I explained to her that I have scoliosis and she knew exactly what areas to concentrate on without me having to tell or show her - not only that but she is STRONG for sure - this is the type of treatment that works on my body and may not work for others. As a client, I always voice when something is too deep to the point of pain but therapists do not know our threshold - it's important to be communicative during treatment. Some areas I couldn't tolerate so Annie moved on but in the areas that deep pressure was required - she spent more time on. Also - don't let the exterior fool you! The massage parlor is in an area that felt a little sketchy to me but as soon as I opened the doors, I was comfortable and super excited for the thai massage experience. However, the atmosphere in the room is typical with soft spa music, dim candle light, comfortable tables and a cozy room that may put you to sleep like me. Upon arrival, Sunny checked me in with smiles and was also my masseuse for my Swedish massage. She hit all the right points and made sure I was comfortable by asking if the pressure was too much or the bed temperature was good for me. I really enjoyed the minimal use of the light unscented massage oil she used. Before I flipped over, hot towels, more massaging and hot rocks were placed on my back. This was different for me, but I thought it was perfect. It warmed up all the areas she massaged and and removed most of the massage oil leaving my back soft and moisturized without an oily feeling. There was also some stretching done with my arms, legs and neck area. One finished, I felt relaxed, loose and ready for another gym session of lifting! The prices are extremely reasonable as the focus here is on the massage not all the fancy, aromatic things and decor. Booking online is very easy also. This is a great massage joint and definitely the best bang for your buck around here!

We had no idea what to expect from a foot spa. After asking some basic questions, we decided to check it out. The timing, the price was right and they had immediate availability. We were directed to the back and all we had to do was to take off our shoes/socks and roll up our pant legs. No changing of the clothes was necessary, SIMPLE. There was a cubby right next to you to store your belongings and you lie down on the bed. They put a tub of warm water at the base and in go your feet. While soaking you get an amazing massage, on your arms, legs, torso, head, back...so relaxing and easy to fall asleep--an hour passes by so quickly! Bright in the reception area, but dimly lit in the back the evoking a quiet relaxing atmosphere, meditative/relaxing music in the air and a view of the lagoon.

That said, this place leaves much to be desired in terms of relaxation. The reception is open you can hear every transaction with the customers outside. You can also hear noise from people talking in the neighboring restaurant. This last time, I booked a 1 hour massage, the masseuse was 10 min late and the bed wasn't even ready. And then he finished at the top of the hour, so I only really got 50 mins out of the 60 I paid for. It's such a small thing- to make up for the time that he was late but because of this, it'll definitely be my last time here. I also would recommend management to invest in some sort of door so that people don't hear the noise from the receptionist and guests that choose to just talk at a normal volume as if other guests aren't trying to catch a break.

The price is comparable and even less than most spas. There is no shower, sauna or jacuzzi at this facility. Only calm, relief and peace.

Verona Massage is located on El Camino, which can be hectic, but there is free parking in the back, and once you enter the building, it gets a little bit quieter. There are some cool crystals and geodes on display in the main building. There are 2 rooms for Verona Massage, and it is not a spa or foot massage place. Shirley takes appointments, and I am so grateful my husband booked me one with her. It felt very private, relaxing, and I didn't feel rushed at all. This was my second time getting a prenatal massage, and I can hands down say that this was better than the one I got in Hawaii. She focused on my knots that I didn't even know I had! I appreciated the quiet environment and calm she creates. She has great technique and applies just the right amount of pressure, although she checked in on the pressure as needed. There was not a moment where I felt like I needed to tell her to apply more/less pressure. The 1 hour was simply pure bliss. Also, this is not a cheap foot massage spot if that's what you're looking for. I think this is actually the perfect spot if you're looking for a real massage. Would definitely come again!

However, even when they are not available, I have had a very positive experience. A few things to note: the facility is a pretty small location and rooms are often only separated by a curtain or thin walls. In other words, you hear a lot of the chatter coming from the reception area or even other rooms. This is not your peaceful Zen spa if that is what you are looking for. That aside, the quality of the massages are the best I have found. The combination of types of massage available, plus the strong hands of the therapists are unmatched for the price. I am someone who needs very deep pressure and like someone to stick their elbows into my knots and I get this here more than any other place I have been to. I think more importantly, the therapists seem very intuitive in their ability to find my knots. They don't just go through a standard routine, but try really hard to work on things that need work. Again, this may not be for everyone because the intensity can be quite high and even painful. But this is the type of massage I prefer. Five stars for quality of massage.
