I love this place. It's a go-to destination for work and casual lunches because it's right on the train line at Dobbs Ferry. If you eat outside, which I have, you will hear the trains going by from time to time -- but you are rewarded for that by the gorgeous river view on the other side! I've had their burger and their grilled chicken sandwich; I enjoyed both, but the chicken sandwich was really excellent (and a bit messy -- get extra napkins!). Most recently, I had the Hummus & Grilled Pita as a lunch and it was a perfect mid-day meal -- filling but not too much food to put me into the food coma. Hudson social is conveniently located at the exit of the Dobbs Ferry train station and a parking lot walk over to the Dobbs ferry water view . It has indoor outdoor seating clean restrooms; and a nice staff. The food is ok ; my fish was dry the steak my other half had needed salt . I had to asked for ranch twice but they did sub my fries for salad . For two of us without tip it was 100 for two meals and 1 drink not cheap if you aren't wowed. Hudson Social is tucked away in Yonkers & is a great spot for watching the sunset/having a couple drinks/dinner which is exactly what I did. I had a couple of rum-based cocktails which honestly were average at best- not much alcohol & a bit too sweet. As for the food, the chicken quesadilla was a huge portion & tasty. The nachos were pretty good too albeit I wish they used a different type of cheese as this one lacked that "gooey" element I feel like nacho cheese should have. The shrimp tacos were good as well. All in all, this is a cute spot but I see myself solely going here when the sun is winding down during long summer days ie when you can sit outside since it honestly looked a lot better outside than inside. read more

So this place was cute... We wanted to take a little road trip from New Jersey and go have lunch on the water somewhere. This is facing the Hudson river and is somewhat deceptive when you actually look at the restaurant website. This is right next to a train station, and there is a drop off street between where you sit and then there's a parking lot and then the Hudson river. Still scenic but just not the same as being Waterfront. Service was amazing, they have a full bar and outdoor seating. The food was very good and priced reasonably. I would have given this review more stars, but I do feel like the pictures on the website are inaccurate and we weren't as close to the water as I wanted to be. We had driven several miles to go here and so that was the disappointing aspect of it. I would go again if I was in the neighborhood just because of the service and the food. It was not handicap accessible to get to the restrooms. However, that's another checkmark on the experience. read more

It is located right at the Dobbs Ferry train station (convenient!) , however, they do a wonderful job at blocking out the noise from coming inside the building. The outside bar / dining are both great in the warmer weather and they usually have a band playing. The upstairs space is available for parties (I am guessing around 35-40 people max). They have a mouth/watering selection of food and cocktails. I recommend the cosmo cocktail, the social burger, buffalo chicken sandwich, and the loaded French fries. All were exceptional! read more

We were looking for "something by the water" and Hudson Social popped up. It's kind of by the water, but it's literally next to the Dobb's Ferry train tracks in the old station house. We sat outside, there's a nice view of the hudson in the distance. They have big umbrellas which worked well as the sun set. The train is loud but short-lived. It poured rain as we were finishing up and we were able to scoot closer to the awning area. We drank a lot (cute mixed drinks menu, 4 draft beers and a lot of wine choices) and had lots of apps. I really liked the burrata. The hummus was good too. The cauliflower had a powerful kick, but I'm a lightweight when it comes to spice. The nachos were ok, but they went well with our drinks. Plus is pet friendly My last visit here was for mother's day brunch. I didn't make reservations but took a chance anyways. It was all booked. So I asked if I could place an order to go. Staff said to do it on website. I tried but it wasn't working. I went back inside and told them it wasn't working. Manager came up to me and told me they were pretty booked and shut the take out function off because the kitchen was behind in orders. I was about to leave but asked him one more time if I could please put an order in w him and take it to go. He said ...you know what ok. We are pretty behind but depending on what you order I can put a rush on it being that is mother's day! Oh I was sooo happy and grateful. I order chicken fingers wings, burgers and fries. The restaurant's location is GREAT but the food is truly terrible. We were served a spoiled salmon dish for $35 and a flat tap beer. (Sent both back, obv.) The Cuban sandwich was heaping with pickles and one slice of tasteless meat on a thick sub roll. The acoustics (LOUD) make it impossible to hear anyone at the table except the person sitting directly next to you. Not social at all. This is my third time going there with similar experiences-bad food and LOUD! We were seated, given water and menus; that was it. I made eye contact with one stocky gentleman, twice; both times he told me our waiter was coming; the bus boys ignored us. I decided we should go; who wants to spend money at a place you are not wanted; it's probably why it was SO empty. I wouldn't rate zero stars but the one star is for the atmosphere and a kids menu. It's a nice atmosphere overlooking the park with river views certain times of the day. It's restaurants like this that I question all of yelp and it's reviews. How does anyone rate this place higher then 2 stars? Was I there on that type of whirlwind day when everything in FOH and BOH goes wrong? Because the service was terrible, the food awful and the drinks watered down. The main courses arrived to the table before the first round of drinks. That's just bad teamwork. The chicken was completely dried out and that's just terrible culinary skills, The sandwiches that were ordered had burnt stale bread. Not lightly toasted fresh bread, stale burnt hard bread that flaked when bitten into and that's just a careless blunder. Then no one came back to the table until we were all done eating and the busser had cleared the table of dirty dishes and that's just simply bad service. They were busy but not swamped. Are they understaffed or do they just don't care because no one else does? A teenager was the hostess and I didn't see a single floor manager. This isn't an Applebee's or an IHOP where it's a standardized run format. This is a pricer cafe style restaurant where an actual adult should be overlooking the operations and remedying any blunders that typically arise in a fast paced busy establishment. Whoever owns and runs this place obviously has no desire or knowledge how to operate a restaurant properly and produce a great dining experience. It's success is solely based off of the location so why care? The owner doesn't and the staff obviously don't care. Westchester has a lot of places like this. On the surface it's shiney, hip and trendy just what the housewives of Westchester love and desire. But realistically it's a cluster that should be avoided at all costs by true foodies and dining enthusiasts. read more
