Tiny place, absolutely delicious! I don't have one bad thing to say about the place, food, or…read morestaff. The menu doesn't look particularly amazing, standard-ish pub fare (steak tips, fish&chips, mac&cheese) but they do them EXTREMELY well. The tips were tender and flavorful, the sneaky star of the entree was the salad with feta though. I'm pretty sure the feta was marinated in whatever outstanding salad dressing they use. The havarti grilled cheese with avocado, garlic aioli and fried egg...C'mon. You have to spend the extra $2 for the bacon jam, you will not regret it. I'm sure we've all seen truffle fries right? Some bullshit frozen garbage either drowned in cheap truffle oil, or "dusted" with truffle salt. Well, they don't do that crap here, however they do garlic fries. Hand cut, with whole cloves of roasted garlic all over. Not one or two cloves, like several heads worth of glorious, slow-roasted garlic. I managed to scrounge a couple spoonfuls of the kids mac&cheese from my son, almost lost a finger in the attempt and I found out why. They put just as much effort into the kids food as the adults. If you need a break from your witchy business in Salem, definitely stop in here.

It a small restaurant/bar but everything was beyond delicious and the service was excellent! We came here twice during our weekend stay. I swear I had one of the best cups of New England Clam Chowder I have ever had here, it was perfect. My husband also isn't a hummus fan but devoured our hummus appetizer- and I agree as the one who is actually a fan of hummus it was absolutely delicious. We also had a chance to try their burgers and WOW, every bite we took left us just wanting more and their fries were also amazing as well. Great cocktail menu and beer list, this place should absolutely be on your must try list when visiting Salem!

Delicious food, great drinks, very kind service!…read more We got a bunch of sharable plates before the show, some of us putting in an order for main dishes as well. We were enjoying the sharable, drinks and crowd so much that we had to make a quick request to change the mains to go and they were happy to accommodate. For sharable dishes we ordered aranchini, charcuterie, falafel cakes and steak tartar. The aranchini was the best of the all, but all was delicious. I got the salmon main dish. I took a couple bites before we packed it up to go and it was the most amazing salmon and sauce I've ever had. Even later on, it was still just as good. We will certainly be going back again for a fun night out.

It has a great design inside....see the picture with the brick and incredible lighting. We were given two seats at the bar, which was awesome. We only had a short time to grab a bite and get back to the theater and it could not have worked out any better! My wife ordered a glass of white and a veggie pizza. I ordered a side of mashed potatoes. I know, I know....kind of odd but it was exactly what I was looking for. The food and drinks arrived in perfect time. The mashed potatoes were awesome and my wife is still raving about the veggie pizza and how tasty it was! The bar was crowded as we noticed that most people had reservations. We realized that we were lucky to walk-in and get a great seat! I loved the vibe inside. The bartenders were very welcoming and were full of information and service with a smile. Parking is available on the Cabot Street....I believe there are meters but after dark, I believe parking is free. We will return....with a reservation and a bigger crowd! Great find for us! PS: I did not notice a tv in or near the bar....a nice change!

We were looking for somewhere near the Cabot Theater for dinner and we found The Castle. We were…read moreintrigued by the concept playing board games while eating dinner. If I'm being completely honest we expected the food to be ok but not the best as that's typically how places like this are. We were so wrong!! We started with the mozzarella sticks and they were out of this world. Next up was Caesar salads; not the best but still good- they needed more dressing and it needed to be a creamier dressing but the lettuce blend was fresh and they put a ton of cheese and croutons. Unfortunately we had to take our dinners to go as we were running short on time. We should have planned to have been there longer; this was the only issue we had. Unfortunately they only had two servers and they were slammed. The food was great but the service just too long. If we didn't have somewhere to be we wouldn't have been phased by it; we wouldn't have even noticed how long everything took because we were so immersed in the environment. When we got home we had our dinners and again we were expecting them to just be ok because we were heating them up. Again we were wrong! I had the short rib sandwich and it was AMAZING, loaded with onions and mushrooms it was crazy good. My husband had the steak tips and again phenomenal. We will definitely be back when we have nothing to do afterwards. *I'd like to add the staff was great just very busy!
