A few women there seemed to thrive off of starting drama even with very few patrons there. We get it, it's a bar, it's a pool hall, it's a hole in the wall. There were a couple nice people there but the clientele were just not very representative of what the town of Kannapolis is thriving to be.

Towel City Tavern has two floors and is connected to the baseball stadium. Only the first floor was open during my visit. The Cabarrus Brewing Co. serving tanks are what you see as you enter. If you order a beer, it will be fresh as it comes directly from the tanks, as it is brewed on site. The restaurant's name pays homage to the city's textile roots and the towels made at the mills. The restaurant design also incorporated the town's history with Cannon Mills. The restaurant has an industrial feel with the open kitchen, high ceilings, concrete floors, exposed brickwork and steel structures. The tables were crafted from a 160-year-old tree that fell on the mill property. There were garage doors that likely opened during the games. They offer a $10 lunch special that includes a drink, side and entree. The $10 menu had a lot to select from: sandwiches, wraps, salads, wings, and a burger. I went with the All-American burger and fries. My burger was a good size, cooked to order and tasted great. The fries were really good, too. Service was great and attentive too. I was even offered a tea to go. My waiter got me in and out of the restaurant fast so I could get to the Music Hall of Fame on time. I did stop at the mural again on my way back to the car. Parking was free in the street spots and no time limits. Although I am not sure about the rules on game days/nights. With my favorite mural on the building, I have a feeling I will be back again to try more menu items and maybe see a ballgame too.

We arrived right at opening, 3pm so the place was empty. We were immediately greeted by Ashton and seated at the bar. Ashton was on point with every aspect of the visit. Drinks never went empty, check ins were perfectly frequent and efficient. We ordered the onion rings as a starter, they were big and coked perfectly. Next came the mushroom Swiss burger cooked medium rare. The burger was perfectly cooked and one of the best I've had (honestly). The cheese steak was delicious and was recommended by Ashton. We totally enjoyed the experience. Feedback for the owner would be... 1.add some seasoning to the fries and onion rings. 2. Drain some of the grease from the cheese steak.

At no point was I informed that there was a designated patio area available for smokers. Instead of politely explaining their policy, staff became increasingly rude and confrontational, stating that they were "tired" of me going in and out. When I calmly asked what the issue was, since I was simply complying with the no-smoking rule, the situation escalated unnecessarily. The most concerning part of this experience was when staff threatened to call the police and then falsely claimed that I had refused to pay my bill. This was completely untrue. My purse and drink were still at the bar with my friends, and the bill was ultimately paid by one of my friends. There was never any attempt to avoid payment. Customer service should involve communication, professionalism, and respect. Unfortunately, this experience reflected none of those qualities. I understand that bars have policies that must be followed, but there is a respectful way to communicate those policies to customers. The behavior displayed by this staff was unprofessional, hostile, and completely unnecessary. The staff in the picture attached needs retraining. Her attitude from the time of my arrival was very negative and appeared as if she did not want to be there and also claimed to be the owner. If she is this is unacceptable and horrible customer service.
