I have been to Oasis a countless amount of times. They never disappoint. I made a take out order of ox tails with rice and peas and cabbage. The oxtails were very tender and full of mean. Very seasoned. The rice and beans were cooked to perfection along with the cabbage which was very flavorful. The service was great. The hostess was able to take my order and I received my food within 5 minutes as they were about to close. The ambiance was nice as always. No music this time as they were about to close. I bought the BBQ wings with cabbage and creamy spinach---paid $22(rounded up). The chicken was sooooo hard. These people are know for selling left over foods and reheating them over and over. You can tell that the chicken was stale---even when you bit into it, the meat was not soft. This was complete waste of my money. They cannot cook and if they can, they do not care about quality. The cabbage was ok and the creamy spinach had a good flavor. I am a Caribbean person and know what good Jamaican foods and good foods in general taste like, but this was complete trash!!! I literally had to throw it out. But the kicker was that they drowned the chicken in the BBQ sauce as if that was going to hide the staleness and hardness. This is a cozy spot with good food and even better drinks. On Fridays they have a DJ that plays some great music. I recommend the Island Martini and Oasis Margarita. Those are so tasty. Camar is a great server and makes us feel welcome each time. We have become regulars and we will continue to stop by. I haven't had goat in so long I was craving some. I don't really like curry, when make my goat I always do it in a brown sauce. Anyhow it wasn't busy when I went. I ordered carry out and it only to like 15minutes for the food to come. They have these cute Jell-O shots so I sat and had one while I waited for my food which was nice. It was clean and wasn't busy at the time , so I looked around and obviously took pictures. When the food came out it was hot and perfect I didn't want to wait until I got home so I opened and tried it. I asked the lady who took my order to make the curry light since I don't really like it. It came out perfect, so good. The only dissatisfaction was the Mac and cheese. It didn't taste like there was any cheese which is weird. That's why I rated 4 stars Aside from that totally recommend! Well it did not disappoint me There was a young lady who served me she provided good customer service which is hard to find now days. She was patient and helpful I was indecisive on what I wanted I only eat seafood and they had great options. I ended up ordering the jerk shrimp and salmon. Everything was delicious omg and I loveeeeeeee hot sauce and they had the best home made hot sauce that I'd go back for just for that. Island Pride's Oasis claims to have the most authentic Jamaican food in the area, they are right. I have been lucky to enjoy Jamaican food in Kingston. After eating the oxtails here I almost starting speaking Patwa. The oxtails are described as melting off the bone in a rich stew with beans, carrots, bell peppers, and onions. The flavor they develop in this stew is amazing, so rich and bold. Now the oxtails are a bit expensive, the dinner is about $17 but so worth it and it includes one side. I got the creamed spinach as a side and paid extra for a side of greens. I loved the cream spinach, my mouth is watering writing this review. I also ordered a few beef patties only $2.50 each, very well seasoned and flaky. This is a low key/ hole in the wall place, there are no more than ten tables throughout the restaurant. Most people typically order to-go, so don't expect 5-star service but in general, staff are pleasant. They have a catering service and a party room available as well. read more

My guest had the goat roti, full of flavor , extra sauce was given on the side . If you are not familiar with roti , the best comparison would be a burrito . It was packed with goat meat and other goodies , it's a meal in itself and doesn't come with sides . I walked in and placed my order and waited for a short while before my food was brought to me. I ordered the jerk chicken with collard greens and Mac and cheese, a beef patty and coco bread. The beef patty and coco bread were standard yet the best tasting items from my entire order. The jerk chicken was unlike anything I'd ever had before and not in a good way. It was flavorless, yet had an unappetizing taste/appearance at the same time. The Mac and cheese was also flavorless and reminiscent of something that came from a box. The greens were also flavorless and tasted like greens from a can. Soooooo disappointed in my experience and that I paid close to $30 including tip. This is the very first time we visited this establishment. Everything we ordered was cook to perfection and had the perfect blend of spice. It gives you a kick but you can still taste the food. We got jerk wings, jerk shrimp and baffulo shrimp to start. No complaints there. For the entrees, we got curry shrimp and curry chicken. Unfortunately our only complaint is the service. Not all the service but just our waitress. She was not attentive and we have to ask for things multiple times. After asking her for the check multiple times, we had to ask another waitress if we can get our check. Then the second waitress came back and told us that our waitress told her to tell us to go up to the stand to get the check and pay for it. I was turned off by that. The food is really good except the collards greens. They should change collards greens and put callaloo on the menu instead like most Jamaican spot. Those were some of the worse collards greens I have ever tasted. They need to improve their customer service. Tables need to be wiped down before customers are seated and utensils deliver when customers get to their table. We had to ask for the utensils and drinks after we got our foods and the young waitress was very distracted, she was snacking as she took our order. She seems very unorganized. STOP SERVING STALE FOOD!!!! Normally purchase soup from the store but years back we had jerk chicken and the food did not taste fresh but reheated. Several of us noticed it and one day talking with another Patreon was told that they do serve food from the previous day from the restaurant and what times to purchase from the store to avoid purchases left over food. Well, last night my I purchased a snapper with rice and peas with cabbage and the fish was definitely old...very rubbery tasting and the color was off. We are Caribbean people and cook fish all the time and I noticed right away. More than likely cooked the day before and heated before purchasing. I go fishing, and crabbing as well as charter for Tuna so I know trust and believe I know. Caribbean people this can not be the standard and is unacceptable.
