Raspberry cake

Gosh, this was such a beautiful cake!!! My daughter is a huge bluey fan, they really nailed the Pinterest reference photo we provided. Thank you so much for making her cake so so beautiful and special

I love how they wrote my daughter's name. Thank you for the cute unicorn cake for my daughter's second birthday. Great service!

I always pass by this bakery and finally decided to check it out. I was the only customer inside, but I wasn't helped for about five minutes--even though there were about three employees just standing around, with no greeting or acknowledgment. I just wanted to try a slice of cake, so I ordered the Swiss Black Forest. I'm giving them three stars only because the cake was good. That said, the inside of baking area looked pretty messy and the employees weren't too friendly, which didn't give the best impression.

Small victorian style cake, ube mousse flavor ( cake toppers and flowers not included)

Ordered a custom cake for our wedding, loved that they were able to provide what we wanted ( less sweet ube mousse and small victorian style cake) at a reasonable price and it turned our beautiful and it was yummy! :) Staff was also very responsive when they received our request. Other bakeries we asked for quotes on took a lot longer or didn't even respond at all through call or email even 7-8 months out from our wedding (maybe likely due to October being a busy wedding month) , so we were so pleased that they could accommodate us! Thank you It's A Piece of Cake! :)

Oh my gosh!!!! My birthday cake was AMAZING!!!! It was as tasty as it was beautiful! I will never go anywhere else again for a special occasion cake! I got white cake with mocha mousse filling and mocha buttercream frosting. It was decorated in beautiful lavender flowers. It was moist and soooooo flavorful. My guests are still raving about it! And the price was so reasonable for what it was. The woman who helped me was beyond amazing. Best customer service ever! I promise you, you can't go wrong ordering from here. They also have a full case of bakery items and another case with slices of cake for sale. Love love love everything about this place!!

I've ordered many cakes for over 20 yrs from the bakery. It's always a hit and not a slice left. It's a small family owned business so sometimes it takes a while for them to pick up the phone. I usually just take a drive and order in person. And buy a pastry or slice of cake. All delicious. They made my 21st bday cake, grandsons 1st and 3rd birthday cake (Jack Skellington) and my wedding cake, baby shower cakes. Obviously we love Its a piece a cake.

We worked with Griselda, and my daughter's wedding cake was perfect! Griselda helped us navigate the fact that my daughter's cake topper was a bit larger than usual, and the cake was fairly small. The cake (and sheet cake so there'd be enough for all guests) was delivered on time, beautifully decorated, and, most importantly, tasted delicious!

Ask the Community - It's A Piece A Cake

Can they ship to another state? I miss this place!

Do they make sugar free cakes and cookies?

Do you make the Swiss Black Forest in mini size cake? When I go in I don't see it...can you please make mini version because a piece of cake is not always enough :)

They have a big version of it! Unless they got rid of it :(

As someone who is not big on coffee, this latte was actually so so good, and I would definitely recommend. I also tried a bite of the Bibimbap Croissant which was yummy too. Service was amazing! The staff were welcoming, friendly, and quick. They checked on us frequently and made sure if we needed anything else / if we enjoyed our food. They also offered us samples of a new item, the Coconut Pumpkin Bun, coming out around October. It was warm and not too sweet - a perfect balance in my opinion. The atmosphere and ambience was clean and cozy. It was a nice place for our group to enjoy some drinks and a quick bite. Everyone enjoyed themselves! Overall, I highly recommend checking this place out! I will definitely be back :)

The crossant is good not great, for me personally, little less flaky is prefered. The flavors aren't especially unique, but everything tastes fresh and not dry in your throat after taste. Amazing Pastries, Fantastic Sourdough & Delicious Sandwiches!…read more Wayfarer Bread & Pastry is one of my favorite bakeries in La Jolla! Their pastries are absolutely delicious, the sourdough bread is fantastic, and the sandwiches never disappoint. They usually offer two daily sandwich options, one meat and one vegetarian, and I've enjoyed both. My only complaint is that the vegetarian sandwich always seems to come on a baguette, which I find a little too hard and chewy for my liking. I wish they would switch up the bread occasionally because the fillings are wonderful! For that reason, I usually end up choosing the meat sandwich instead. As for the pizza, it's probably my least favorite item. While the crust is good, I find the toppings a bit too sparse. A little more generosity with the toppings would make a big difference. Also, keep in mind that the pizza needs to be pre-ordered through their website, so plan ahead if you're hoping to try it. There's almost always a long line, but don't let that discourage you! It moves surprisingly quickly, and the baked goods are well worth the wait. Overall, Wayfarer is a wonderful bakery with consistently delicious pastries, excellent sourdough, and creative sandwiches. A few small improvements would make it even better, but it remains one of my favorite places to stop for a treat or a quick lunch!

It's a small little place with a few tables outside its doors - still within the store. We came on a random weekday afternoon and it looked like most things were in stock. There were still quite a few people who were in and out. I brought home some pastries and my whole family loved everything! They said everything wasn't so sweet, which is a very good thing for when coming from Asian adults. I concur, the pastries weren't too sweet and the fillings/cremes were generous. I love pastries with filling and all of the ones I got did. I really enjoyed my selection. My favorite from most to least was: crème brûlée, pistachio, mango, almond, and fig. They were very close in ranking though. None of them were disappointing! Only thing was it was a bit pricey, but what isn't anymore... I would highly recommend.
