Couple of young were working today when I went in. This is my second time coming to this shop. These guys were not helpful. I needed my seat adjusted. One guy said he can lower 1/2 when the other guy chirped in and said no. They were very rude to me and not willing to help. the business owner is Asians. The whole store is racist. my skin is brown but I'm American with Native American, white and some Hispanic. 75 % white. I think I was treated badly on my tan skin. I would give zero stars. read more

These guys saved me! My rear gears on my road bike literally "snapped off" yesterday, and I thought I had a major repair bill. They quickly assessed it and showed me how it was an attactment bushing, and not the actual gears. Best yet, they were able to fix it within 15 minutes and I was on my way :) I should also add, that I bought my Colnago here 3 years ago, and I've been getting my tuneups done at some chain store bike shops because they are closer to my house. My husband bought me a Cole Nagle bicycle here three years ago. He was not very happy with the level of service then. My bike was ruined in a car accident and we needed to get an updated quote for it to share with our homeowners insurance. My husband called and spoke to a sales person and let them know what he was looking for and he never got back to us. He called back a second time tried to reach the sales person again and still nothing. I guess they don't like our money. It's pretty sad because we were returning customer. Not the cheapest bike store, but hey, commercial rent Irvine can be expensive. I have purchased a few bikes here and the customer service has always been top notch. The owner Frank is very hands on and you can tell he knows alot about his business and gets his hands dirty as well. I took my daughter's Woom bike here to get "re-assembled" and it took them less than a day. Will be coming back to the shop for all of my biking needs. So it's been a couple years, couple tough years since my last review. To update, this place is my goto shop for everything in OC. First they carry the brands I specifically care about (Cannondale, Allied, Colnago, Felt) so that will influence a number of people of coming here or not. Couple reasons to come, besides Frank the owner who is great, the staff from Etienne and Kevin who are super knowledgeable, know all there is to know and will give you their straight up honest assessment of what you should buy for what you are looking for (even if it means buying something significantly cheaper than you are looking at) are fantastic. Need a fit? See Peter, he is an amazing person to go to for a fit and I can say from two previous did as good of a fit as any of my fitters when I was cat 1 / pro back in the day. He is a class act and will not look to make you buy any bullsh1t that you don't need compared to some others. TLDR: Store owner/manager refused a refund, hung up while I was still speaking asking for a receipt, the mechanic(s) are nicer but could not fix a problem after weeks, while another shop fixed it in one day. I cannot recommend interacting with this shop as a woman of color. My interactions with the store owner left me feeling disrespected. It's sad that in 2024, I still have other friends and bike shops empathizing and telling me I should have had a man accompany me to Irvine Bicycles due to these interactions. Every interaction with the owner has been negative, largely due to his obsession with money and lack of empathy for customers. I initially trusted this shop based on my bike fitter's recommendation of just one mechanic there, but after several failed attempts to fix my bike and an owner who refused a refund for a warranty-covered part, I'm left feeling discouraged. I even debated continuing cycling after they said my choices were to either replace every electronic part of my bike or buy a new bike. - The owner refused a refund and hung up on me when I asked for a detailed receipt. - I requested a list of what was attempted for a second opinion at another shop. After much reluctance and repetitive asking, the owner printed an unhelpful, vague list. I asked for more detail, especially with phrases that were heavily abbreviated and incredibly vague. What "plug in computer" really meant after I had to follow up with many questions was "run diagnostic tests for every component on Di2 which came back as nothing was wrong and reprogrammed all Di2 parts separately to factory reset". I ended up having to talk with a mechanic because the owner walked away and refused to elaborate and help. - The owner charged labor for every unsuccessful attempt at fixing my bike. For example, a 1-minute Di2 programming attempt cost $30, which didn't even solve the issue. For diagnosing a problem, I expect to pay for labor fairly but not at a rate of every single possibility that was tried. - The shop pushed expensive solutions, like buying a new bike or replacing all electrical components, without showing genuine concern for my problem. Both options would be hundreds or thousands. More than what I even bought my bike for. The owner was dismissive and only concerned about selling more. Parts are also overpriced compared to what you can get from other shops or online. - A mechanic asked the owner to let me test ride with new hardware that wasn't officially installed yet, and after a ton of hesitation, the owner agreed but made it abundantly and painfully clear I'd be charged if anything went wrong, emphasizing his lack of trust and focus on profit. One of the many times I had to go back, I brought in a third party to watch silently and observe the bike shop owner and the third party said, "Yeah, he doesn't give a f*** about your bike". - I faced multiple delays, broken promises, and poor communication. I was repeatedly told my bike would be ready, only to show up and find it wasn't. The owner promised to get another shop's opinion but never followed through. Whenever I was in the store, the owner was sitting on his phone, not doing much, either. For example, I was told I would get my bike back on Thursday, but they didn't let me know that it would be longer, so on Thursday I drove a total of two hours just for them to say they're not ready yet. I had to call every single day to check on progress until I could come on Saturday, and they wouldn't update me, so I had to call. When I called Saturday, which was much later than I had wanted anyway, they told me I would have to wait until the afternoon. I was promised that the fix they wanted to try would only take 15 minutes. So when I arrived in the afternoon and they said they still hadn't yet fixed it, I had to again, advocate for myself again and demand that I couldn't be kept waiting as they had promised it was done and already delayed my pickup (I also had a race coming up in 2 weeks and can't afford leaving my bike idle in the shop for any longer). They even told me they would get another bike shop to look at it or see if another mechanic could, but again, that never happened. Ultimately, I went to another shop, and they fixed the issue in one day, while Irvine Bicycles spent weeks troubleshooting unsuccessfully, and suggesting solutions that would cost me thousands. While the mechanics are nice and hardworking, the owner's attitude makes it impossible for me to recommend this shop. It's a shame the mechanics have this as a boss. Other reviews show I'm not alone in this experience. The owner's focus on money over customer care is a clear pattern. read more

Been here 2 times now for our sons bike. A kids bike. Both times my wife came to tell me of the rudeness she experienced when trying to get the bike serviced. I work in insurance sales and I understand customer service and I also understand pricing. There is a right way to do it and a WRONG way to do it. Unless I'm just dating myself, I recall a flat being able to be replaced with a patch kit or a new inner tube. Neither should cost $45. Never mind the price, the explanation and rudeness over the phone is uncalled for and this place needs a serious lesson in how to treat customers. My friend had some issues with her bike. They struggled for several weeks trying to solve the problem with nothing really resolved. Finally took it to a different shop and they solved the problem. This is a great locally owned bike shop. I got a Motiv electric bike here last weekend and I love it. The owner (Eric I think) is friendly, and he had one of his employees give me a demo behind the shopping center before I bought the bike. They were generous and attached a free cup holder on the handlebars and gave me some free chain lubricant. I can now ride with my sons and ride up the steep hill in my neighborhood (Baker Ranch) with ease and not get out of breath. The bike was well priced too - around $2K, when some electric bikes can cost upwards of $5K. They have tons of road bikes too, but those aren't my cup of tea. They don't sell kids' bikes, or at least they didn't have any when I was there, but for a good electric bike that doesn't break the bank, check out Irvine Bicycles. They give you a free tune-up a month or two after your purchase, so see you guys soon! read more

Second time visit, the first time I was greeted immediately, but this time, NO ONE acknowledged my presence, WOW! Now THAT'S lack of customer service for you. There were 5 ppl working in the store, with only 4 customers including me. BUT, I will say they know there info/stuff when it comes to bicycles and what you need to get started or to advance to more elite products. This store carries Cannondale, Felt, and a few others, but it looks like Cannondale is their main bicycle product. Pricing is comparable to other elite bike stores in LA/OC. Will I come back, most likely if I need accessories for my bikes. ..... at the most. I recommend YOU visiting this bicycle shop to see what type of experience you have. When I first moved to the area for my current work, I was in need of a bike shop. A place where I went to commiserate with other cycling junkies. The Shop is a social place and a place to dream. When I first dragged in my second bike, a slightly upgraded old Bianchi from probably the 90s, I was greeted from the friendly owner and the awesome team that has an incredible depth of knowledge about riding. All of my questions were answered, and I definitely tend to be a curious person, asking questions about the details. How does a derailleur work? How do I install pedals? I was riding on and off but had never seriously committed lifestyle wise. My first triathlon was coming up and I brought in my bike for a tune up. The experts at the store guided me through the purchase of my first Carbon Fiber road bike, a sleek, comfortable ride with a monochrome Cannondale logo on the side. Red bar tape and Profile Design Aero Bars. I felt like I had found a little slice of heaven. The process of buying the bike was awesome. Peter fitted me to the bike and made sure my motions were in alignment for proper riding technique. Making sure I could breath efficiently, use the right force when pedaling and hold your core when riding. Since the bike was an older model, it was on sale. It was a stretch from what I normally could justify as a purchase for myself but I wanted to commit to fitness and triathlons. About a year later, I couldn't be happier. I go back for tune ups and upgrade components like my tires and get pre race adjustments.
