My experience mirrors a negative review below in that I had to redo Tony's expensive work because he did not do the job to CA code requirements. It is astounding to think that on a $2k job he would try to save maybe $50 in material rather than do it to code. My husband even asked him about the wire size he was using and when confronted he says it is to code and fine. Only after he pressed it further, did he finally relent and said my husband was right but that it would be fine and the code was too strict. I'm still waiting for him to refund our money. His worker was also sloppy and messy and not very professional. This was about a year ago so I don't recall his name. If he was a dirt cheap electrician I could maybe understand his thinking, but when he charges top dollar and you get subpar and amateur quality work there is just no point in entertaining his offer for your job. Maybe he can do a ceiling light or fan, but I would not trust him to do anything that required higher gauge wire that one day might lead to your house burning down because he skimped out.

Not only that, he was able to troubleshoot the light switch problem right away. At $95 plus $20 for materials, I think he was very reasonable with his quote, as a licensed electrician. But the best part is that next time we know what to do when hanging lights again! Just keep in mind Brite Electrics has supposedly moved from Rancho Bernardo and currently located in San Marcos, but they were quick and prompt. Just be mindful that they will give you a 2-hour window to show up at your door.

He's handled everything from interior and exterior lighting to panel upgrades, EV charger installation, and even cleaning up work left behind by another contractor. No matter the job, he tells me exactly what he'll do, then does exactly what he said he would. Communication is always clear, he shows up when he says he will, and the job gets done right the first time. He's not always the cheapest and he's not the most expensive, but for the level of skill, reliability, and integrity he brings, he is worth every penny. It's hard to put my name behind referrals, especially in the trades, but Rene is probably the only contractor I recommend without hesitation or a second thought. Five stars without question.
