We were greeted by a few team members behind the counter who got us checked in and got us all shoes. So easy! We worked up an appetite and ordered food and drinks from Lebowski's. The staff there were just as awesome, the food hit the spot, and the service was fast and friendly despite it being a packed Friday night. We had a minor issue with an under cooked (in our opinion) hot dog, which they offered to replace with an 'extra crunchy' version :-) So nice! The best part? We spent an evening laughing, cheering, throwing the occasional gutter ball (okay... several), and making great family memories. My husband and I went to Saddleback Bowling, which I found out has the same owners as Forest Lanes. It's definitely a nice upgrade! I love how clean the place is, and the bowling shoes are way more comfortable than the ones at the other location. The only thing I didn't love were the bowling balls not my favorite but everything else was great. We went here on a Tuesday night to take advantage of the Cyber Monday/Tuesday deal. You cannot beat $12 per person for 2 hours of bowling! It's only available from 9 pm to 11 pm but it's a killer deal. The bowling alley is clean and well maintained. There are countless bowling balls of every weight so you don't have to worry about going up or down for your play style. The food counter was closed so I can't comment on the food quality or prices, however, the bar was open and the drinks are reasonably priced. Staff: Wow! Everyone was so nice! From the time we called in to set up the b day party a couple of months back, to calling back to change the date, to the actual event. Unfortunately, no one wears a name tag so I can't give the names of the amazing staff but overall we were very pleased. Event: We opted for the birthday "strike package". This included one large pizza and pitcher of soft drink per lane, full decorations (table clothes, balloons, plates, cups), and we added game cards for the arcade. Value: Reasonable considering what a nice, clean, fun, modern, and pleasant experience. Overall: I highly recommend doing parties here as they did a great job of making the special day special for your loved one. Just having to show up and they do all the work is such a convenience. Went on a Thursday night, it was pretty quiet when we got there at 5:30pm. However after 30 minutes it started filling up. It's a good thing we made reservations beforehand. The balls marked 8 lbs differed in weight. We had 3 of the 8 pound balls and one was heavier than the others. The food was decent, I loved the onion rings and funnel cake fries. What a fun bowling alley! We stopped by to join one of their beginner leagues, and were making up the first week (there wasn't any League this week because of an event, but since we didn't show up the first week we were unaware). The people working at the front desk remembered us calling prior, and helped us get set up for our make up week. The lanes and system are nice, and these are probably my favorite house balls that I've bowled with! Wednesday 1/2 off cyber deal is poppin' if you reserve online. All lanes and some birthday parties were happening when we got there and checked in for our 3 reserved lanes. As another reviewer mentioned, the tip section that comes up should be optional or removed because the clerks who check you in just give you your bowling shoes like any other place. Just a casual point to your lanes which already have your name and not a friendly point, I might add. I could've redirected my $11 tip elsewhere. The snack bar person, Brandon, took my large $200 group order (thankfully, I reallocated my cyber lane savings) and delivered to my lanes with just a couple hiccups (no plates nor napkins)... we accompanied him back to the snack station to wait for him to find plates. Come here almost every Wednesday or Tuesday and I always get a two large Shirley Temple and I never have an issue. The guy in there is always so nice but today I ended up getting my two Shirley Temple and I wanted a salad because I was hungry today and the salad was delivered. I started eating it and I noticed the lettuce was brown. So I kindly went up to the food runner and was like hey my lettuce is brown and she laughed at me and told me to go to the counter so I proceeded to go to the counter to talk to the gentleman that I talked to earlier when I ordered my food. And I let him know that the lettuce is brown and I was showing him the lettuce and he told me the lettuce is brand new and he just cut it this morning and I was like OK. Well it looks brown to me and he started to argue with me and started yelling at me and told me to go and talk to the bigger manager. That is completely ridiculous. We have been going to this bowling place for almost a year every year. Now is a new manager. Don. The new manager has a guy name John and he's been harassing me and giving me dirty looks the whole time I am there. Just last week someone gave me their remaining time they had in their lane so I was practicing my bowling and this old guy noticed what I was doing and shut it down again he gave me a mean look when I told him what was he was doing and I told him to turn it on and with his mean voice he said he was going to talk to his manager. So I got it backed on while the whole time he couldn't keep his angry eyes off of me.. So I asked someone for his name and last name to report him. This is a great local bowling alley. Lanes are in good condition and they have good tech for the bowling games. Fun options for 5 and 10 frame games with single or double throws. The system even connects with your phone to upload photos of your players. You can reserve online so you know you will have a lane when you arrive too. On the food. Good wings and tots. First time at this place, meeting a bunch of friends, ready to have fun. They all had shoes already, so I got in the line to get mine. The moment I stepped in front of the counter, this old man with white hair, white beard and a pony tail, turned his back and stepped away, starting talking to another guy. I am waiting for him to finish his conversation, but I could tell he was ready to give me this nasty attitude ( no idea why, as I didn't even get to open my mouth) but he seemed very arrogant. Finally he comes back and he is there looking at the computer screen, not making any eye contact, although I am obviously waiting for him to observe me. I decided to not ruin my night, smiled and said I was with the group at lane 9, but i didn't get a chance to finish my sentence, and he snaps back: What do you want? I said shoes obviously. What size, he asks. I tell him the size, and he snaps again: I don't know what you want. I replied, right now, less of an attitude, and that was the moment when the other older guy stepped in and gave me the shoes, looking embarrassed by the way this dude was behaving. Back to my group, I tell my friends about the experience I had with this guy, and everybody commented he was rude with people in line and them as well. Somebody needs to tell this dude that he is not a DMV employee, and customers take his attitude one time, and then they find another place, which is exactly what we are going to do. I am remiss for having not posted a review yet. My son celebrated his 10th birthday party at Saddleback lanes the week before Christmas. This birthday party was his best yet. The package was an incredible value, the kids enjoyed the food included. The staff made everything so nice and easy and you could tell that they really cared about your experience. All I had to do was show up and have fun. I do recommend that you add the game cards to your package for the arcade. That was a highlight for the boys, and there was enough time to enjoy the arcade, the full amount of time bowling And eat/have cake and even open presents. The souvenir bowling pin that has guests got to sign was another highlight. If you are looking to throw a birthday party, that is fun and affordable, please consider Saddleback lanes. Very easy to reserve your lane & pay online. One hour & 20 minutes for $75 which is cheap compared to Bowlero in Tustin. It was clean, the rental shoes were in good condition & the staff was prompt & helpful when we messed up on our electronic game choice. Nice mix of throwback music. The lighting was awesome. You can bring in your own birthday cake which we did. The high top table behind the lane was perfect to serve up the cake. If the bar is closed you can still order beer from the snack bar. I stopped by due to heavy traffic to watch the Sunday night football game. They have a nice viewing area w big screen TVs. I ordered a Chicago style hot dog and fries. Thats where the downfall was. The hot dog was served oddly in a bowl with, among other items, a half grilled bun, oversized chunks of tomato and ROUND slices of red onions that couldn't possibly fit properly on a hot dog bun. The dog was low quality, not Vienna beef. It was the most disappointing take on a Chicago hot dog I had experienced. It forced me to Menchie's yogurt to ensure some satisfaction. I had my little gals 7 year old birthday party here and everyone had a great time! The actual facility is pretty updated, clean, and the bar/restaurant is a great add on to the bowling alley- it looks like an actual restaurant! We ordered a bunch of pizzas and chicken tendies and they were all really good (for bowling alley pizza). The hubby also said he saw them actually make it, so it wasn't frozen woop woop! It was still about $75 a lane for 1 hr 20 mins, but hey, it's not Bowlero where they charge over a hundred. Next time we'll go on a Wed where they have half off, if you rsvp online! read more

Asked if we could bowl because it was 8:50 pm and basically got told no even though they are open til 10 pm. Got told the employees are leaving at 945 pm and the guy i was talking too at 10pm and that we could only bowl for maybe 35 minutes so we left and went to Lucky Strike. Terrible customer service. Pricing is pretty crazy, but I suppose most bowling alleys are pricey nowadays. However, if you're charging that much maybe have better customer service, and more balls available (in lower weights). Also, consider not telling customers to share the ball with the neighboring guests when each guest is paying by the hour. We're paying by the hour, not to sit and be patient while we wait for our ball to be returned so we can play. Never coming back here.
