The lanes were clean, the music was good, and it actually felt like a place you can hang out for a while and not get bored The food honestly surprised me in the best way. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders with fries, plus extra fries with sodas and lemonade and everything came out hot and really good. It did not feel like typical bowling alley food at all What really stood out to me is that they do catering and have rooms you can rent for events. They can host up to 200 guests and have options for all kinds of parties like birthdays, anniversaries, corporate events and more. I visited this bowling alley recently and had a pretty mixed experience. The facility itself is great, the lanes were clean, the equipment worked well, and the overall atmosphere was fun. Five stars for Irvine lanes! It seem like they were so many anniversaries and birthdays, people celebrating a wonderful time here at Irvine lanes. They made it extremely pleasant and inviting, for all these celebrations. We went as a group of 20 individuals, who were having a marvelous time bowling. This is my family's go to bowling spot. It's never been extremely packed (on Mondays they do have leagues come in but it only took up about half the lanes) and it's conveniently located right next to Boomers. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is (1) I don't trust the food... which just sucks as bowling is something you like to sit and enjoy for a while and having a reliable kitchen would make me stay much longer. (2) The staff by all means isn't the worst i've interacted with, but they're not the best. Clean and nice bowling alley located off the west side of the 405 freeway between Jamboree and Culver on Harvard. You can reserve online but it's the same price as in person but you're guaranteed a lane that way. To rent a lane for 90 minutes for up to 6 people costs $60. The only thing I didn't like was that it is all computerized where right at the 90 minute time from your reservation the entire lane and game shuts down. This was annoying because we paid for 90 minutes but went to the snack bar first then went to the bathroom and then got and ate some snacks so we didn't start bowling right at our reservation start time and thus got ripped off because we didn't know our time started right away or we would have instead started bowling immediately and gotten snacks later. We assumed our 90 minutes started from the time we started bowling but be warned it doesn't!!!! It starts from the time you reserve at the counter. So DON'T go get food, and don't go to the bathroom! Basically just walk in and bowl immediately because your time starts immediately but we didn't know that and hence missed out on like 20 minutes of bowling by standing in line, waiting for our food m, going to the bathroom and then eating our food and then the entire bowling lane literally powered down and shut off right in the middle of bowling and no one told us it would do that. We all regretted wasting time standing in line and getting then eating food since we felt like the bowling alley just wanted our money then tried to make us pay extra if we wanted to finish our game. Not cool!! The food from the snack bar was tasty and reasonably priced! We shared onion rings, French fries and fluffy large pretzels and all were yummy. Shoe rental is $6 a person and they are fairly new and seem well cleaned and not too skuzzy. If I do return here I will go to the bathroom and get food AFTER I bowl so I don't get our actual bowling time starting and ending prematurely. The bowling alley was 80% empty and we'd gotten food from the bowling alley restaurant so it wouldn't have hurt them to be kind and let us finish our game especially since the majority of us were kids who were super sad & disappointed! :-( read more

Great summer deal right now!! They're offering a Summer Pass for $29.99, which lets you bowl 2 games per day until Sept 1. The pass also includes daily shoe rental (normally $6 every time you bowl) and 10% off food and drinks, so the value is definitely there. I hadn't bowled here in over a year, but I've been many times before, and I always appreciate how clean the facilities are, especially compared to other bowling alleys. It wasn't too crowded on Sundays and they have more upgraded/new equipment (huge TVs and fun features/effects on the monitor). Pins have to be reset a few times though. During the workweek, we stopped by for an office team building event, and we almost had the entire venue to ourselves. There are over 20 lanes, and each can accommodate team of 8 players. There are plenty of parking spaces. The front entrance has 8+ different vending machine of games for younger kids to try their luck in grabbing prizes. The counter is supported by one gentleman to check in each party and confirm lane assignment. We were provisioned shoes. The shoes do show wear and tear, as my pair had the laces worn down to the edge, making it impossible to tie them. The lane displayed screen is nice but having a bit of music (in the background) would have been nice to get everyone to enjoy the atmosphere. The area is decent and clean. The bathroom does need some cleaning as the paper dispenser is not working and water splashed all over the countertop. read more

Probably the nicest bowling ally in Orange County. Very clean, and customer service was good when we asked to switch lanes to avoid being next to a bigger party. High price compared to other alleys, but I think the galaxy nights are worth it. I think a group of 4-6 should buy 1.5-2 hours because we could only get 1.5 games done in the one hour slot. Super crowded here during summer time but luckily the parking lot is huge. Came by at 6:30 and every lane was full and people were waiting for lanes to open up. Luckily we had a reservation! Overall, this place could probably use a bit of a refresh. It's high on nostalgia which is fun but it's also a bit dated as a result. I do appreciate that our lanes were pretty clean so I do think they're taking good care it's just not very fresh, they probably need to replace the carpet. Now for the minor hiccup the ball return was a bit slow, and some of the bowling balls have seen better days. A few had cracks and didn't roll as smoothly as I'd like, which took away from the experience just a bit. Irvine Lanes has been around for a long time and I'm glad they're still in business. I visited with my family a couple of months ago to celebrate my dad's birthday, and everyone had a really great time. I don't bowl often (I'm impressively awful at it) so I don't have many points of comparison, but the facility is clean and the prices seem reasonable. You can make a reservation ahead of time if you want, but there are plenty of lanes and we didn't have to wait. I can't comment on the food/drinks as we did not order any, but I overall recommend a visit! read more

The hubs and I took our kids and our niece bowling at Irvine Lanes. It's definitely less trendy and hip than Bowlero BUT we thoroughly enjoyed the no frills lanes. Dropped by the other day on the weekday afternoon when it wasn't as crowded. Located next to the Boomers nearby UCI and has plenty of parking. They charge by the hour and not per person at a rate of $40. Shoe rentals are about $7. It's ideal to come in a bigger group since they charge per lane. There's plenty of lanes available as well as a small arcade, bar, and eatery that serves snacks and basic foods such as pizza or sandwiches. The lanes seemed to be well maintained and I enjoyed when they shifted to more colorful lights later in the afternoon. Some of the bowling themes on the screen are a little dated but not a big issue. This spot is on the pricier side if you come when they don't have a special going but you're bound to have a good time. Solid yearly bowling outing. read more

The young ladies at the front desk are friendly and make you feel like you just walked into Cheers, where everybody knows your name, especially when you go there every day! 2. Best lane conditions ANYWHERE! today I went for practice and rolled a 719 series! We attended a kids birthday party here recently and had a great time. The bowling alley was very nice and clean. As soon as we finished, workers quickly started working on cleaning and disinfecting the area. They were well staffed and we're always quick to respond when a bowling ball would end up where it wasn't supposed to be. There were two other parties going on at the same time and it never felt over crowded. Appears to be an easy and fun option for a kids birthday party. My 8 & 5 year old both had a lot of fun and there were plenty of lightweight balls for the kiddos. The kids' shoes were also in good condition. There are plenty of parking spaces. I had a group of 4 people playing, and it was $18 per person (including shoe rentals) for one hour. You can make reservations or walk in. We just walked in. We didn't realize the hour was going to be speeding by, so we were able to play almost 2 games within an hour. Once you get your shoes, your clock starts, so don't waste too much time looking for bowling balls...which was what we did. We didn't realize we spent basically 15 minutes looking for bowling balls and just taking our time. I do wish they told us when our timer starts once we got our shoes. I asked the restaurant staff if they give a military discount and they said yes they do. The restaurant manager came over and said that I wasn't a military veteran and my license looked fraudulent when I showed him my veteran status that is on my license. He said I was fighting with him when I simply asked to receive a military discount. He said I didn't deserve the military discount because, he thinks I was never in the military. He told his worker not to fight with me. I thought that was funny because I was not combative at all, he ended up just giving me the discount so I would leave his sight. He needs to be fired for assuming a woman can't be in the military, for saying my drivers license looked fraudulent and for disrespecting a veteran of the United States Army. If he needed for me to prove my veteran status (other than showing him my veteran status that is clearly on my license), I would have been more than willing to bring in my DD214 form. But, I doubt he would have even believed that. I'm very disappointed that you would allow such an individual to work with the public. read more

From the perspective of a middle-aged couple (myself and my wife), I wanted to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the current employees' customer service and lack of consideration for others. We have visited Irvine Lanes several times, including a few weeks ago with our 3 kids. However, they seem to have replaced the former nice employees with some not-so-considerate new employees; when the 2 of us walked in today - for the purpose of enjoying a 1-hour bowling match together - we were placed in a lane under a speaker blasting rock music at unpleasantly loud levels. Why?! What is the purpose of distracting customers from focusing on their bowling match performance, forcing them to yell over blasting music, and potentially endure headaches in the aftermath. We requested that they lower the volume; they refused, replying "We can't do that, but we'll ask the manager when he gets in." I highly doubt they are physically incapable of turning down the music volume - as a kindergartener would likely have been to figure out how to this, and they clearly never asked the manager to accommodate our request. The best they would offer was to switch us to a different lane. The volume was still quite loud, akin to an attacker whom - when we beg him/her to stop punching us in the jaw, replies "Okay," but proceeds to knock the air out of us with a punch to the abdomen. 2 of our own kids also have special needs, and given that they are treating us this badly as a middle-aged couple without our kids present, we surely have no intention of coming here again, all the more so as a fivesome. These people have lost our business, and I strongly recommend to refrain from giving them yours. There are plenty of other bowling alleys throughout Orange County. read more

I think our experience would've been more positive if the kids didn't keep running into our lane and taking our bowling balls. We managed to fit in 3.5 games within and hour. The male employee was cleaning unoccupied lanes, and well I felt like eyes were on us because we stayed after our hour finished to take photos and he couldn't wait to just clean our lane while we took selfies. Since many bowling places have closed down, due to COVID-19 this was the only place that we found open to enjoy a nice game of bowling. If you decide to come on a weekend (even during day time) then be prepared to pay $40/hour no matter what. No bars or food area open because we did arrive during the day around 2-3pm, after our game they were setting up for cosmic bowling. It looked pretty cool if we had waited about 2 hours longer to enjoy that. Terrible Manager. He opened the doors for us when they opened at 10am & immediately had an attitude. Myself & 2 kids said Good Morning with smiles on our faces & he proceeds to roll his eyes at us and say nothing in return. Ok, I thought he must be having a bad day already so let it slide. However he then told me my small dog on a leash was not allowed in (I had purposely called the day before and was told dogs are absolutely allowed as long as they are leashed and not threatening). I told him as much and offered to show him my cell phone call log to prove it. In reply-he stated that he doesn't know who said that and that's wrong. Pretty sure as the Manager the fault here would be on you for not training your employees correctly.
