STAY AWAY FROM IRON MIKE MOTORCYLE SHOP IN BACLIFF. TX. Here Why, Letter and calls to shop. I found your place from word of mouth and I came here the year before and your shop fix my bike. So, I return. The following is a sequence of events. I am not a Mechanic. Tuesday, Oct 31, 2023, I dropped off my Blue 2006 Big Dog Chopper K9 to Iron Mike shop. My pressure release switch was loose in the rear head. Mechanic looks at bike, and said he could fix it. I left the bike. (Thinking machanic will replace pressure release switch). Wednesday, Nov 1, received a call from Mike. This is what I was told. Mechanic could not tighten and it was loose and that the trends were striped. Head needed to be taken off and sent to machine shop to be repaired to fix the problem. (Again, Thinking mechanic will replace pressure release switch). Thursday, Nov 2, picked up bike paying 1277.00 dollars. Was told that a plug was put in and I should not have any more problems. Mechanic brought bike up front and running. I left. (I don't think my bike went to a another shop). Friday, Nov 3, I return with bike, explained that bike is hard to start. I have to hit the start switch from 5 to 25 times to start bike. Along with pushing and pulling the bike in gear to now break compression to get it started. This has happened over 15 times since Thursday. (Last 24 hours) MECHANIC NOW tells me that this was a quick fix to fix to get me back on the road. He also stated that NOW I have two choices. A. Take to shop back home and get a time cert and Helo coil to get it right. B. Replace the head. So, I asked why didn't someone call me to ask what to do. I expected my bike would be fix right from the beginning. Was told that I should be all right. Bike not running right, spent bike week driving my truck. Nov 9, 2023, I am back home in Virginia, I called and talk to the mechanic. I ask him what size hole was drill into my bike head. He said it was 16 x 1.50. I called the machine shop and they stated if that was the drill size, that would be too big to put a Helo Coil or sleeve to fix head. I called 4 other machine shops and they all said the same thing. They all asked why didn't the Texas machine shop just do the Helo Coil before drilling that bigger size. I said to all. I DON'T KNOW WHY. Now I have to buy two heads, they are not sold separate. S&S phone number is 608-627-1497 set of heads at 1825.95. So now, the only thing I can do is buy a set of heads. Along with gaskets, labor, shipping and everything else that is now needed to repair bike. So now, I will be spending 3000.00 to have bike fix correctly as I thought I was getting that service from Iron Mike shop. I know it may not have been motorcycle shop, but the machine shop should have known and asked how to proceed with the head. In which, I never got to add any input. So now I am back home and putting bike in shop. Shop here state that the plug ruined the head and now I have to purchase a new head. Machine shop here state that the Helo Coil should have been done the first time before making that hole bigger. This is now costing me $3500.00 to include another pressure release switch which cost 200.00. (I didn't get my old pressure switch from Iron Mike shop). A. I feel that Iron Mike should have called me for any decision on what to do. Plug in the head wasn't the fix, it's a bandage fix. B. Also, I had the battery looked at two different places, (Auto Zone and Advance). Both said out of 330 cranking amp, that my old battery was putting out 326 amps, which they said is more than enough to start up a bike. Iron Mike also stated that my battery was no good. I did bring that back home. I feel that I should have been compensated and I ask for all of my money I paid to Iron Mike in the amount of 1277.00. I am now paying to get bike fix the correct way. After quite a few phone calls to Iron Mike, this was his answer: Bring it back and he will fix it right. I was down for Galveston for Nov 2023 bike week. I live in Virginia. These guys are crooks they charged me 900 to fix the fuel pump problem on my v-storm 650 al they did was buy the 75$ pump motor off eBay and didn't even put the new wires on it the thing went down less than 30 days later I called they said bring it in I took the pump out myself to discover I wasn't given a. Ew pump assembly like they led me to believe the whole open unit was 315.00 when I called the mechanic literally said we're not in the business of putting on oem parts we're in the business of making motorcycles run ... half ass...!!! I will never do business with these jerks again I've had Uber drivers talk about them also one guy said he paid 150 for an oil change on his Harley said he marks the date on the filter every change and those clowns didn't even change the filter I heard the same sorta thing with another driver so if I were you I would keep it moving you likely to get screwed like I did literally charged me 835.00$ for the labor to replace a 75 dollar pump motor and forgot to mention bought my tank on fire and screwed up the paint pretty bad and wasn't even gonna say nothing till I brought it up if I could give Them 0 stars I totally would read more

I've had a lot of motorcycles in my life and I've had a LOT of service done to them over the years BUT... the service I got from Iron Mike's is the best bike service I've ever had. Ever. I picked up an 86 Heritage with only 14k miles but it's been sitting in a garage since the previous owner passed away in 2013. Needless to say it was going to need some TLC and I knew this bike would need something more than just the local HD dealer so I did a search... saw all the good reviews and knew that many positive reviews could not be a fluke and I now know why. First, let's start with the communication... I sent an email late on a Friday never expecting to hear anything until the following week but within 30 mins my phone rang and it was Iron Mike. Wow, that's pretty rare these days. We talked things over and made arrangements to drop it off for evaluation THE NEXT DAY. Again, pretty rare especially for a busy shop but I was grateful. Dropped the bike with the list of things I knew it needed and asked them to go over all the vitals. Monday Mike calls me with the analysis and a rough estimate of the costs. The price was fair and and I gave him the green light. A little over a week later the bike has new tires (the ones on it were from 2010) new drive belt, carb rebuild, brake repair, flushed the tanks, electrical inspection, and other minor fixes etc. They went over it with a fine toothed comb really and for a 35 year old bike its really solid. Clean but plenty of patina. Marco did the work and said "man, what a pleasure working on this bike... I've been doing this over 20 years and it's one of the finest unmolested old bikes I've ever worked on..." Made me feel good about the purchase and spending the extra to have it freshened up. Got it home yesterday and I just got back from a long day-ride and this thing runs GREAT! These old EVO Motors are just fantastic and after Marco got done with it it's like a dream. I have a few more bugs to work out and it needs to go back in but I sort of expected that given the age of the bike and the length of time it sat idle. Iron mikes prices are so heavy you can't carry them! You are profiled the minute you walk in! God forbid you pull up in a expensive truck or ride up on a custom chopper you can bet your bottom dollar YOU ARE PAYING FULL OR EVEN DOUBLE THE PRICE! I had one 300mm and one AV91 tire for swap out HAD MY OWN TIRES and he wanted 250.00 to change the 300mm and 150 to change out the AV91!!!! Super awesome shop and very friendly staff. Went for a tire replacement on the fly and it was done in under 30 mins, highly recommend them. While the bike was there they even readjusted my clutch lever due too a sticking issue for no charge, shows they really care about their customers! I've dealt with this shop twice having a tire removed and another put on, front and rear FLHR. First time I called and the guy said bring it in. I got there with the tire I'd bought elsewhere for a steal, and had the job done. Paid the employee. Got home, got the other tire, called back and the owner, Mike, answered. I told him what I needed and he gave me a price. I told him that was $20 cheaper than the employee had charged me. He laughed, along with me, and said to come on, he'd make it right with me and he did. He also said not to ever buy a tire anywhere else, especially for a Road King, that he'd beat any price. I said he'd never beat the price for which I got those tires. He gave me his price for the same tire and installed it would have been cheaper than what I paid for the ones I brought in to have mounted and balanced. Ah, well. I'll know better next time. These guys are quick, same day service on in stock tires, balance and mount is correct, I ride far and fast, the balance appears to be spot on so far. read more

This is a great place to take your bike for work. I called yesterday for new tires on my Triumph Thunderbird. Didn't have them in stock but Mike said he could have them today. Sure enough, just as he promised, he had them waiting for me when I got there today. He had me in and out in a very reasonable time and even completed a 5,000 mile service and oil change. I got there at 1:30 and was on the way home by 4:00. The place was very clean and well run. The prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend this shop. read more
