must try when you're in the DFW area. Will be back next time I'm in town. The cashier was very kind, as well - great customer service.

The monster Mac so flavorful and good. The Oreo cheesecake was amazing and satisfied my sweet tooth. I really enjoyed the Philly cheesesteak. The greens were amazing and seasoned to the gods. The fish plate was okay, good but probably my least favorite of all the items. I still devoured it!

Supposedly a The "Vhilly" Cheesesteak but was a cut up impossible burger patty

The greens were very good! However, the "fish patty's were terrible. The supposedly cheese steak sandwich wasn't impossible burger, barely chopped up with little seasoning. but and also barely filled up the sub bread. The fries were definitely great value seasoned French cut fries. The cornbread is an absolute no I can't even describe it... I'm all for supporting small and black owned businesses, but I am absolutely mind blown at the poor quality of the food and the fact that this business is open. $40 wasted!

Fish sandwich tastes like the real deal. I ordered yams but unfortunately they ran out. The kale greens were bomb though. The young man working there was friendly and very apologetic when I ordered yams just as they ran out. The spot is clean with a good amount of tables. Only reason I'm giving 4/5 is because of the Yama situation. But it's really great food.

For starters this was me and my kiddos first time visiting an all vegan restaurant! When i tell you everything was vegan and everything was incredible, man. So walking in me and my people didn't know what to expect but the service from Cj set the tone! There was diversity, plenty of seating, cool vibes and from that moment on i just knew the food would be top tier. When i ordered everything i even double checked about the "bacon" that came on my ITSO burger because i am 90% pescatarian and i absolutely don't eat pork or beef and rest assured as advertised EVERYTHING IS VEGAN ahaha. Although it took some time which is always a good sign they make everything fresh to order plus with it being busy lunch hour everything came out fantastic. i look forward to returning with friends and trying a couple more different options. So glad this gem is noted in my book!

Why this place wasn't busier I have no idea. Food was excellent. I had Mac and cheese which was amazing along with some greens and cornbread. I also got a piece of cheesecake and ate it later (delicious!) because I was so full after my lunch. Friendly staff and plenty of parking.

I enjoyed the cabbage however thought the greens were a tad sweet. This was my third time as they ran out of the veggies I wanted.

Ask the Community - ITSO Vegan

Anyone know what their hours will be for 12/31 and 1/1?

Do they have any gluten free options?

I talked with the staff and the answer they gave was not at this time do they offer gluten free items. When and if they do in the future I can repost.

We ordered a bit of things to try between us both. Fried Oyster Mushrooms & Country Beignets $18.50 (The fried oysters were chefs kiss and so were the beignets but they were so greasy I couldn't enjoy them) Country Fried Vegan Bacon $6.50 (Not kidding it smells and tastes just like turkey bacon) Blueberry lemonade $4.50 (Not worth 4.50, it was super sweet but good) Boudin patty melt + fries $17.50 (not sure what was to expect with the patty melt, but it wasn't too bad, the fries were hand cut and really good) Overall I'd come back, but I'd really sit with the menu longer before ordering..

We didn't get to go very often, once every two or three months, because they're about an hour and a half away from where we live, but we always made time when we were in Dallas to eat at D'Vegan. It's been several months since we ate there last and it was still excellent and our absolute favorite at that time. We thought it would be our last because we planned to move out of state but our plans were postponed. Now that we're again getting ready to leave Texas we made a point to go eat their pho before we left. What a huge, heartbreaking disappointment! It's hard to even describe how different the pho was from the lovely, huge, absolutely perfect dish it used to be. This disappointing (tiny) bowl had two types of noodles (one undercooked), in a practically tasteless vegan chicken broth, some sprouts and parsley (!). I had to ask for additional vegetables and they only offered broccoli and carrots. Gone were the lovely radishes, snap peas mushrooms and onions. Gone was the mint and lime. The broth tasted more like water than broth. But the worst, absolutely saddest, part were the two puny slices of tofu, and some kind of horrendous, slimy, pink soy protein that was tougher to eat than calamari, with a slightly disgusting mouthfeel. Good thing the bowl the soup was in was less than half the size of the previous incarnation. We had never had the crispy vegan eggroll before so we ordered that as an appetizer. Out of the kitchen comes the two saddest looking eggrolls I've ever seen. They could not have been more than an inch in diameter and maybe 3" long. They did a little better with the spring rolls in terms of portion size. What had been two large spring rolls full of tofu, mint, sprouts and veggies had turned into four 2" wraps with noodles and some parsley wrapped in the toughest rice wrap I've ever had the misadventure to eat. At least they couldn't mess up the jasmine tea. I can't explain how sad we were that our favorite, exalted, amazing D'Vegan had turned into whatever that was. Maybe the rice dishes would be better? I don't recommend anyone go to this place. Now we need to go to "Pho is for Lovers" on Greenville Avenue to get our pho fix before we leave Texas.

Unfortunately, we kind of regretted that decision with the first bite.. My sister ordered the Mediterranean wrap and I got the lemon chicken wrap. My wrap ended up being about 90% salad with only a few pieces of chicken, which was pretty disappointing. We also ordered the edamame dumplings and a table salad. The salad itself was actually nice, but the edamame dumplings were extremely plain!!! I love edamame and I love dumplings, so I was really excited to try this item but they ended up being very bland and the dumpling filling tasted chalky inside. Even chili oil couldn't save them Maybe I'm just used to more well-seasoned food, but with so many great options around Dallas, this place just didn't stand out for me. That said, the service was good and the ambiance was nice. Unfortunately the food just wasn't memorable enough for me to come back.

Near the end of our meal we had a hard time finding a server to check us out I had the breakfast burrito and thought it was yummy! Had the tight seasoning to make for a convincing chorizo taste. I appreciated that it wasn't too potatoey or cheesy, had an overall good balance of ingredients. My partner had the baked potato grilled cheese which was also quite good from the bite I tried. The fake chicken they used in particular had a good Smokey flavor Overall I think it's a spot worth going for if you're looking for vegan comfort food. Theres a wide variety of options, to be honest a lot of it wasn't super inspiring to me, but this isn't super my cuisine. The service being slow combined with that is enough for me to drop it down slightly, but not too much
