Comparing this to our repair experiences at Fry's Electronics, IBR is light years ahead. We never enjoyed going to Fry's, which in our experience has always been very bureaucratic and not at all customer service oriented. First, you've got to run the gauntlet to bring your computer into the store. Then you have to wait at the counter for an extended period of time. After that, you are "greeted" by someone who gives the clear impression that he would rather be somewhere else. You drop your system into limbo, not knowing when you are going to hear back. When you finally pick it up, you do not talk with the person who worked on it. You have to pay to get it back, even if it hasn't been fixed. No fun at all. So this time we decided we would try something else. We took a chance on IBR and we're glad we did. Binh is easy to get in touch with. He responds promptly. We just drove over and he got to work immediately. He did everything right in front of us, giving us the chance to see the inside of our system and ask questions (which he answered clearly, with no annoyance about being asked). Within 20-30 minutes, our laptop was fixed. The charge was reasonable. Throughout the entire process, Binh was polite, prompt and professional -- while at the same time relaxed and casual, which made the experience a pleasant one. Great service! Binh's a really cool guy and also very knowledgeable when it comes to computers. I spilled water on my laptop a year ago and I've had to deal with my screen randomly blurring/graying out every 2 minutes, and I would have to bend my screen in order to get the screen to display properly, over and over. However, when Binh diagnoses the problem he found that the screen was just defective, and the timing with the water incident just happened to be coincidental. My 2016 MacBook Air had water damage from an ENTIRE 32oz. water bottle that spilled in my backpack, so I brought it here. Woke up one day to find my Macbook Pro's screen wouldn't turn on despite the rest of the laptop working just fine when connected to a monitor. I did some research and found out I would need to get the entire screen/lid replaced and started looking for places to have it repaired. Most places told me this repair would cost around $600-700, which is nearing the price of just getting an entirely new laptop :/ I was advised to check out Binh and his quoted price for the replacement part + labor fee was much more reasonable!! I recently purchased my first gaming laptop and really wanted to add another ram stick to make it run dual channel memory. However, the laptop I have is only recently released and there are no guides or tutorials that I can follow to perform the upgrade myself. Thought I'd save me some cash by getting a 13" MacBook Pro on craigslist. Tested it before I bought it for about 10 minutes and it worked fine so I went on my way with my "new" laptop. Get home and start adding my music and info over and then my MacBook starts freezing, and kicking me back to the login screen (where you enter your password). I'd enter the password again and get back to work and then boom, FREEZES AGAIN! This starts happening over and over and I start to hate myself for being a cheap ass and getting a laptop on Craigslist. I yelped "apple service" and find the "It's Binh Repaired" listing on Yelp and figure I'd send him a message through yelp. Within 10 minutes of sending the message, Binh messages me back and troubleshoots the issue and walks/talks me through running a diagnostic. He tells me the issue, but I don't understand "computer language" so he suggests I drop off the laptop and let him work his magic. A few weeks later I get a call from Binh and he figures out the HD needs replacement. Apparently my model laptop had a few variations of HD's for it and the HD that was in there was for the wrong laptop. I called Apple and they said my system was an older model and I should think about a new one because there wasn't much more they could do, really for $2,700.?
