I really can't say it more clearly than that. My color looks natural- but better than that with a few highlights. I have gray roots and come in 1/month without missing! The salon is not pretentious- just open and cool. Brett and Jackson seem to attract a laid back but focused clientele that want professional cuts and color. It fits in well in Bucktown. On-line booking is another advantage!

I was looking for full-coverage highlights that would make me as blonde as possible, and that's exactly what I got. For context: I have very long and thick hair. Over the years of getting highlights, I've found that it's hit or miss whether a stylist/salon can give me the full-coverage look I want, since for my hair that takes a lot of time (like 4 or 5 hours) and requires a TON of product. Not every stylist is willing or able to go above the standard number of foils and devote that kind of time, which is totally understandable. But it makes me all the more grateful/impressed when I find a stylist like Nick who is willing to go above and beyond (he spent more than four hours on my hair) to achieve a perfect end result. I was also shocked by how affordable the price was. In my opinion, the quality of Nick's work was on par with some of the most expensive highlights I've ever gotten (and I usually end up paying way above base price since most salons up-charge based on the amount of product your hair requires). But even including tip, the total I paid here was remarkably affordable compared to other salons I've been to. In short, I strongly recommend booking an appointment with Nick if you're someone like me who has very thick hair and wants full-coverage highlights!

She is an absolute joy to work with and she truly listened to my concerns and gave me an outstanding cut. I love how it turned out and she was so pleasant to sit in a chair and chat with for an hour. The salon is really clean and bright, and everyone I encountered was friendly. I'll definitely be back to Abby, she was such a gem and I am so pleased with how my hair turned out.

Now I have to go somewhere else to get a proper layered haircut. Honestly, I was never all that impressed with this salon to begin with, and now I understand why. The staff isn't very friendly, especially the front desk receptionist and Pam (the owner) tends to stay in the back, avoiding customers at all costs. When issues come up, (I had a complaint once) she comes across as dismissive and rude. Overall, this place is a pass for me.
