I bought the BBQ wings with cabbage and creamy spinach---paid $22(rounded up). The chicken was sooooo hard. These people are know for selling left over foods and reheating them over and over. You can tell that the chicken was stale---even when you bit into it, the meat was not soft. This was complete waste of my money. They cannot cook and if they can, they do not care about quality. The cabbage was ok and the creamy spinach had a good flavor. I am a Caribbean person and know what good Jamaican foods and good foods in general taste like, but this was complete trash!!! I literally had to throw it out. But the kicker was that they drowned the chicken in the BBQ sauce as if that was going to hide the staleness and hardness. DO NOT RECOMMEND wasting your time and money.

I have driven past this place thousands of times and never tried it before. I finally decided to give it a try. It blew me away. I'm not sure why but I didn't expect much....thought the food would be dry. I was 100% wrong. I ordered the oxtail with Mac and cheese and rice and it was absolutely delicious. Better than the food I've had in Jamaica. My friend got the goat curry with creamed spinach and it was also mind blowing. I would order food from this place to go since the seating area is small. But definitely delicious and flavorful

Doesn't look like much when you drive up, because they share the parking lot with other businesses, but I was so hungry I went inside and it turns out to be a cute restaurant and bar. They have the best jerk Chicken I've had in a long time and the best part is quite a few choices for your sides, which I loved, for example, collard greens, green beans, standard cabbage & carrot mixed. Happy hour 4-7 pm, live entertainment, and full bar.

I haven't had goat in so long I was craving some. I don't really like curry, when make my goat I always do it in a brown sauce. Anyhow it wasn't busy when I went. I ordered carry out and it only to like 15minutes for the food to come. They have these cute Jell-O shots so I sat and had one while I waited for my food which was nice. It was clean and wasn't busy at the time , so I looked around and obviously took pictures. When the food came out it was hot and perfect I didn't want to wait until I got home so I opened and tried it. I asked the lady who took my order to make the curry light since I don't really like it. It came out perfect, so good. The only dissatisfaction was the Mac and cheese. It didn't taste like there was any cheese which is weird. That's why I rated 4 stars Aside from that totally recommend! Just maybe ask for extra cheese on the Mac if you order it lol.

Island Pride's Oasis claims to have the most authentic Jamaican food in the area, they are right. I have been lucky to enjoy Jamaican food in Kingston. After eating the oxtails here I almost starting speaking Patwa. The oxtails are described as melting off the bone in a rich stew with beans, carrots, bell peppers, and onions. The flavor they develop in this stew is amazing, so rich and bold. Now the oxtails are a bit expensive, the dinner is about $17 but so worth it and it includes one side. I got the creamed spinach as a side and paid extra for a side of greens. I loved the cream spinach, my mouth is watering writing this review. I also ordered a few beef patties only $2.50 each, very well seasoned and flaky. This is a low key/ hole in the wall place, there are no more than ten tables throughout the restaurant. Most people typically order to-go, so don't expect 5-star service but in general, staff are pleasant. They have a catering service and a party room available as well.

Stopped in from work on a lunch break , this was so good I went two days in a row. I had the oxtails both days , they had butter beans and carrots in it . You get two sides, the sides I chose were rice and peas and plantain. The meat in the oxtail dish had so much flavor and the right amount of spice and sauce , and may i add their was a large portion . My guest had the goat roti, full of flavor , extra sauce was given on the side . If you are not familiar with roti , the best comparison would be a burrito . It was packed with goat meat and other goodies , it's a meal in itself and doesn't come with sides . For a appetizer we had the calamari , topped with this Jamaican hot spicy aioli sauce , the calamari was fried to perfection , well seasoned and tender . The ambiance in the place was nice , no one else was in there because they just opened for the day . The music (reggae) they had was amazing and truly set the tone, the owner even came out and greeted us .

Love love love their food!!! Customer service was good! Just the Togo call ordering process took like 15 Minutes when I ordered a 6 person Togo meal. Lol but the lady that works there during the lunch hour is super sweet and friendly! I have been here about 3 more times after the first time I visited. If you want a good meal? Come here!! Their goat is better than the ox tail. The ox tail barely has ANY MEAT on the bone. They shouldn't charge that much for oxtail as their is nothing but bone and fat. The goat? Is tender and the gravy is tasty!! I love their Cream spinach and coconut rice and peas!! Their cabbage is ok. Little on the oily/buttery side. In case your "watching your calories ". Their plantains are bomb too!! The prices are reasonable!! Especially if you go between 12:00pm to 3pm. They don't have can soda to go just the fountain cups( just so you know) Ooooo also they have a mini party room for weddings!! Looks super cool! I'm going to be a regular here!!

My home away from home. Greetings to the best duo to ever do it, Ms. J and D. Thank you!

On this visit, we both got selections like what we had around our early times of visiting this spot. I cannot remember what my friend got, but I ordered one of the "Feasty Specials" which had 1/2 Snow Crab Legs and 1/2 Headless Shrimp. It came with sausages (sliced in pieces), 1 Corn (about 1/4 size), 1 Egg, and 2 Potatoes (the skin easily comes off). You get to pick the seasoning and I had Old Bay. What is presented to you is a large clear bag, steamed up and tied, with seasonings and all mixed up. It is served on a metal tray, and they also place an empty bowl on your table for discarding things. Plastic bib was on, bag opened, and I was ready to dig in. The seasoning took me back to my second visit a few years ago. It was when I first tasted their Old Bay mix and became a fan of it. This Feasty Special was just enough and I was glad to switch things up for a change.

Overall, the food is good, and, in our opinion, you do get what you pay for. Keep in mind that they DO charge you if you have leftover food on your table when you are done. Be mindful of that and make sure to let them know as you are finishing up, and want more, to scale down your portion size. There is a 90-minute window to eat. The servers don't really go over the menu much, so if it is your first time for all you can eat, make sure to take notice that the crab legs do come with a few different flavor options. The bad - They started a new policy, which I understand, but do not like. If you want all you can eat, everyone who is at the table must all order it as well, or nobody can. I understand they are protecting their profits, but that has taken us away from this place on more than one occasion to eat elsewhere as some wanted it and another family members wanted to order off the main menu. Also, service can be extremely slow, and I am not sure if it is intentional or not, but we have complained more than once and made them extend our time. Last time we went, they set our first order of food down on the table and as we were eating, the waitress walked by no less then 5 times and didn't bother to ask if we wanted anything else. Then, magically, when our food was gone, we could not get anyone to come to the table for 15 minutes. Upon ordering our next round, it took another 20 more minutes for the food to arrive. They are sticklers about the 90-minute time frame, and we explained that twice this has happened and 60 minutes of our 90 minutes was wasted waiting on a server and then the food took forever. They allowed us one more round of food, which we appreciated and thought was fair. We start a stopwatch now and if we feel things are going slow, we address that with the server and sometimes put in a new order when the food is being dropped off. Overall, we are pleased to come here a few times a year. We only get all you can eat and usually are happy when we leave. The food is inconsistent as we do get the lobster tail with all you can eat, and it is usually overcooked and can chew like rubber, but still has good flavor. The crab legs sometimes come out waterlogged with salt, but most times piping hot. This is your typical "average" 3-star restaurant. If you are prepared to spend the money for all you can eat, you will leave satisfied and full, but never will you think "I wish I could come here every week". I have not ordered specific entrees off the regular menu so I cannot speak on portion size or quality of the food by ordering that way. Staff is always pleasant, but you do need to get on them if they are slacking.

Any Marylander of the Boomer and GenX generation knows about O'Donnell's RUM BUNS. I used to come here with family back in its heyday and these were served table side before our meal. How crazy is that, a nice lil somewhat sinful dessert BEFORE some MD crab?! Those were the days! The rum buns are more nostalgia more than anything, I wouldn't say they'll blow your socks off, but hey, nostalgia is nostalgia. Well, I'll need to dine in here for a full and complete verdict, but my quick grab and go visit was a tad chaotic. Service for taking orders could improve - you walk in, there's a seafood counter to your left, bakery counter to your right (both were unmanned when I walked in) and in the middle is a deli section with the cash register where I assume they take orders. We stood there for a few good minutes before getting anyone's attention despite the fact a manager asking staff (not customers) if everyone was being helped. Clearly staff did not know who was waiting to check out, take orders or just waiting for their orders to arrive. So it was just weird. No one greeting you as you walk in either, it just also weird because there's no clear line anywhere you stand. Otherwise, rum buns were as I remembered them. Also picked up crab dip and chicken salad from the grab and go section from the back and they were just ok, not bad, not great. So will come again for a future visit hoping to have a much better meal and experience!
