Everyone was so amazing here, from front office staff, to nurses, and ultimately Dr Nguyen - she sold me, and I decided this is where I wanted my girl to come going forward. Their failure led to 24 hours of agonizing pain for my infant and long term health effects. He was vomiting the night before at 3 am. I called requesting an appointment that same day. First the person assisting me made it seem normal that an 8 month old throws up and acted as if I was overreacting. During the phone call, he vomited and I said I am coming in. No doctor office should make a mother feel like she's overreacting. Period. At the time I thought it was a stomach bug. Dr. Nguyen confirmed it could just be a stomach bug. I thought it was weird how she didn't check my son's diaper but I didn't question the doctor because I thought that maybe there was different physical evaluations when a baby is sick. I wish I said something...I went home and that night my son continued to vomit. All night in agonizing pain. I called the next day and informed them swelling on my son's testicles. This time the person I called to schedule another appointment said to go to the ER. My son ended up with testicular torsion and almost lost a testicle. This is a situation that every minute counts. A full 24 hours passed and my son could have been in surgery. He could have had lesser issues with the testicle that was twisting. Dr. Nguyen failed my son and cut corners. I called to inform the office what happened weeks later. While I respect that Dr. Nguyen called me to say to discuss the extreme miss. She verified that every minute counts with testicular torsion. Being in surgery a full 24 hours earlier could have changed the outcome of my son's health. She is not diligent in her role as an advocate for children. Particularly children that cannot speak. She should have caught that. I've talked to other pediatricians about her care and they said she cut corners and testicular torsion is a hot topic in school. It's difficult for me to think that she only cut corners with my son and he so happened to be extremely ill. I've sat on this review for weeks to ensure that I give a fair review. I think it's important to call out the doctor who failed my son. I thought about not saying her name. I hope she grows from this and learns by failure. However, I would not put my trust in them. She informed me they will review their policies to ensure diligence but it's too late for my son.

Furthermore, my newborn had issues nursing and would take 45+ mins to finish a bottle. When inquiring about potential mouth ties I was told most people just make it up and got a referral to a feeding specialist. When I came back for my babies next check and shared she had her lip, check, and tongue ties released and was nursing successfully now I was treated like I was dumb and just another person who fell for the hoax. Truthfully as parents we want the best for our kids and have the responsibility to do so. Unfortunately it feels like this company has zero tolerance for anyone who thinks or even questions differently than them. Parenthood is already hard find a provider who can educate and still be respectful.

DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR / OFFICE…read more I gave this office a second chance after my initial experience, and unfortunately, it only confirmed my concerns. At our first visit, the doctor examined my newborn and performed an oral exam but failed to mention that my baby had a misaligned jaw. I later saw an independent lactation specialist (not affiliated with this office), who identified the issue immediately. When I brought this up at a follow-up appointment, the doctor told me -- verbatim -- "It's not my job to point that out. That's a chiropractor's job." That response alone was incredibly concerning. I chose not to see him again and scheduled with another provider in the office. That experience was just as disappointing. As a first-time mom, I felt completely dismissed and invalidated. When I explained that I was pumping, not directly breastfeeding, I was met with a negative and discouraging response instead of support or guidance. The appointment felt rushed, and very little time was spent actually assessing my baby. Instead, the majority of the visit focused on vaccines. If you are looking for a provider who is open to discussion or alternative approaches, this is not the place. You are either expected to vaccinate or repeatedly sign forms declining, and it dominates the conversation. I also shared concerns about my baby possibly having reflux and my lack of sleep. The response I received was: "All babies have reflux -- get used to not sleeping." That was incredibly dismissive and unhelpful. Additionally, this office seems very quick to push procedures like tongue tie and lip tie revisions. Rather than exploring root causes (such as tension, alignment, or feeding mechanics), it felt like they default to procedures that align with their specialty. Overall, the care felt impersonal and transactional -- like being part of a system rather than receiving individualized attention. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for care if you want providers who listen, investigate thoroughly, and support you as a parent. The two doctors mentioned are: 1st situation - Dr. Zafar 2nd situation - Dr. Laurie Jones Awful doctors!

Today I had…read morean appointment for my newborn at the chandler location due to now living closer to that location. On arrival I was informed there was an issue with my childs insurance. While the young lady was looking to see the issue, I watch and hear her whisper my last name and giggle to the other person at the front desk . My last name is uncommon and is easily one that could be made fun of. I'm aware of this as it's been my last name my entire life, I don't normally care if other people do. I myself do. However it was extremely unprofessional for her to do so. Not only to another colleague, but in front of my face thinking I could not hear nor see her as I was literally standing at the check in iPad. I proceeded to called our incurrence to resolve the issue. They had made a mistake that would need to be resolved and I needed to call another number. But in the mean time I was told my newborn checkup could be billed to my insurance. I let the young lady at the front desk know this and said she would just need to call the provider service to confirm, As this is what I was told to have her do. She said she wouldn't do that. An continues to say "you can just pay out of pocket" in a very unprofessional way . I said let me call the other number and see if I can get this resolved, while waiting she kept glaring at myself and husband and making comments to the other lady with her * I felt uncomfortable and treated poorly. I decided to leave. As a stressed. Sleep deprived, mom suffering with postpartum I don't deserve the attitude or unprofessionalism I was given today. When I left I called Scottsdale and right away I was helped, the lovely young lady I spoke with was happy to call the provider service . And get this resolved. I was in fact able to get it billed to my insurance while waiting for our babies information to be fixed. Sadly I can't get in for a few days, but was able to get an appointment made. If the young lady at the chandler location had done her job we would have been able to be seen today as planned. Rather she refused and decided to be rude and unprofessional. I hope when choosing who should be the first to interact with the patient they choose more welcoming and Supportive individual. I have recommended Agave Pediatrician to many people and I will continue to do so. However, I will never recommend the chandler location because of this young lady, I wouldn't want anyone I know to deal with someone like her .

The exam rooms were outdated, with decor and unstable chairs that looked like they hadn't been updated since the early 2000s. When Dr. Curran finally entered, he slammed every door, cabinet, and item he touched, creating a very unsettling environment. He began the visit by asking me how I was doing, but immediately cut me off mid-answer to start another question. During the exam, without asking, he suddenly took a Q-tip and fished out the last of my newborn's drying umbilical cord. Since then, my baby's belly button has been bleeding for over a week. He also referred us to a urologist for a circumcision, saying they would call us, but no one ever did. When we followed up, we learned Dr. Curran had told the urologist our baby had a diagnosis we were never informed of, forcing us to schedule a separate diagnostic appointment before even addressing the circumcision. This was extremely concerning, especially because no one in the hospital ever mentioned this "diagnosis," and a second opinion confirmed there was no issue at all. To make matters worse, when we called the office to report the bleeding and ask about the urologist issue, we were told Dr. Curran would call us back. It's been over 5 days and we never received that call. This has been the worst doctor experience I have ever had. I would never recommend Dr. Curran or this office to anyone.

It's nearly impossible to get a check-up appointment in a timely manner--every time I've tried, the earliest available slot is at least two months out. This year, they confirmed the appointment just the day before, and I even took time off work to make sure I could get there. NO ONE in a "professional medical position" should ever mix personal political belief with medical opinions or advice. I was absolutely floored with my experience and was very quickly dismissed by her after her meltdown about "the next administration and RFK jr.". To add, I never once asked her for ANY of that information or her opinion.. simply just stated that my partner and I were interested in spacing out or pausing on vaccinations/ boosters for a bit until we decided if we wanted to proceed. All in all a very horrible experience and one I hope she can learn from. I've worked in professional settings and I could never imagine doing that to another person.
