They posted a tantalizing menu on a Facebook event that had me looking for a way to sign up. Unfortunately there was no way to register for the class online through their website. Matter of fact, the website didn't provide any information about the class. I called the store phone number during business hours several times, but no one answered. Finally I left a Facebook message, and someone eventually replied and asked me to email to sign up. I would highly recommend the store find a way to streamline this process. There are so many online ticketing companies out there that will allow people to sign up and prepay for the event. A customer should never have to work so hard to register. My persistence was due to the tasty and possibly tricky-to-make menu items posted. There was the promise of vegetable samosas with a cucumber sauce and chicken tagine. Unfortunately we didn't get to make the samosas. They had already wrapped the cooked vegetables in phyllo dough and baked them. We got to make the cucumber sauce that topped the samosa and eat the savory creation, but I was disappointed that we didn't get a chance to make this staple appetizer. Our class of eight each had their own cooking station with a cutting board, knife, spatula, ramekins, pre-measured ingredients, cooktop, etc. Aprons were provided so that we would go home with food in our belly as opposed to on it. This was a hands on class where we were able to cut, chop, mix and stir. We were also offered a glass of merlot and a hot toddy to savor during the class. Sadly there was no tagine pot. This was another letdown. I had really hoped we would learn to cook with a tagine. They had one on display. Apparently the owner had ordered them, but they didn't arrive in time. Despite this, the final result was delicious. I devoured every last morsel of my chicken curry poured over rice with a side of wheat pita bread. Dessert was a light, healthy mix of orange slices and dates. The best parts of the class were: 1) Having our own work stations where we could get our hands dirty 2) Being able to drink wine during the evening 3) Asking questions of our chefs who gave us several tidbits we could use to entertain our friends and family later 4) Eating our masterpiece at the conclusion of the class without having to do the cleanup! Would I take another class here? Maybe, but unlikely. The price was steep ($69) per person. For people who already have a little bit of know-how in the kitchen, this class would have been a snoozer, but for those foraging into this area for the first time, the hand holding through the class is definitely a way to build ones cooking confidence.

He claimed he cut me a deal on another item, when in fact he also charged me a dollar more than the regular price. Very unprofessional and justified it by saying he has had hard times. No matter the size of your hands they will roll over your hand to the wrist. At 5$ a piece it's worth finding the colors you like. Such fun! I bought 6 of these roll-on bracelets. Worth every penny! They have an area dedicated to children only. That's awesome. This visit I only saw adults. This is one of the most unique stores in Historic McKinney. They carry handmade, Fair Trade items from over 40 countries around the world. Every Item in the store benefits artisans directly. I find this respectful and liberating! Fair Trade decreases individuals dependency on aid in a dignified and long-lasting way. Shops like this help end cycles of poverty not only for families, often entire communities. It gives developing regions a respectful alternative that often preserves cultural crafts and traditions. This type of shop is a win-win for all. They offer home decor, gifts, women's accessories, and kids items. There is no service! You get to peruse the shop on your own! Great idea! No salesperson trying to talk to you while you shop. Add in a small bookstore or bakery as well, and you're probably talking about 90% of a young girl's fantasy. Maybe it was just me... Yeah, what's not to like? Good coffee, a zillion plants, friendly employees, and a nice open seating area. Good place to meet up with a friend or have a solo study session like me. If this place was closer, I'd be here a lot more often. I ordered the cold brew with coconut cold foam (suggested by the barista) and it was good. So good, I ordered two of them and ended up standing in my car, vibrating all the way home.

We ordered two drinks and the cashier did not mention that there was a wait at all. Only after we paid, when we commented on how many cups were in the queue, did she mention the wait would probably be 20 minutes or so. The wait was FIFTY MINUTES! For two coffees! The girls were lovely and probably overwhelmed, so I understand it was stressful, but I have to wonder why they continued to accept drink orders knowing they were this backed up. It felt very irresponsible and disrespectful to everyone's time. I ordered the lucky charms latte, and it tasted exactly like lavender. I hate lavender in a drink and would never have ordered it if I had known. I actually ended up buying a new latte from Bresnan because it was so bad. Cute shop and again, they are very friendly, but the way this weekend was handed is completely unacceptable. Nothing was offered to all of us who had to wait almost an hour for our drinks, either. I will never be back!

Even on a Sunday before lunch, the place is extremely spacious, clean, well organized/stocked, and the staff are friendly but not pushy. There's a huge selection of trees, plants, shrubs, herbs, flowers and everything in between. I didn't realize that they offer fresh cut Christmas trees during the winter season. But I would definitely like to come back to see and smell them. They also sell fertilizer, sprinkler system spare parts, grills, and patio furniture and accessories. It's a haven for anyone working on their yard or outdoor space. There's even dog treats and toys, wind chimes, bird houses and feeders! As wonderful as this place is, you wouldn't expect such fair prices. But here they are, competitively reasonable. As an indoor plant person, I appreciate the various sizes of neem oil and fair pricing! Lastly, and most importantly, we weren't sure if we could bring our pup in but there were tons of large dogs on leash! So glad this place is so close to home! We'll be back soon.
