MELANZANE PIZZA, & vegan MARGHERITA PIZZA with hot honey ( couldn't really taste the hot honey)
Mercy K.

Cool space. Pizza was light & had good flavor but needed to be thicker in the center of crust to hold up the pizza. They have olive oil on the table too which is nice to dip the crust in. It was cool they had a vegan cheese option. MELANZANE PIZZA was our favorite but the crust was too thin in the center. The staff were nice and well versed in the menu. This place was a little pricy for the portion size and quality since the base price was high and was an additional cost to substitute or add.

Probably the BEST pizza we have ever had in New York area. The pizza is super juicy and tastes fresh. The broccoli rabe mixes so well with the garlic sauce. The service staff is very friendly and attentive. The ambiance is casual and relaxing, we saw two tables celebrating birthdays.

FETTUCINE ALFREDO with grilled chicken

This Italian restaurant has a wonderfully intimate atmosphere with low lighting that strikes the perfect balance--not too dark, not too bright. The overall vibe feels romantic and relaxed, helped by the soft, low music and a pleasant crowd that adds to the charm without being overwhelming. It took about five minutes before someone came to our table, but once service started, the staff was attentive and friendly. Our food arrived in roughly nine minutes, and it was absolutely worth the wait. The Alfredo sauce was incredibly creamy with great flavor, and although the grilled chicken leaned a bit more toward the "grilled" side, it still tasted very good. We finished the meal with their homemade tiramisu, which was a lovely way to end the night. The space itself is clean--the floors mostly so, the tables spotless, and the whole place smells fresh. Even the bathroom was clean, which is always appreciated. Overall, it's a cozy, romantic spot with good food, attentive staff, and a comfortable atmosphere. I'd definitely return.

I've been here a few times. I've been here for lunch and dinner. Each time I'd had one drink and a small pizza. The first few times I paid $30 for one drink and a pizza. The visit was pleasant, and that's why I went back and recommended other people to visit this spot as well. Last week, I went in for lunch. I ordered one drink and one pizza. My total was $52. I just went to another nearby establishment that has been in business much longer and their lunch deal (one drink, one pizza) was $14. I won't be going back to IO, because they obviously don't know the area they're catering to. There are plenty of other Italian places in this area to get a great lunch deal.

Big menu even if you have non-seafood eaters. They definitely have the cool factor down pat, and are very welcoming. Beer list was decent, with some good options include from Finback, and also a great looking drink menu (was too early in the day). The food? Just alright. Got a Connecticut lobster roll on the waiter's recommendation. It had plenty of lobster even though it was a small piece of bread (they promise 1/4 lb). They used primarily claw which can be a good thing, although in my case it's not my favorite part; for a lobster roll I love when it's a mix of all of the lobster, with my favorite part being the knuckles. The meat was good quality, however there is very little butter and only some chopped scallions. Read: bland. Plus it came with a small bag of Lay's plain chips. For $30, I expect better than that. My son's fries were alright (also bland), however my wife's half chicken with corn looked great. Would come again however not rushing back. Pretty expensive for something that didn't come close to 'wow'. They seem to have good ingredients, so it's just a matter of elevating them a bit better. More style than substance right now.

Probably an indictment on me and not the chair. Service was warm and convivial like Artie buoco

I'd give this a 3.5 stars overall. But I couldn't get myself to round up. We tried the smoked…read morericotta, the crispy cauliflower, fettuccini nero, and pappardelle with asparagus and lemon. The atmosphere was cozy, casual, and somewhat romantic. Service was quick and staff were friendly. But, I don't think staff were as knowledgeable about the menu. I asked for some recommendations and favorites re: the pasta dishes and they pretty much said everything was good. That's fine. Was just hoping for some sort of follow up (4 out of 5). Overall, had mixed feelings about the food: The smoked ricotta honey with grilled bread was okay. The grilled bread came with black char, which didn't work for me. Ricotta and honey are subtle flavors and the char quickly overpowered them. The bread was good, but I think it would've been better toasted, not charred/burnt. That way the nutty flavors from a toasted bread can complement the honey/ricotta better. For the price tag (18) on a simple starter, it was disappointing. (2 out of 5 stars) Crispy cauliflower. I will say the name of this dish was intriguing. Was it lightly battered and fried? When the dish came out, I was disappointed. There's no crisp. It had the texture of roasted cauliflower. The aioli had good flavor, but overall, this was something I've tried before for less than 16 dollars. Can't call something crispy when it's not. (2.5 out of 5 stars) Pastas made the night better. Tried the fettuccini nero (seafood) and one of the pasta celebration dishes, pappardelle with asparagus, lemon, Parmesan. Fettuccini nero was squid ink pasta with seafood. Had good, deep flavor. A bit too salty after the first few bites--the saltiness kind of lingered in your mouth. Wish there was a more seafood. Clams didn't come in their shells. Expected more visible lumps of crab meat and calamari. Other than the shrimp, the seafood bits were much smaller and reminded me of frozen mixed seafood packaging. (3 out of 5) I thought the pappardelle was very good. Good, balanced flavor. Not too salty. Good acid. Good crisp and change in texture from the breadcrumbs that came with the dish. It lacked the depth of flavor that the fettuccini nero had. I was told this was a white sauce dish, which made me think it was going to be more of a creamy dish, but it wasn't. Definitely more of a butter/oil based dish. Some creaminess from the Parmesan I guess. Anyways, I had a delicious first few bites. (4 out of 5)
