Fried Fish Tacos Plate, seasonal veggies

If you're craving seafood, you need to dine here. Located on Main St in Hastings, this spot has plenty of seating (indoor and outdoor) where you can enjoy an array of great food and cocktails. Since I'm very basic, I normally only order lobster rolls when I dine here but my friend ordered the Salmon which looked divine so might have to switch it up next time! Note: there is plenty of parking in the lot next to the restaurant.

We gave it 5 stars for the Service, food and pet friendly ! This is located in a very cute area to browse around after. Street parking was not an issue on a Sunday. Outside seating contains well Maintained picnic tables. The inside is modern with two inside bars. The servers checked in on us frequently and brought our dogs fresh water. Food- rigatoni bolognese was not a traditional red sauce but full of flavor. The rice bowl with shrimp was fresh. I tried a Vegan hard boiled that was in the rice bowl for the first time and I was blown away how real it tasted. The Shoshito peppers were great, and not one spicy one in the whole bowl. Highly recommend if you are in the area

Bread & Brine is one of our absolute favorite local spots! We go all the time and everything is consistently delicious -- the Thai-style calamari, oysters, baked clams oreganata, rice bowl, dumplings, cornbread, lobster roll, fish sandwich, and Korean chicken sandwich are all amazing. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Service is always friendly and reliable -- it's truly a neighborhood gem we never get tired of!

Been trying new restaurants along the Hudson and wanted to try this one. Parking in the area can be hard on weekends. They have outside seating but choose to sit inside. Came late for lunch ordered clam chowder it was not your typical chowder. Was not creamy at all I'm told that's not how you make it but what other way is there. The oysters were ok my best friend ordered the burger but unfortunately the order that came out was wrong. So she had to wait again for a new order to come out. My crab cake salad was delicious and was the best part of the meal.

Came to Bread & Brine on a Friday night without any reservations. There is a parking lot right behind the restaurant that is free after 6p but there is also plenty of street parking around the area. The restaurant was plenty big but actually quite filled around peak dinner time. We waited maybe a minute and were seated pretty quickly. Inside the restaurant there was music, TV, and country-vibe decorations. Our server came quickly and were pretty efficient the whole meal, no complaints there. We loved the food! They indeed had some fresh seafoods. We started with the corn cob, tasted amazing with the cheese/sauce combo, then had the shishito peppers, which was another flavorful appetizer. We also got the grilled fish tacos, good flavors and the fish was quite fresh. Our entrees were the beef burger and grilled whole branzino. I was pretty shocked at the price of the branzino, at $27, was well worth it! The flavoring was amazing, size was decent. We then got a few simple desserts and the house special dessert, which was pound cake with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Honestly it was one of the best desserts I've had, it was light, soft, and mildly sweet, which is the perfect combination for me. I would totally come back here just for the poundcake. At the end, our bill was about $100, which we thought were so worth it! Definitely check out Bread and Brine if you are around the area!

Dumplings and Tiger calamari

Parking is difficult but be patient because it's definitely worth it. Both types of lobster rolls were very good. I chose traditional Maine old style and my wife went with. Connecticut hot. They weren't enormous but it also didn't feel like they skimped out. The starters and sides were exceptional. The Tiger style calamari is a great mix of flavors and textures with its bed of shredded cabbage and sauce. It was even better than expected. The cucumber salad is a must order. It's clean and refreshing. The dumplings are crisp and hot but not even a little bit greasy. We will definitely put this place in our rotation.

Cornbread, Honey Butter & Thyme. Connecticut Style Lobster Roll

First time dining here, I have mixed feelings about the experience. Here's a breakdown. Service: Friendly and attentive waiter, the host checked in on us as well which was great! We were able to walk-in and sit outdoors without issue. Our waiter did forget to bring us utensils but otherwise all was well. Food: I shared the steamed mussels for two, they were seasoned well (3/5 ). My main course included the hot lobster roll, with a side of mac and cheese and corn bread. The lobster roll was decent but tasted plain due to the lack of butter (3/5). Mac and cheese was tasty, along with the cornbread! Boyfriend had the clam chowder, which was definitely more soupy than I've ever seen. There were huge potato chunks and few small pieces of clam (0/5). I personally would likely come back because it's local and my meal was decent. The clam chowder did put us off a bit unfortunately.

Smash burger and old bay seasoned fries!

I tried to eat the fish which was very soft but dripping wet. Complained about it snd got it taken off. I would try a different dish and strongly urge you to pass the fish and chips. Zoom in on the plate and look at the pond of oil.

[Blowing on my nails.] The menu is a mix of American comfort food and gastropub classics, but with flair, and has a bit of everything to satisfy different palates. Our eyes were probably bigger than our stomachs as we ordered 2 apps, 2 entrees, and 2 cocktails, and it was an enormous amount of food. The portions are definitely what you'd call hearty, and everything was very tasty. Thursdays are all day happy hour so we picked the fried calamari appetizer at the HH price (still a full and generous plate and didn't seem like a downsized version) which were tender and well-battered, as well as the hot honey wings which were meaty and substantial. The short rib parpadelle with housemade pasta and a perfectly medium-rare, well seasoned hanger steak with truffle fries completed our satisfying and belly-stuffing meal. The cocktails are serious as well - the presence of a drink with egg white is my personal litmus test for a bar that knows what it's doing, so the Thyme to Bloom special had my name on it. I'm salivating just looking at photos of dishes I didn't order, and am already plotting my return!

As many of you know I am cultured. I'm seasoned. In age and in ethnicity. Lightly seasoned? Sure…read more But seasoning nonetheless? Depends who you ask. Oh Desdemona, how unlucky you were. Oh Yelp, how lucky I am. How lucky I always am. How lucky I was to stumble upon Hawaii Japanese Cuisine on the ever industrious Warburton Ave. Saturday Farmers Market. Meredith's Bakery. Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Bread. If you know you know. Anyways. Out in Waikiki I learned to appreciate Poke. I once appreciated Pokemon. What's Politoed up to these days. Surprisingly, or unsurprisingly depending on your grasp of history, Poke is actually a Hawaiian dish. Japanese inspired, of course, but that's why the name of this spot is quite unique (although not catchy). Catch of the day. Rack of the day. So how'd I get here? You ask? ASK ME. Fine! I'll answer. Calm down, needy much? I'm an active guy. I participate in activities. Typically solo, I'm riding solo I'm riding solo solooooo. Man, just imagine walking down the city streets with a Walkman in blasting Les Miz. The dream. Anyways. I just got back from the island life and I was craving some fresh fish, at a sizable size with some balance of fruit, veggies, sauce and quantity for a beautiful price. And I just so happened to be running myself into the ground at the track in Irvington. Or was it that low-lying track in Hastings. The bees. The bumblebees. Maybe the hornets. It was Irvington. The bulldogs. Grrrrrr. I just ran myself into the ground. Sprints for about an hour. Bad hammy. Few months later tore the calf while calfmaxxing. Probably related. First muscle injury in a spinning dixie, gotta have muscles to injure them? Not really but that's what I'll tell myself. So I rip the farmers market. Then I rip the soosh spot, ordered online. Walked in, handsomely. Very friendly and respectful and nice staff and have been everytime I've gone since. The weight of the food in hand was ridonk so I was optimistic. I also got a few desserts down the road. Some hardbody that was completely eyeing down my grass-fed grass-finished hog at the track was somehow now across the street drinking a protein smoothie. My aura stinks of grandeur, but I avoid it. I'm taken lady. Did she follow me? Gross. What a joke. Really put things into perspective. I'm a fat slob, a professional self sabotager. But I work hard for this fat and that's what makes me a special boy. Hawaii Japanese Cuisine has the best poke in the area. They never let you down. I never let you down. Benvolio. I've driven by many times and never even knew they existed! I opted for the build your own bowl and what an experience. There are soooo many options for fixins and for the bowl itself. You can get 2 proteins or 3. For my bowl this time I got the 2 proteins with half brown rice half green salad with kani of course. For fixins I added cucumbers, edamame, masago, radishes, seaweed salad, sesame seeds, crispy onions, scallions, ginger and for 1$ extra avocado. I added classic shoyu which is basically just soy sauce. I wish they gave a better description for their sauces. My partner ordered the 2 protein bowl with brown rice, grilled chicken, shrimp, sweet corn and added eel sauce. Everything was so delicious and fresh. Vegetables had a nice crunch which lets me know just how fresh. Was a little disappointed in the amount of kani I got but was delicious nonetheless. Note the kani is shredded very thinly. For 16$ this bowl is a perfect little lunch.
