Forest Lanes is a good spot for a fun, laid-back bowling night, not too fancy--just a good time. The lanes are generally clean and well maintained. I just wish they have smaller balls for petites like me. Food and drinks are classic bowling-alley style--pizza, wings, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and bar drinks that hit the spot while you're playing. We had fun with the cheese pull. Attended a bowling tournament for the 2nd time here. I've been to many bowling alleys around the US and this is fairly set up well and appears to be well maintained. Pretty open and plenty of space. Since we were there all day Saturday, I opted to each lunch there during our break. While their food/snack bar offers the basic fare, they do offer some healthy choices you don't find in many alleys and that is a few salad options. Definitely, a lot of food on the plate and competitively priced for this type of venue. I chose the Cobb Salad, everything tasted fresh and their dressing is well seasoned. Decided to have a spontaneous night out with my husband at Forest Lanes, and overall it was a great experience! I do have a few small critiques the lanes didn't feel oily enough, the bowling shoes weren't the most comfortable, and it would've been nice if the music was played a little louder to add to the vibe. Aside from that, I really enjoyed my time here. The customer service was excellent, the front desk staff were super friendly, and everything from the lanes to the tables was clean and well-maintained. I bowled my first individual tournament over the weekend at Forest Lanes and it was an absolute adventure. The bowling center is medium size and the lanes are well kept. I had a blast and met new friends and reconnected with old friends. It's the power of bowling and I recommend everyone try this amazing sport. The Pro Shop here is best in class. We went bowling here last week and I had to repeat three full times to your front staff what I needed. He wasn't busy, he was just totally uninterested in even trying to represent the company in a positive light. Like it's not that hard, one lane for an hour, two shoe rentals. Came here a few times with the family and liked that it wasnt packed. Basic bowling alley, nothing fancy. Monday nights they have unlimited bowling from 9pm - 12am for $12/pp that includes the shoe rental. Have to reserve a lane online though. As bowling alleys are closing due to dwindling interest in the past time, one way Forest Lanes is attempting to stay alive is by charging more to people who book online reservations. They don't mention that it's more expensive when booking online, so when we realized we were overcharged $35 for absolutely nothing, the manager on duty told us there was nothing he could do. Pretty sure he could do something but all he could say was "if I do something for you, I'd have to do something for everyone." Yes, you could start by not charging people more when booking online! When it is raining outside, how else can we entertain kids but go bowling? Forest Lanes are open to bowlers by reservation only. The entrance is closed to prevent walk-ins. To maintain social distancing, they opened every other Lane for bowling, every other chairs in the sitting area, and plenty markers on the floor that are 6' apart. Reservations are 15 minutes apart. We booked an hour and half for our party and the price cover shoes rental too. The check-in was very smooth and we started our games prompto. There is a count-down clock on the score board to remind you of time remaining. We were asked to leave everything as-is. And the score board changed to a sweep icon to let its worker know to clean up for the next party. Overall, I am very satisfied with their safety protocol. Nice job! read more

We are longtime Saddleback Lanes people and were fully prepared to hate on everything about this location. We were shocked to find that the food all pretty much tasted the same and in talking to the employees, learned that the ownership was the same. While the ambiance was not a direct 1:1, the experience was cool and both locations offer something different from the other. These lanes are preferential when it comes to the way I throw with light oil, but your ball will come back with dings and gouges EOD. They have something going on. Other places and leagues I bowl in except with chaparral lanes in San Dimas I have never had issues with my balls getting damaged. A free resurface is a nice gesture on a new ball, except that ball was new and now has less life expectancy. A more positive note, the people are great, the staff is great, and #DisoLife. The service was bad. The bowling pins would not reset and we had to talk to the workers twice. First time it worked but then second time we talked to them about the pins not resetting we waited for 15 minutes and nothing. No sign of help at all. To add it on top some old guy told us to move our stuff because they were going to play in our lanes even though we had reserved them earlier in the day. We had a family party there last Friday night. The party room was pretty big and we had a taco man outside making the food. The temperature was set to 75 but with all the people there and us dancing it got pretty hot. I went to ask the workers if they could turn it down to 70, he said he couldn't but would text the owner. Bowl here quite often during open bowling. It tends to get warmer than desired when you are bowling alone or a twosome during open bowling from noon on. They do have lane overhead fans that help that you can turn on manually. For the most part, the lanes and equipment are good and in working order. read more

All the other bowling lanes were booked till 9pm on a Saturday, but Forest Lanes had openings..At 7:00pm, had to reserve our lane online.. up to 5 people per lane. For 1hr30m of unlimited bowling, was $90. So if you bowl alone it's expensive... but 5 people at $15 each can easily get in 3 games.. for $10 more add 30 mins... The balls are not scattered all of the place, they start at 14# and are separated down to 6#, so it's easy to find a ball and get to work. There are servers" aka food runners that will bring you food, but there's a gratuity prior to reserving. Otherwise you get your food/ drinks. The one cool thing about this place and I'm sure it's everywhere, but they have like 10+ games you can do to have more of a competitive night. I was at a bowling alley in Texas.. they do a ROCKIN BOWL nite on Saturday just like here, but they put a light on each lane that lite up the markers in each alley to help "professional " bowlers rack up their 280-300 pin night, here it's pitch black with lights going everywhere and in my party a few wished that was possible because that's what they like, I'm more of how oily the ball is and how slick the lanes are and I adjust my ball drop and spin.. to get my 180-200 avg.. They played most Rap, with R&B.. only.. I was hoping for country, rock, etc but that's not what the kids today want, even though there was mostly families or older (30-40's) couples on dates here.. just a note, Each lane has a TV for sports- and one for score if you don't share a lane, otherwise both TV's are for each lane. Food here was descent and above avg.. But we are before and just grabbed French fries and nachos to pick at.. they serve pitchers of beer, but not pitchers of soda.. a small means a few arcade games and the claw machine at the entrance.. for kids who don't wanna bowl. Parking is good with two areas to accommodate both entrances. Bowling has got so expensive along with everything else. You pretty much have to book in advance. It was $85 or $89 for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Your time starts at reserved time. I booked a lane for 8pm arrived about 15 minutes before 8pm. We went to the bar to get drinks to enjoy while we bowled. They had 1 bar tender for the entire bowling alley. It took 20 minutes to get a pitcher of beer which took about 15 minutes out of the time we had paid to bowl. The bar tender was apologetic and nice but 20 minutes to get a pitcher of beer is insane. I went to the front desk to ask if they could give us 15 minutes more on the lane before we started bowling. The guy said he could do 10 mins. I can do math; he added 5 minutes based on when our lane shut off. Didn't go back up to the front desk because I was over it. If you're going to pay this much for something you should get your full time. Also it asks you to tip when you book. For what? read more

Its been a long time since I was here. The place was updated. Its all digital now with a nice little snack bar. Everything was clean, bathrooms, lanes, countertops, etc. The only negatives were they were not quick to sanitize lanes after they were done being used. As a result, they ended up putting people next to us on both sides when there were clear lanes beyond them that would have put them next to no one. I didnt understand the logic here, as this makes us have to wait on neighbor bowlers AND forced us to be near people with the Covid crap still going on. The other black mark was the price. Holy crap I couldnt believe the cost when I saw it, FIFTY DOLLARS A HOUR. That is insane!! Granted I havent been bowling in a long while but that is WAY higher than when I last bowled a handful of years ago. I thought $30 a hour was too high then as well!
