Meeting with friends.

My monthly dining out group chose Italiano's Restaurant for our monthly gathering. We'd heard wonderful things about the restaurant, staff and food. There were around 20+ of us in the group. I hope we didn't overwhelm the kitchen on a Saturday evening. Diana, our server, greeted all of us warmly and asked if we had any questions about the menu. She started taking our drink orders and menu selections. My wife decided on angel hair topped with meat sauce and I opted for the lobster ravioli topped with a pink sauce and chopped shrimp. With my entree a side salad came with it. I ordered it with the house "red" dressing that is very popular with my Italian restaurants in the Fort Worth area. While we waited, we munched on fresh baked bread and enjoyed catching up with everyone in our group. Diana did her best to "work" the room and gather all our orders in an orderly manner. After a bit of a wait, due to the size of our group, our orders were starting to flow into the room. Since my wife and I were some of the first to order, our entrees were some of the first to be delivered. On the other side, I never did receive my salad. Once Diana, our server, realized it, I told her to just skip it. It was too late. We all know Diana was doing the best she could with our large group. My wife really liked the angel hair and meat sauce. My lobster ravioli with the pink sauce and shopped shrimp was good. It would have been much better it the entree was a bit hotter. It probably sat in the kitchen for a bit. Overall, it was just ok, I've had better at other restaurants. I know Diana and the restaurant staff did their best to accommodate our large party and overall everyone had a great time. Italiano's Restaurant has a great party room. We'll have to consider coming back again in the future.

I liked the food enough to go back again if I was in the area. Pretty simple, quick, and easy. The portion sizes were fair and kept me full. The breaded chicken in the parmigiana reminded me of a chicken nugget-like taste for some reason.

The kid and I came here for lunch on a Saturday a little after they opened. We were the first ones in, but people started trickling in soon after. Neither of us have been here before, but we both love Italian food and supporting local businesses. The inside isn't very big and decorated as you would expect, with Italian decor. The waitress came right over and took our drink order. By the time she got back we were ready with our food order. We ordered the mozzarella sticks for an appetizer, and wow! They were warm and gooey and just delicious! I ordered the Chicken Forest which comes with mushrooms and garlic, subbing angel hair pasta for spaghetti. The food was fantastic and creamy! I did add a sprinkle of parmesan and red pepper flakes. It was a lot of food which I was able to split into 3 different meals. Score! Mine came with a side salad and I chose the house dressing. The salad was decent, and the dressing was a unique vinaigrette. The kid ordered the philly without peppers or onions. It came on a large, toasted hoagie topped with melty cheese. Unfortunately, it was very dry. I guess they don't put any type of dressing or sauce on it? The meat was good, but being dry made the sandwich disappointing. Our waitress didn't come back after taking our order until we were ready for the check and to-go boxes. The cook (I think?) brought us our food and got us refills. I do think they may have been the only ones working and there were a few tables by that time.

Week 9 Letter I-we went to Italianos Restaurant in River Oaks Very much a "family owned hole in the wall" type restaurant, we walked in and it was not crowded at all. The service was great! They bring out fresh bread. Not knowing this, we ordered cheese bread and fried calamari-both excellent! My children ordered off the kids' menu and the portions were huge! Spaghetti with a meatball for one, spaghetti with meat sauce for the other. My cousin came in town and went with us to dinner. She ordered the special of the day - Chicken Sunrise - pasta with mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes, and chicken tossed in a garlic cream sauce talk about food envy! Hubby ordered chicken Parmesan, which is his go to for Italian, and he thought it was really good. I got the tour of Italy-chicken Parmesan, lasagna, and fettuccini alfredo. Amazing! The prices were very reasonable-again, huge portions! We brought home so much food. And they are BYOB so we enjoyed a bottle with dinner This is a great local place and I'm sure they would love the business! Check it out next time you're craving Italian!

Cheesy garlic bread

What in the world is this. If I pay extra for cheesy garlic bread, I would like the cheese to still be on the bread, not on the foil.

My wife and I stopped by for a late lunch. We were greated by the owner. Service was excellent. The food portions were very generous and prices were very reasonable. We will definitely be returning.

Came in on a Tuesday evening. Very cute Italian restaurant right off the road. Nicely decorated. The service is great. All of the employees working there each came out and checked on us. We originally just came in to grab a drink and sit down and talk but we were impressed by the genuine appreciation and hospitality that we ordered a pizza to go. We have tried every pizza place around our House in Hurst, 20min out. Nothing compares to this place 30 min away. lol Will be more than happy to drive the distance for this pizza. We will definitely be back.

Great food and service!! This is a "hole in the wall" Place and BYOB. Our toddler loved it also, as he ate ALL of his lasagna. We will definitely be back.

What an incredible visit to one of our most favorite Italian restaurants over the past 3 decades…read more We love the decor of the restaurant and the professionalism of the wait staff. We've always had a wonderful experience when dining at Aventino's. Chris and Erica are incredible owner and really care about their customers. It's so relaxing to dine at Aventino's and I love introducing new friends to the restaurant. We attended a Christmas concert the middle of the afternoon. I had made reservations for my wife and I afterwards. At the concert, sitting in front of us, there was a super friendly 8-year-old and her grandmother. We got to know them and were chatting with them afterwards letting them know we were headed out for our dinner reservations at our favorite Italian restaurant. The grandmother mentioned they both loved Italian food also and asked if it would be OK to join us for dinner. We told her we'd be delighted. I texted her the address of the restaurant and we were off to the races. When Terry and I arrived at the restaurant we mentioned our reservations that we might have two additional guests. Fortunately, they already had a table for four reserved for us. That was perfect. Our professional server, Taja, greeted us as the hostess seated us. We mentioned to her that we possibly had two additional guests that might be joining us, but we weren't sure. We ordered our drinks and sat back, relaxed and chatted about the concert we'd seen. About 10-minutes later, Mary and her granddaughter arrived, and we received big hugs. The granddaughter was excited that she was getting to have dinner with Santa Claus. We visited a bit, and they asked me what's good on the menu. I said, with gusto, EVERYTHING! My wife loves their lasagna so that's what she ordered. I ordered the Chicken Scaloppine, one of my favorite entrees at the restaurant. We ordered a basket of garlic bread for all to share. It's delicious. Shortly, Taja arrived with our salads. I could literally drink their house dressing. It's kind of a sweet wine vinegar dressing. It's great to dip your bread in it. Our entrees were delivered to our table piping hot and were prepared to perfection. Our new friends also raved about how delicious everything was. They said they'll definitely return again real soon and bring family members. Taja thank you for the stellar service, your ROCK!

I really loved the bread & ricotta. Something always gets me about bread and cheese. The calamari was pretty good, I liked the addition of the olives, but overall it was a typical calamari dish. We also ordered the little gem salad to share. It was perfect because there were 4 gems for each of us. This was also decent. Nothing particularly memorable about this dish, but still good. We each ordered our own entree. Our friends ordered the vodka rigatoni and the lasagna bolognese. Hubby ordered the tagliatelle bolognese and I had the cacio e Pepe and added sausage. Pastas were cooked to the perfect al dente. There was so much meat in all our entrees. We each had a bite of each other's meals. I couldn't decide which one I liked best. They were all so very good and they all tasted different. I really love having foodie friends. And then we ended with dessert/after dinner drinks. Our friends got an affogato and an espresso martini. Hubby and I shared the pistachio cake. That pistachio cake is to die for. I don't want to over exaggerate because what if you decide to get it and you hate it? Well, I loved it. It wasn't too sweet and the salt flakes on top was perfection! It was so good with the affogato. 100% would get again.

Apéritivo Hour should draw locals running every day in the bar & patio including drinks & snacks. I wish I had come with a larger appetite because the menu offers a balanced selection of antipasti (starters), zuppa (soup), insalata (salad), primi (housemade pasta), secondi (protein dishes), and contorni (sides). My gracious server recommended a Rosemary Foccaccia (saved for next time) and Wild Arugula salad that was garden fresh in a Texas pecan vinaigrette with snappy pecorino and the most incredible crisped chicken skin as an alternative to traditional breadcrumbs. It was light and fresh with depth and richness, a perfect starter. From cool to warm - a Kabocha Squash Soup made with honeycrisp apple cider topped a tart currant chutney and crunchy roasted pine nuts. Texture was velvety smooth, delicately sweet, perfectly balanced, thoughtfully light to precede later dishes. Dessert a must, ask for house recommendation which rotates. My lovely server remained present and attentive although I was her only patron on the patio - a sign of superb service! I'm looking forward to seconds and main on my next trip.

While our server was very knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient -- and initially we were not in a rush for the evening -- I did mention having an uber scheduled for pick up 2 hours after our reservation time and they were a bit loquacious. I guess our main courses were not placed until about 15mins before our uber pick up so we essential took two bites of our dinner and rushed out. By this time the restaurant was packed. As a resident on Magnolia, we're fortunate to have many great restaurants to support. Cane Rosso…read morewas no exception. My parents were in town and we decided to come here for my birthday in fact. Usually, we would have walked. Though it was pretty cold outside. There's a small lot that's right at the entrance (or back) of the restaurant. However, in the likely case that it's full, there's a spacious lot that's nearby next to the parking garage as well. Inside, we were quickly seated. Our waitress brought out our drinks promptly. We knew what we wanted so we ordered then and there as well. For appetizers, we got the Artichokes Classique. I'm not the biggest artichokes fan. I may or may not have been trying to convince my parents that I have a sophisticated adult palate and this looked like it would do the job. The artichokes were lightly fried with a crispy exterior. They retained their earthy, taste. Paired well with the slightly spicy, garlicky calabrian chile aioli. My dad got the Chicken Parm Sandwich. It was nice and meaty - solid chicken parm! What really stood out, in my opinion, was the side caesar salad. They used whole gem lettuce as opposed to romaine which I felt offered a better texture, presentation, and helped with the dressing distribution. My mom, or rather all of us, got the Chorizo y Miele which was their pizza of the month for Feburary. Without a doubt, it was one of the many highlights of this night. It's a sweet-spicy pizza with rich, salty sausage accented by an appropriate amount of habanero honey drizzle. I had never had sweety drop peppers but it was such a nice addition in terms of presentation for the month of February, texture with the slight cruchiness of the whole pepper, and flavor with the slight spice. Last but not least, the texture of the pizza was phenomenal. The crust had that nice smokey flavor - perfect base for all of the ingredients on top. Finally, I got the Truffle Carbonara. Rich. Decadent. Mindblowing. This is easily one of the top three carbonaras that I have ever had. It was so delicious. The truffle flavor is not overwhelming at all - just the right amount. Lastly, I want to comment on the stellar service. We were checked on frequently by our wonderful waitress. Additionally, since it was my birthday, we had brought a cake from a bakery to the restaurant. Not only did she offer to store the cake in the fridge, but she made sure that we had enough plates, silverware, and even a lighter for the candles. Truly made sure that the evening was special! Overall, I'm looking forward to one day coming back to Cane Rosso. From trying the unique monthly pasta and pizza specials to the wonderful service, you can't go wrong with a meal here!
