The whole experience was so good that now I'm just looking for any excuse to host an event so I can have them cater again. Highly recommend!

Some places serve food. Some places feel like home…read more That's exactly how I felt walking into Cuca's Restaurant. I stopped in for the machaca and immediately understood why this place has such a loyal following. The beef was flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and had that homemade quality that reminds you of breakfasts at your grandparents' house rather than something coming off an assembly line. What really stood out though was watching the sweet woman behind the counter cooking the food as orders came in. There was something comforting about it -- like being invited into someone's kitchen rather than eating at a restaurant. In a world full of trendy spots and over-the-top presentations, Cuca's keeps it simple: good food, good people, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay a little longer. Sometimes that's all you need

This is not the first time I've experienced this type of attitude from her. When I politely asked if my order was ready, she looked very bothered and stressed. I responded, "So, it's not ready?" and she simply repeated, in a very unpleasant tone, "I have not called you." I understand that working in customer service can be stressful, and everyone has difficult days. However, the way you communicate with customers makes a big difference. Her tone reminded me of Del Mercado, where people are practically yelling when selling things, lol. I hope she can work on her attitude and customer-service approach because customers should feel welcomed and respected when they come in.

We ordered chorizo and pastor tacos, as well as a chicken and birria quesadilla. The birria quesadia and chorizo tacos were so good! The cabeza was my favorite, but both tacos were filled with juicy, unctuous meat, with a generous selection of toppings and sides that you can put on yourself. They make HOMEMADE tortillas on the spot for you from a ball of dough they made the night before. The only downside is that the tacos tend to fall apart from the juice and sheer weight of the meat, so you may need to finish eating using the forks they provide. They operate in the parking lot of C Food & Liquor store, so you can grab a beer or whatever from there to supplement your meal. The tacos are a bargain for the amount of meat they pack in there.
