Bring your male family member or expect to get scolded by both male and female owner for not knowing anything about the bike. They are not customer friendly, no reciprocal greetings to customers whatsoever, with 'how dare you' attitude. We went to expert for help for second hand bike I bought online, and had a very unpleasant experience. I will not recommend the place unless you know which part you need and know what exactly is wrong with your bike. read more

Today I came across this upselling! I had left my son's bike for a suspension upgrade. I was called in to say that the bike break pads were worn out to which my son suggested that he would fix it on its own. He did buy extra break pads when he checked out. That would be so simple. But No - When my wife and son went to pick up the bike the person in the shop were engaged in fear mongering. They forced my wife to sign a waiver form (really! A waiver form) without which they could not release the bike. The waver form noted - that the she is completely aware of the condition of the bike and declined the service. They could not test ride the bike because it's a safety concern etc. etc. Also she was told the best in class Magura breaks were illegal. Honestly says who? I am not sure if my wife and son came back after seeing a doctor, a law enforcement officer or a bike repair shop. read more

This is a great local bike store, with extremely knowledgeable ownership. Randy is an absolute legend and extremely reliable and honest. He's clearly focused on matching people with the best possible bike for them, at a customer's stated budget. No upselling or tricks. I also learned that they have an awesome rental program - with up-to-date rental bikes (unlike the totally busted Tarmacs I've rented at The Cyclist the past two years). And they have a policy at Trail's End where they'll credit your rental cost towards purchase of the rental bike - something I wish I had known back in 2021! First, I'd like to thank Randy and Mary. From the moment I stepped into the store, Mary made me feel exceptionally warm and friendly. As for Randy, his reasonable pricing and customer-first business approach are truly commendable. Even though my Super73 S-2 wasn't ultimately fixed, this is more an issue with Super73. Randy did his utmost trying to identify the problem and in the end, charged me a very reasonable fee. Because of this, I want to give them a five-star rating. Oh, and there's a cute black Labrador here. I regret not patting its head last time. In summary, this is a trustworthy bike shop, and if you have any bicycle-related concerns, I recommend you visit Trail's End Cycling Center. P.S. I don't recommend buying from Super73. They don't take responsibility for the bikes they sell. After spending $3000 on their bike, it breaks down just after a year's warranty, and then they'll tell you all the electronic components are ruined. I consider myself quite handy working on bikes but needed the experts for some help. I needed help removing my bottom bracket on my Super73 ZX. I talked to Randy and made an appointment to check the bike in, which was not a problem. I came back on my appointment date in the morning. Work was completed the same day. I received a detailed email of the work that was done as well as advice on what to do to avoid the issue I created. Cost of the repair ended up less then what he estimated. I've stopped by this store at least three times to purchase new inner-tubes, every time the owner has been extremely rude. I walk in the door, and the guy behind the counter makes eye contact with me, stares me down for several seconds after I greet him, and then goes back to work. I ask him a few questions about what tube size I need, since the dimensions don't exactly match my tire, and he was dismissive and ignored my questions. He sells me the tube, and turns around back to his laptop without even acknowledging I've asked him a question.It'd be one thing if this happened once, everyone has a bad day once in a while. But for these shop employees, every day seems to be a bad day. I try to buy local, to support our local small businesses, but I can safely say that I will be sending my patronage to online retailers. read more

I'm a first-time bike buyer, and Trail's End really took care of me. They listened to all my concerns and needs for my commute, and found a bike for me in my price range (400-600). They also installed a kickstand for me, and gave me a student discount! I would definitely recommend coming here rather than buying an Amazon bike or assembling your own if you're not experienced. Found this hidden gem by chance. I was needing my pedals removed and all other shops told me no or one week. Called on the way to Irvine from Long Beach and was told to come on in. Showed up 20 minutes later and was greeted with a smile and joyful staff. After short conversations I discovered this place actually supports veterans transitions back into civilian life by donating bikes for those without vehicles as well as suits for interviews. Amazing amazing service!! Top shelf the whole way!! I travel to OC quite often and most of the time I fly my bike vet with me. Well, not anymore. Not when I know I can get a high end ride from Trails End and looks but more importantly, rides like it's right out of the box! The guy takes such great care of his bikes I'm just completely blown away. You can really see the pride he has for his bikes/products and his service. He just gets it, period. So many bike stores are just blah blah blah (not sure how else to put it) but he's far from it. I'm still in complete disbelief at how clean and quiet my bike rode even after getting it pretty dirty from all the rain that y'all been gett'en. This is by far a true hidden gem of a bike store. When I returned the bike this evening, he was working with a nice family to get them all set with a few rides. What impressed me was his patience and attention to detail. I recently took my new rear wheel in to mount a Continental GP 5000TL tubeless tire on the rim. This tire is notoriously difficult to mount and I just couldn't do it on my own. I called in to check if I can bring it in with Randy. When I brought it in, I met Randy and he was very approachable and seemed to be very knowledgeable about his industry. I had no problem leaving my new carbon wheel with him. The very next day I was called that my wheel was ready as promised! Apparently it took a lot of hands, time and effort to get the tires on and I really appreciate that they were able to get it done. Needless to say, I probably won't be purchasing these tires again, but I will definitely be revisiting for tune ups and servicing for my road bike. Thank you Trails End. read more

I happened to be in the area with time to kill and currently in the market for a mountain bike. Up until visiting Trail's End I have only been in my local bike shops in Vegas. The immediate difference between this shop and the Vegas shops is size. While they may not have a large selection of bikes on the floor, I learned a lot from Dan and he gave me some great advice and options in my price range that I was not even considering before entering this store. And obviously he also had a catalog available which he also went over with me in discussing some of the Scott options that might be a good fit for me. Aside from bikes they also carry basic necessities, shoes, helmets, protective gear, nutrition, and they have a repair shop. As someone new to biking and looking to rent or buy I would definitely check this store out. Dan was considerate of my price range and shopping for a bike can be overwhelming, and I really appreciated the smaller, less intimidating feel of this store. I know most stores credit you rental fees but Trail's End credits you up to a week of your rental toward your new purchase. read more

I also go to UCI and I wanted a quicker way to get to and across campus. I brought in my wife's beach cruiser that had a flat tire on a Saturday. It wasn't until I got there I learned they are doing appointments during this time. They were very helpful though and squeezed me in and fixed the tire so I didn't have to make another trip. Excellent customer service! I am a cyclist who rides more than three times a week and if I have a problem, I want to get service within a week. Again, like Irvine's other bike shops, I have to wait at least 2-3 weeks due to COVID-19. I have been to this place since the first time it was created, and now I have introduced a lot to my Bike Group. I am a bit dissatisfied with applying the same rule to serious cyclists, but I think it will be really good for customer service for casual bikers. I pushed and made a mistake because I urgently asked for it, but in the end, Dan has completely fixed my bike, so I have a very fun and enjoyable group ride every day. So I'll trust him again and go to the Trails End again later if my bike has issue up again. I did test before I bought but after 6,7 rides, I heard weird and lousy noise in drivetrain area, I don't know how to fix it. I brought it here for tuneup my bike. Because I thought my bike is old and after tune up the weird and lousy noise will go away, but no. I brought it back again, and they spent their time troubleshooting my bike. They did some fixing. And now no more weird and lousy noise. I did have like 120 miles after the fixing. no more Weird and lousy noise. I really appreciate their work and their time. I bought a bike for my 21-year-old daughter, it was a beach cruiser, aluminum with seven speeds. I bought it online and was able to put it together to the best of my ability. Knowing I did not do the best job, I wanted to bring it into a bike shop, to tune it up and make sure everything I did was correct. Bike was complete, my wife brought it home. My daughter took it for a ride, the gear shifter on the handlebars was very difficult to turn, even for me as an adult male,quite strong, was difficult to turn. So we returned and paid for a thumb gear shifter. Which is so much better. I wish they mentioned that to us when the bike was there. Then my daughter started riding the bike and her foot kept on hitting the front wheel when she was turning and paddling, hmmm. So I'm staring at the bike from the side and wondering what is wrong. The fender was on backwards, The front forks we're also backwards as well as the handlebars. I'm somewhat handy with tools, not to mention I'm a plumbing contractor and own my own business with quite a few employees. So I was able to correct all the issues that I paid for. I must say, I will not ask for my money back and I will definitely not return to the bike shop. For reference, I'm a longtime mountain biker and can handle most repairs and tuning with the exception of wheel truing and bearing replacement. My two other go-to shops for maintenance/repairs have been OC Bike Garage and The Path. My experience at Trail's End was at least as good as those two shops, with extra credit for Randy's (technician) excellent communication skills and helpfulness, as well as the fact that they were able to get me in and out faster than expected. I found Daniel (owner) to also be a good communicator and very knowledgeable and helpful. Prices seem on par, maybe a little lower, than the other guys. Will repeat. read more

I have come to find that more times than not shops like this go out of their way to help the customer. It is certainly true of Trail's End Cycling Center. They are detail oriented as well as great on informing their customers of the work that needs to be done and has been done. I have taken two bicycles in for their tune-up and more was done than expected. The first time was so that I would be comfortable that I was passing a bicycle in good condition on to my oldest son. The second time was to ensure that my wife's bike was in good condition for her and our youngest son. Both times Trail's End went above and beyond the basics and made sure each bicycle was in the best condition possible. Especially with my wife's bike they not only did the work but with added pressure. I called and asked to have it ready for a holiday weekend so we can ride as a family. My pressure didn't didn't sour them or cause them to do lesser quality work. I was so impressed. Thanks to all the guys in the shop who have taken the time to ensure that more than half my household have safe, quality bicycles to ride. Super late review but I needed to get spokes replaced before the virus became serious. Service was fast and was done right as I returned from my trip back home. They also gave my bike a check as well and bled the brakes. Great service that doesn't belittle you like some other bike shops. I know my bikes but at other places the staff makes me feel as if I don't know anything but not here! They also gave me a discount for being a UCI student! Received great customer service and a speedy repair on two bikes that needed servicing--one for my son and one for my wife. My son's bike needed a new front derailleur because it got damaged in a fall. My wife's bike needed a repair on the wheel. It also hadn't been ridden in at least a few years so I had them do a tune up. The bike came out looking and working great. The repair was very honest. The shop charged me less than the quote because he ended up finding that he had a derailleur in stock which matched the one that needed repair. read more
