Nice casual place with a great value tasting! We loved the tasting names and menu descriptions, and it's always interesting hearing background on the pours. At one point, the owner was introducing and pouring a couple of the wines. I appreciate seeing an owner who loves what he does and engages with his customers. There were some kids who were playing a cork game and having a ball, very wholesome! Highly recommend! read more

Iron Oaks Winery - Wine Tasting Room Near Me - Paso Robles, California

This is a gem of a tasting room located in downtown Paso Robles! They serve beer, wine, and cider. But it doesn't stop there... their pizzas are to die for!! The menu changes based on the chefs desires but when we came in we had a Tri Tip sandwich that was melt in your mouth good. If you stop in, don't forget to purchase a bag of their homemade beef jerky! My husband and I ate it all within 2 days it was that good! read more

First and foremost, I am very stingy with my 5 stars.......so, let's go..... Iron Oaks Winery is a breath of fresh, country air. Do yourself a favor and stop in, you won't be sorry. You will feel at home and welcome, take a load off your feet and enjoy the fantastic wine....so NOT kidding. Now on to the good stuff. As soon as we walked in the door, we received a down-home welcome that was genuine and heartfelt. Our experience was fun and enjoyable and we'll be coming back year after year to stay in contact with our new friend, Doug, the vino cowboy. Doug, the owner, is young with a gregarious, larger than life personality equivalent to the taste and quality of his wine. Everything about this place is fresh and creative, not at all stuffy or uptight. Right off the bat, the wine is stunning and you wonder why it's not in every market...because the quality is there. This is a local, small business and by supporting them, everyone wins. You won't be sorry making this place a regular of yours, believe me. read more

Loved this place! It's a country themed tasting room with a very chill & laid-back feel. Coming here was a breath of fresh air after bouncing from tasting room to tasting room and getting the spiel from every sommelier of how their wine is the best - this owner is very friendly and keeps it real! The wine is not spectacular, but the vibe is! Would definitely stop by here again. read more

My husband stumbled upon Iron Oaks on our way to dinner and wow, what a fun find! It felt like hanging out with your best friends, Doug the owner was so friendly and kind to our group of tired, crazy kids, the other people in the bar also had a great laid back vibe and you could tell everyone was just enjoying hanging out. I didn't expect wine and beef jerky from the same place, but it works! If we were local I could see this being a go-to spot. read more

This was a nice little theme winery with from what I remember hearing the owner has a cattle ranch. The inside of the place was rustic with a number of places to sit inside and you could also sit outside on a large patio area. There were even two seats that were saddles and yes, I did sit in one having lived in Texas when I was young it just made sense. We watched Bonanza on a tv overlooking the bar as our pourer gave us great pours that were accompanied by a cheese pairing, the platter of cheese and two tastings for $15 was a bargain. I really enjoyed the Iron Oaks House which was a blend, the Poolside Drama which is a Grenache and Barbera blend and then the Hard Cider that came out nice and cold from the tap. A fun place and decent wine. read more

We visit Paso at least twice a year to go wine tasting and I must say I'm surprised it's taken us this long to come across Iron Oaks! It's conveniently located in downtown Paso so it's very easy to get to especially if you're having lunch there and/or visiting other tasting rooms. My SO and I stumbled upon it because the tasting room we intended on going to was closed. We didn't really have any expectations when we first walked in, but boy it was not what I was expecting for a tasting room. It was December when we visited and it was like a cow boy threw up Christmas all over. But in a incredibly homey, warm, and welcoming way. There were a few booths and stools by the bar, and the layout/decor made it feel more like a bar than a wine tasting room. We almost thought we were in the wrong place. It's dog friendly which is always a huge plus in my book! Doug, the owner and winemaker, is definitely one of a kind! He's hilarious and easily one of the most down to earth people you'll ever meet. We ended up doing a tasting and then opened up a bottle to enjoy there, cause we were having such a great time chatting with Doug. The wine was great too :) 10/10 would come again! It's one of the few tasting rooms that are open to 10pm on the weekend. read more

That place is awesome. The prices are reasonable, the music is great, the pizza in the back is satisfying. And the bartender is terrific

Holy moly! LOVE THIS PLACE!! My mom invited me to go with her to see a good friend Cody Allred and his wonderful partner Molly play here at this cute little place! Not going to lie, I was worried bc I am not a wine person, way more of a beer person, actually, that's the only thing I drink with alcohol LOL! So I was so PLEASANTLY surprised when I found out they had their own beer they make there, and it did not disappoint! Loved the beer! The ambience is pristine, it's adorable, and homey, country... absolutely adorable! The owner was behind the bar and he was absolutely lovely as well! Will DEFINITELY be back, coming from Arroyo Grande, definitely worth it! Thanks so m read more

By far this was my favorite stop. I came with some friends this passed week and this was my favorite stop. If you are looking for a place that has good wine, the best FUCKING cider and a great homey experience then look no further. Every person I interacted with entering had nothing but praised to say about the owner and establishment. I plan on coming back every time I visit and I've spoken nothing but praise and I have recommend this place to everyone. If you haven't stopped here yet please do it's my top stop ! read more

I normally don't write reviews but felt necessary because we had a great experience. We had a few groups of friends all meet up in Paso for the weekend. We stumbled upon this winery and they accepted us with open arms (even our dogs too and they aren't your typical ankle biters). We had the opportunity to meet Doug and enjoy some great wine and had some laughs as well. My family will definitely be going back next time we have the opportunity and we recommend stopping by if you are in the area....Just dont be soft! read more

What a great little place we came upon for St Patrick's Day. Jessica was the bartender and she shared so much local knowledge with us. The Chardonnay had been turned green for the special day. That made it fun. They had Lucky Charms in a big glass for nibbling and she brought out a green cheese and bread snack plate to let us sample. The inside of the place is really comfortable. They have a nice bar and seating inside and outside. A couple of saddle chairs at the bar which of course I had to sit in for a while. Jessica totally made the time we spent there very special. California Coast Beer Company is right outside so you can please the beer lovers too. read more

So happy to find a winery that was open post COVID! Celebrated our friends birthday and was happy we could bring our pup! Hard to go wrong with any of the wines and also check out the beef jerkey, you won't regret it! Ask about the cork in the boot game, $1 per shot and get a free bottle of wine if you make it in. Still not sure if my 50+ year old self is hip enough for the place, but the hubs and I gave it 'a go' anyway!! What a cool, rustic vibe this place has. It has a limited menu of wine, but all seem to be good choices. My rose' was crisp, light and refreshing. My husband's red blend was complex and delicious. This winery shares an extensive, multi floor outdoor area with a brewery (California Coast Beer company). The venue has two stages for live music, which occurs Friday to Sunday. We went on a Saturday, where they had one band coming in at 2:00 and a different one coming in at 6:00 p.m. There is a local restaurant (or food truck--not sure which) called Roots on Railroad) where you can order on-line and will deliver right to the site. The outdoor area is kid and dog friendly. We were on our way to eat somewhere else entirely when we came across this place. What a happy discovery though and we will definitely return (whether we're cool enough or not)! read more

This place was a great palate cleanser (pun intended) to close out our trip to Paso. If you're looking for a tasting room that's down to earth and doesn't take itself too seriously, this is the place for you (the wine descriptions made us laugh ). Loved the western decor and Doug, the owner, was very friendly and generous. They had some wines that you don't find at other places, which made for an even better tasting. They even sell their locally raised beef if you're looking for something great to cook or BBQ. Very glad we stopped in here! read more

Wine is delicious but the whole atmosphere is why it's 5 stars. My husband and I were driving through with our baby and decided to make a pit stop. It was a very slow week day so we were able to talk to the bartender/owner maybe? Anyhow, we were able to bring the baby inside while we hung out for a bit, ate some cheese and had a good wine tasting. Ended up coming home with a growler of Wine, yes a growler Also some fun stickers. Anytime we are driving through that area we definitely want to make a point to stop there again. Also, ask about the cowboy boot! read more
