Perfect! My mother told me about the Iron Chef and mothers know best! Getting there was easy, it is literally one gas station away from the highway. Parking was a breeze as a huge parking lot is right outside the front door. The atmosphere is light, upbeat modern Asian. The staff is friendly and attentive without being bothersome. The restaurant itself is small to medium with a very healthy turnover. The luncheon specials are very affordably priced and come with a choice of soup and appetizer. I opted for the sweet and sour soup which was remarkably great. All the ingredients were fresh and the soup was perfectly balanced. There were a couple of extra ingredients in there or it was cooked just right - either way IC took an average dish an made it awesome. I opted for the chicken fingers and they were outstanding. No hint of fry oil or grease and I could taste the chicken. The cream de la cream was the eggplant. It was PERFECT in every way and there was plenty of it. Walk drive or drag your clamming boat- try it! read more

Iron Chef - Chinese Near Me - Danvers, Massachusetts

Well, I don't wanna' give them less than three stars, because the shumai were quite decent. That being said, the shrimp pad Thai was the worst I've eaten in my life. The noodles were very underwhelming, the flavor was mediocre at best, and the shrimp were the size of my thumbnail. There were peanuts and one tiny, very overcooked piece of green onion. Fortunately, the lime slice was juicy and not dried out like it is at some places. Other than that I ate about a third of it and threw the rest out. read more

Absolutely terrible!! Ordered fried shrimp ...got tempura shrimp The beef teriyaki was over cooked and burnt The chicken fingers were soggy .....and it all came cold. We had an issue the last time we ordered but tried it one more time .....never again Ever since they had tax issues the quality has beenvery poor. read more

Love the servers here. Friendly and attentive. Food (both sushi and Chinese) are good! Nothing fancy but fresh and well made. Fairly cozy, although there was some off machine noise we kept hearing. But truly nice people. Makes the meal worth while! read more

Truly the best sushi spot with the best staff. For years they have consistently provided excellent food and service, but last night they went above and beyond for my niece 12th birthday. They let us decorate our table area in decorations, offered complimentary side, made the dinner 10/10! The sushi boats are incredible and crunchy noodles are a must. Will always recommend and stop by for dinner whenever in town. Thank you! read more

Iron Chef - Sashimi boat and sushi rolls - Chinese Near Me - Danvers, Massachusetts

We just ordered takeout from Iron Chef, and could not be more impressed. Having eaten at most sushi restaurants in Boston and on the North Shore, I can confidently say this spot is a standout. We moved up to this area a few years ago and have been scouring the area for a go-to sushi spot. After ordering Iron Chef tonight, I think we've finally found it. Since it was our first time ordering, we didn't get crazy with our choices, especially because takeout sushi can be tricky to get right, but, everything blew us away--each roll was more delicious than the last, the presentation was so beautiful it felt like we were dining in. You could taste the freshness and quality in every bite. The ordering process was easy, the staff were friendly, and the food was ready right on time. Everything was packaged PERFECTLY, with care. I have never reviewed a restaurant before, but this experience was so good I felt like I had to say something. Iron Chef has earned a top spot on our list for both takeout and dine-in sushi. If you're a sushi lover looking for quality and hopefully consistency, do not hesitate to give this place a try--can't wait to try again! read more

Stopped in randomly on way up highway 1. Great food (we got house lo mein and Singapore noodles). Also got edamame. Portions were very generous (biggest order of edamame we've ever had). Staff very friendly. Prices very reasonable. read more

Really good food. Some prices seem high but the serving size is equally large. Only do take-out. Very convenient to the neighborhood.

Take out dinner last night was great! We ordered 6 items, & were very pleased with everything. Great flavor, nice portions, & our order was ready when we arrived. 1st time there since the Covid crisis: We found the food to be the same high quality as the many times we have dined in. read more

Disappointed in our meal tonight. The vegetable pad Thai had minimal vegetables and dry. The Peking Duck 1/2 portion was extremely small for the price. The Hot & Sour Soup, large size, was watery...tasted bland. Was it because we ordered at 8:30? I was so hoping this would be our go to place. I will not recommend. read more

Food is always good. (Well the crab Rangoon, sushi Beef & Broc/ shrimp yellow curry always is anyway) Service is crazy slow--before and after Covid hit. This place is ALWAYS very understaffed. Duck sauce and soy sauce--large sharing glass containers-not cleaned. They just wiped down bar area and let us sit right where people had just left using those same sauces. They also sat other couples only one bar stool away from us on each side. No Covid safety at all. No wall barriers etc. (We use to eat here at a lot before Covid but because service kept getting worse and we stopped. Above was first time back in over 2 years.) read more

-great service -great prices -great food We decided it was the best sweet potato roll we've ever had, and we've had a lot of sweet potato rolls! My only comment would be my dish didn't come with white rice, I ordered a large steamed mixed veggies for $11, I have not been to a Chinese spot where it doesn't come with a side of white rice with your entree. If you're in the area for a wedding it's a good spot to come to, options are limited in the area for late dining. read more

Very good food, quiet location We tried this place for the first time this week because it was recommended by a family member. The food was near excellent. The vegetables were very fresh. Chinese food is typically pretty salty but this was acceptable. I had the Spicy Szechuan Chicken. At first I though it was ho-hum but then the spices kicked in and I couldn't get enough - excellent. I'll have the leftovers tomorrow. The restaurant was quiet last night (Tuesday) with a couple tables occupied and folks at the bar. We did takeout so I cannot speak to the service for dining in. We will order from here again read more

I do not recommend it. Food is very greasy and staff attitude is bad. Any order over $60 comes with a free treat of choice. My order was over $60 but they didn't not offer the free treat. When I asked for it, they made me wait 15 minutes for someone to get it from the fridge. Iron chef is not what it aused to be, never again read more

Went in for sushi... Lasted 5 minutes and bounced. Guy at the register must have had a cold. Overheard him blowing his nose, a real long and productive one if you catch my drift. It was kind of a turn off, but people get colds, no biggie. He tossed his loaded up tissue, grabbed a half eaten plate of food that was on the counter next to me (I assumed was a fellow diners) and headed behind the bar. And, without washing his hands grabbed two fists full of raw fish from the sushi station and chowed down behind the bar. Remarkable. I thought I was on that hidden camera show where you're supposed to do the right thing and call the dude out and make sure the other patrons know what they're about to get into... I didn't. After I saw the bottle of Dayquil sitting on the bartop and watching him blow his nose a second time right in front of me, we took off. Hope the guy feels better. read more

I really can't say much about the food because all I had was steamed chicken & veggies, but they had brown rice!!! Thank God!! Finally, a Chinese place semi-near me with brown rice. They are friendly in there & the decor is nice. I got take-out. I really did love my chicken, veggies, & brown rice. I will definately be back. read more

This place is terrible. First time we ordered here was new years eve. It was an absolute shitshow. We ordered in advance and were given a timetable. Showed up on time and they never put our order in so no food. We opted to put the order in again, they told us an hour and a half. It's new years eve, and they are slammed, no biggie I get it. Showed up 2 hrs later to give then ample time. Still no order. And orders were just coming out from when I showed up the first time. I was pissed but again it's new years eve and every Chinese place is slammed so I get it. My wife convinced me to try it again today as we got a takeout menu in the mail and the saltiness from new years has worn off. This time they didnt give us one of our dinners. To top it off the food is blah at best. Lo mein is flavorless and the sushi doesn't taste super fresh. I will not ever be going back here.... read more

Food is always fresh and a 10 every time! Service was excellent. We rarely do Chinese but when we do, this is the place!

Great Chinese food! Everything was super great, and the service is awesome as well Definitely recommend!

My recommendation: Do take out, you won't be disappointed. read more

We moved to Topsfield from the Boston Seaport about 6 months ago. We're blown away. We order about once a week. With confidence - Iron Chef take-out & delivery is far and away better than any we had in Boston for the 10 years that we lived there. Including China town. Everything is just so fresh and cooked to perfection. You won't be disappointed. read more

I really like this place. I am , however , reviewing it for what it is, which is a REALLY good Chinese rest. that has sushi as an availiable app.. I actually prefer Sushi as an app, so , hey this works for me... In my estimation the North of Boston area really misses having a high caliber Chinese , since the Welus moved out of Salem a million years ago. Ive thougth this until I ate here a few times. The physical atmosphere isn't incredibly over the top, it's your standard fair Chinese, but thier food and thier service is 100 percent bang for your buck. They physical layout of the building hides the quality of the food. Im good with that. The wait staff is incredibly pleasant attentive and friendly, and knowlegable about the dishes. I love a waitress that can joke with you about your water consumption and go get you a whole pitcher so you don't have to wait. Not that we ever did. The Singapore noodles here are fantastic, the Thai soup was fantastic, and thier portions are huge , even by Chinese standards. The food isnt overly sweet or greasy as in almost any other local Chinese. Spicy tuna was good, made a great app. Just like I wanted. I tried these guys for takeout once, and ended up with a huge bag of food for 18 bucks or something crazy. I'd also comment that when you say "no MSG" they actually listen to you and follow your instructions, which beats heart palpitations, dry mouth and feeling gross. Which is my beef with many other Chinese places and why ive almost given up on Chinese altogether. Give this place a shot some night if your just out for the food and can handle really good food and service but dont need a Dragon fountain or a life size buddah next to you. It's worth it. I wish the owners or managers could be a little less ...unhappy looking, but im there to eat. read more

This place is fine when you are starving and in a pinch; however, the sushi is uninspired and overpriced. Both myself and my fiance were not impressed. He was especially not impressed with the salmon skin roll, which was a free treat from the chef. He would have rather saved room for something better. The miso soup is okay - but nothing truly memorable. Overall, the sushi is higher priced than average for the area. For great sushi nearby, head to Tokyo Restaurant in Peabody near Trader Joe's!! Love it!! For great sushi chef hospitality, head to Fortune Palace II in Essex. read more

five full stars for the amazing sushi! hand rolled, spicy, fresh and so delicious I crave them. The last star is the pace it took our sushi chef to prepare our food. at least 30 minutes. Now it was awesome...but there was only one other table waiting to be served. The awesomeness of the flavor and freshness are worth the trip, I just wonder when its full how long it will take. This place has really kicked it up! They re-fitted the dining room and added a nice bar. The food has always been good here, the sushi was back room, made by staff. The sushi now is amazing. I'm glad I happened upon Iron Chef! I moved to Beverly 2 years ago and, until today, my search for decent Chinese food on the North Shore had been unfruitful. I've eaten at about 5 local Chinese restaurants and none, imho, have been worth returning to. But...lo-and-behold! Tucked neatly into a little nondescript roadside plaza, I FINALLY had me some good Chinese food! Yay! Listen, I admit I'm no connoisseur, but I've been eating Chinese food on a regular basis my whole life...in the suburbs, in the boonies, in Chinatowns around the country...and I'm not referring to whether the food is "traditional" or "Americanized" or whatever...All I'm saying is that the food we got tonight was good quality and very tasty. Also, the dining room was clean and smelled very good. This place is *not* a dive. I'll definitely be going back for more moo shu soon. read more
