This doctor has turned into a mess, disregarding the care of patients, asking you to go see another doctor instead of him and denying refills that are due leaving you stranded. This doctor also has misdiagnosed my case wrong 3 times, not a deadly situation but something that could have caused additional complications if not treated properly, I ended up medicating myself and got cured. He also makes up diseases such as diabetes and heart disease which I do not have. I had to rush to a Hospital for a complete evaluation,(I have a very good insurance) and it turns out i am healthy as a horse. Be aware and take your loved ones elsewhere or yourself if you have to see a doctor. read more

**Warning: he is not accepting new patients** With that warning out of the way, he literally the best doctor I have ever had. I won't lie, at first I thought he was crazy because he would make a diagnosis before I even had tests done. I would go get the tests done, the results would come back, and sure enough he was right. He always gives his patients his full attention and truly cares about them. Sadly, no only is he not accepting new patients.... he is also reducing his practice and slowly referring patients elsewhere. My family has been going to Dr. Patel since he first opened his practice in Chandler. My husband, children, mother, father and myself are/were patients of his. Mom and husband are deceased. While they were very ill, Dr Patel made sure they had the very best care with Doctors that specialized in their illness. My husband had lung cancer in 2006. Dr. Patel offered to come to our home to check up on him. My husband was so impressed, but insisted going to his office. His staff is very professional and educated. I have referred many friends to his office because of the trust I have in him. Dr. Patel does not need to look in his notes to remember everyone's name in my family. His office takes my blood work at my well checkups, and by the following day I know my results. If anyone in my family is ill, we do not have to wait for an appointment. I took my adult daughter to see Dr Patel for the first time today due to many stomach symptoms she has had for at least 6 months. We were in the process of moving out of state, so we had to wait to have her seen until after the move. It was so stressful trying to find a good doctor in our new neighborhood! After reading other Yelpers' opinions of Dr Patel, I was thrilled to find that he was taking new patients! Dr Patel came in the exam room and within a very few minutes of LOOKING at her, really looking and listening...(amazing!) he suggested several vitamin deficiencies and possible allergies that our previous primary care physicians didn't even mention!! Blood work was ordered and performed RIGHT there by his staff - we didn't have to go to a lab or anything! He then came back in, explained his thoughts and said we would get the blood panel results directly via email!! Ish Patel is the first doctor who has genuinely cared about my health. I was seeing an endocrinologist for a hormone issue and had blood work drawn 6 months but was still waiting for my follow up appointment with them. Ish Patel requested the blood work and was able to address my concerns and went out of his way to find out what was going on even though I had to gone to him for a completely different concern. People are stating, "Dr. Patel has not released medical records of clients" After a signed release was sent from another doctor, nothing ever happened. HIPAA gives patients the right to get copies of all of their medical records. Patients also have the right to view -- usually at the medical provider's offices -- their original medical records. This may delay needed surgery. Perhaps one should consider this a warning of mismanaging your health and/or records? read more

Dr. Patel saw my husband last week for a routine physical and to look into possible reasons for high blood pressure. This was our first visit to his office and we were both very impressed with the doctor himself. He was courteous, got right to the point, and didn't sugar coat anything. The reason for three stars instead of five is because we originally booked the appointment for the 14th of May. I provided my insurance information knowing we wouldn't have to pay anything because we recently met our deductible. Plus, my insurance covers an annual physical at no charge. The young lady working the front desk, while very friendly, insisted that since our insurance still showed a small deductible left, we would have to pay $150.00 for the visit up front. She showed me paperwork from insurance showing a deductible left to meet. I logged into my insurance app from my phone and showed her that it showed $0.00 deductible. She blinked and said "Well it says here you still owe, so you're going to have to pay to see the doctor today." I asked for a copy of the paperwork. The paperwork showed clearly "There is no co-payment for this service" Next to the service code "Office Visit, Sick." I asked her to run it back through as a physical and she insisted it was the same thing. Well no, it actually isn't. I work for a company that administers benefits and I know my stuff. You're not going to jerk me around! So I told her we would not see the doctor and would be calling Insurance to straighten this out. I called insurance who confirmed that we met our deductible and they would be updating the provider services side, then called Dr. Patel's office back to reschedule the appointment since we heard such good things about him. She scheduled me for the following week. When we arrived at the office this time, another lady was working the front desk. She mentioned the deductible and I told her flat out that we had met it and I could get insurance on the phone to confirm. Based on my prior experience, I was all prepared for a fight. She shook her head and said "Nope, you said you met it. That's good enough for me." And the rest of the visit went smoothly. My husband HATES doctors, hospitals, anything medical related, so for him to come out of the appointment saying he really liked the doctor is HUGE. I recommend the doctor, but be wary of what the front desk ladies say. Make sure you know your benefits and coverage before you pay ANYTHING out of pocket. read more

Excellent experience with Dr. Patel and his staff. I was a new patient but was able to get an appointment the same day I called! The new patient form was one page and didn't require my complete medical history. I was brought back promptly and had my vitals taken by a very courteous nurse. The doctor came in immediately thereafter and examined me for my chief complaint. He took the time to explain my illness and how he was going to treat it. He also took the time to ask me about my family history of major medical diseases and if I had any other health concerns besides what he saw me for! Very professional and caring doctor. Dr. Patel is my families new Doctor! He takes care of myself my husband and my two young boys who are under the age of seven. I needed a primary care doctor for my husband and myself, and I got tired of waiting 45 minutes after my appointment time to see the boys pediatrician. Because they don't need to get any more shots till there 11 Dr.Patel can see them for every ailment or anything else. I love his calm demeanor, he explains everything very clearly, and there's no drama! His front office is a clean, no-frills place so bring something to read or to entertain your children with, but that's fine with me for consistent care that gets you in at your appointment time. read more

As a Army Combat Medic who has had the privilege of working with awesome providers not only here in the U.S. but also in Iraq, Dr. Patel in my estimation is a poor doctor. Practices text book medicine with little regard for any facts of particular case. C grade medicine at best. Misdiagnosed my wife and even after being shown proof to disprove his diagnosis he still prescribed the wrong cream, in fact he prescribed a steroid for a fungal infection, and after I showed him that it made it worse he wanted her to continue it for another few days. LOL, I have a hard time understanding why people give this guy any stars but I guess if its minor and he gets it right your impressed. A broken clock is right twice a day. One plus is he loves giving out pills so if thats what your looking for he will give it to you, even the drug you ask for provided it non-narcotic. Mr. Patel came up with interesting ways of billing my wife and I in order to increase the visit fees and the amount of them. And please be careful, he run all sorts of unnecessary diagnostics, and then charge your insurance company a ton of cash, thus destroying your benefits. The office staff is extremely rude and the nursing staff isn't pulling in any hospitality awards. a 24 year old in peak health doesn't require a full heart work-up as "routine". Another plus would be his prices, reasonably cheap, but if I have a genuine issue I would not take it to him. Case and point. If you Need pills and what you know what kind( high Blood pressure, Stroke, Sleep issues), it should work out. If you have a minor ailment and its easily diagnosed and treated, he is probably okay. If you have a health issue that you need addressed for quality of life...keep searching. read more

He takes into consideration factors like where extended family members are from, their occupations, their personalities and lifestyles and how all of that affects a patient. If I could give him no stars, I would. I recently relocated here from California and was looking for a pediatrician. I contacted his office to get my daughter in for her 4 month old shots. Appt was set up and I thought everything was okay according to his yelp reviews he seems like a legit doctor. Today we woke up and our daughters eyes are basically swollen shut. In the midst of getting her to the emergency room we call his office to get a hold of him of he was on call. After telling him the situation, all I keep getting asked is who would set up the appt for my daughter.. And asking information about insurance. This was already discussed before we chose him as a pediatrician. He tells me over the phone that he doesn't take babies. I love Dr. Patel. He has been the best physician I've ever had in USA. I get appointments quickly in case of urgency. He not only listens to the problem but also takes extra precautionary measures (being extra thorough). Some doctors will just give you medicine for whatever symptoms you tell them but Dr. Patel will ensure that you are cured of not only that disease but don't have any other issues either. If you tend to avoid medicines then you'd need to tell him and he can work with you. read more

I'm not a fan of how Dr. Patel practices medicine. It appears he diagnoses conditions by prescribing medicine and then sees if it helps the condition. When I saw him he "guessed at" my condition, prescribed medication, and told me to come back in a couple weeks to see if I had any improvement. I say "guessed at" because no blood tests were done. I doubted his assumption so I took it upon myself to get a blood test and as I predicted the test came back fine, meaning I didn't have the condition. I'm very glad I didn't take prescription medication for something I didn't have! I'm not sure if this is the standard practice nowadays as I don't go to the doctor much, if so, I think that is sad. I'm usually not one to complain but I thought maybe Dr. Patel will read this and therefore become more thorough with his diagnostic techniques in the future. read more

I have been going to Dr Patel through 3 different insurance providers and while without. He is very thorough and almost always can take me right away. He does not just give scrips because I ask for them, I have to have a need which is good. I was addicted to pain killers long before I met him and with some outside help and some non narcotic pain/nerve type pills I got off the oxy and similar. He also helped me with my over all well being etc. as I turned 50 this year and I had gotten out of shape etc. His office staff is always very nice to me and I don't think I've had any billing etc. problems either. This has never happened to me with lab results, ever lol.
