Lunchtime landed me at #JacksCornerTap Ribs, fries, collard greens and drinks…read more I ordered the ribs. The barbecue sauce on the ribs was very good, But if you removed the barbecue sauce from the ribs, they weren't very appetizing. The meat itself just didn't taste that good. They passed the pull a part test ---- fall off the bone test, just work on flavoring the meat. The french fries were hot and crispy. I love a crispy fry. I did not like the collard greens at all. They taste like they were cooked in a pot full of unsalted butter and that's it. I added vinegar to the dish and tried to perk them up and that made them worse. Now if you are looking for a good libation to wash down this food, the lemon drop martini hit the spot. I had two of them. Jack's Corner Tap has a lot more menu options and I am willing to give them another try. I just won't be ordering ribs or collard greens. On the plus side, this will be a dope spot to watch the #Panthers for the coming up season. #GratuityAdded #PubEats #LocalEats #Cornelius #NorthMeck MecklenburgEats #OfflineClt #Ribs #Collards #CLTSouthernEats #KeepPounding #Olympics2024 #ParisOlympics #charlottefood #cltfood #cltfoodie #charlottenc #charlottefoodie #clteats #charlotteeats #charlottesgotalot #exploreclt #cltfoodies #eatdrinkclt #eatdrinkcornelius #cltfoodbloggers #charlottefoodies #supportlocal

Walk in the front door and you're right in the bar with high tops and lots of screens. Or head to the back right and you're in the restaurant area with more screens. Either way drinks, burgers, and wings are waiting for you. Service was very attentive - the waitress stopped by quickly and was ready to take a drink or app order. Wings were a good size, meaty, and flavorful. The grilled cheese burger was a great meld of two comfort foods and the PB Chocolate Martini was flavorful. If you're looking for a good place to watch a game, eat some bar food, and watch a game with some friends this is a great place to do that.

Two of us asked if we could combine two sauces into one for all 12 wings, and one wanted to split his wings between two sauces, 6 and 6. "No problem" said the waitress. We waited and it was busy so the time was based on the situation (patrons shouldn't suffer though because you didn't staff your bar appropriately). The wings were delivered and they were crispy, amazingly cooked. We ordered the honey habanero and lemon pepper combo (again we asked if we could do this). There was zero spice so habanero needs to not be in that wing sauce name. Still though, that cook killed it-crispy. (Props-big time). So we get our bill and see we were charged a total of $6 extra dollars because we ordered different sauces. Huh? Do you charge to sauce the wings? If anything I should have been charged $1 for the extra lemon pepper seasoning you had to shake in there. But instead we were charged $2 per dozen for an extra $6 on the bill. Thats a jerk move. Legit, especially when things are getting tight out there, you have families there. Look you want to charge for extra sauce then whatever, but let people know. Have a big ole header that says "we have a weak honey habanero and any sauce you add will cost you a buck per sauce". This place clearly has a following and me not coming here again isn't going to do anything. I just want people to see this pricing insanity.

The place looks like a pub, inside and out, with a huge patio in the rear. All the workers we encountered were really polite and personable. It was very clean inside, even the bathrooms. We pretty much knew what we wanted but enjoyed looking at the menu anyway. Started off with a 20 oz Black & Tan and a 16 oz Harps. So good. My husband had the Fish and Chips. Perfect fry, thick and flaky fish, served with a side of malt vinegar and tartar sauce. The slaw was crisp and savory and the fries crisp. He loved every bite. I had the Bangers and Mash. The sausage was tender with a delicious onion gravy. Some veggies were included (green beans, cauliflower and carrot). The mash itself was creamy and chunky, just the way I love it. Complete comfort food. We ended the meal by splitting a dish of Sticky Toffee Pudding. It was sweet and savoury, with a hint of salt to balance, topped with vanilla ice cream and more toffee sauce. (I haven't had a Sticky Toffee Pudding since I was a child and this was such a delicious treat to share.) The whole experience was exceptional and we cannot wait to go back.

They, very kindly, offered to put us on the list while we were in-route! We arrived and were seated within minutes. Very cool of them to do that! Our waiter was very patient, friendly and explained the specials and menu items in detail. He made the dining a positive experience for sure! Potato bites were good. Whatever the shmear underneath was it could use some more of that! Bangers and mash were meh. Bland mash, overcooked bangers and not enough gravy. I was provided some extra gravy though. Fish and Chips were a big hit! Perfect cook and the batter was light, crisp and stuck to the fish well! Tartar was great. Slaw was on the boring side but unnecessary in the end. Everyone was friendly, a band was playing, the lights were dim, drinks were cold and the fish is good. If you live in the area I highly recommend checking it out!

DO NOT BOARD AT LUCKY DOG! The dogs are most definitely not lucky when they're here…read more Our two dogs have come home covered in pee multiple times. When we dug further into it we found out they were NOT caring for our dogs. They have only 2 handlers for upwards of 100 dogs. One of our dogs came home with a huge gash on his face and they didn't catch it, or report it to us. They come home anxious every boarding visit. When we dug further we found out that one of our dogs was so anxious she was chewing on a cot (she doesn't chew things at home, or any other boarding place we've ever used.) Instead of telling us, they just made a note in their system that she doesn't get a cot... We asked them to kennel together and so both of our dogs were sleeping on cold hard tile floor for their entire stays, sometimes as long as a week or two when we've taken longer trips. Instead of taking any responsibility for any of this they blamed our dogs. Their manager confirmed to me they don't require handlers have ANY certifications or qualifications. I asked for a GM or assistant GM to get in touch with me about whether they even do background checks and they are ignoring us. Lucky Dog used to be great when they were family owned. Roughly around 2022 they were bought out by a corporation called Village Pet and it's clear they are trying to suck as much profit out of the business while they can. They've raised their rates and cut down on the staff. In NC handlers can only have 10 dogs out per handler so your pets are NOT getting as much attention or outside time as they should be. This place is the worst. We have 4 friends that also used Lucky Dog and after hearing what was happening they're also finding another boarding place. We'll be telling anyone who will listen to ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BOARD YOUR DOGS HERE.

I entered on a Tuesday afternoon and it was relatively empty. Staff just looked at me like: "Who the hell is this guy?" I left. 3. Last night, which was a Wednesday. It was very odd because the light crowd made it feel like a VFW yet there was a bouncer at the door. Huh? Any place that has a bouncer is probably bad news if you just want to chill. I chose to roll with it anyway and when I asked the bartender if they had a drink menu, she placed a small sign in front of me with a QR Code for the menu. This shouldn't be a big deal but this is why I left. I don't go somewhere to have to use my phone. If I want a beer (or wine), I'm there to relax, not work. I was also in a dark corner of the bar, where it's like being trapped in a corner. Btw, there was a drunk guy singing in the bathroom. When at Kickback Jacks all the way in Mooresville, two people mentioned this place to me and how great it was. So, I think this is a "It's me, not you" situation. The place should make sense in theory--it should be enjoyable when you look at it. In reality, it's a no for me. I'll stick to my favorite haunts (and find a new place to add so I have 3.5). All that said, I still might pop in one more time during the day to confirm I don't like it. This review is subjective. Objectively, you might love it. For me, I have tried three times and have never felt an ounce of warmth from the atmosphere or anyone. You gotta feel good walking into a place. If you don't, then no matter how good it looks, it's not your place.
