We ordered tacos and a side of slaw- they were served in a box and everything was so drenched that the tacos couldn't be picked up. Very soggy- acid forward, unbalanced and unpleasant to eat. A great somewhat hard to find treat in the Keys. We saw Ire Island Eats on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives and immediately added it to our list of places to try when we could. I found it delicious, the Mrs found it interesting.... We ordered the Bowl versions: Cilantro Noodles, one Irie style and one Caribbean style, one with Mojo Chicken and one Kalua Pork....AMAZING! Flavor explosions!! The Mrs is a little picky about vegies and beans...which was her "interesting" reaction...the parts she liked she really enjoyed. Me...I thought it was all spot on! No pictures are needed this is the best hidden gem in the keys if you are looking for non conventional dinining with over the top food choices. Two eggs over easy with ham is not what you will find here. Before you make the commitment to try it pull up the online menu with all the breakfast,lunch,and dinner choices. I checked out the breakfast menu first and realized it was exactly what I wanted. I went thenext day with my wife and had a super good breakfast that was better than we expected. I really really wanted to love this place but maybe we got the wrong dishes. We ordered the chicken quesadilla, the havana noodle bowl with Hawaiian beef, and the pork belly appetizer. Hubby and son said the quesadilla was good but nothing to rave about. The pork belly was hard and felt overcooked or a day old. The cilantro noodles were overly wet glass noodles. However, the flavor was really good. The combination with the Havana wasn't it. It was odd with the beans. Wish the plantains were a bit more cooked actually. Kind of too firm. I should have done rice. The Hawaiian beef was so flavorful, but heavy and again felt a day old or overcooked. We will be back but next time I will do a rice bowl or wrap with a side of tropical fruit or slaw. Nice portions. read more

AMAZING. Came for a late lunch on Friday and they weren't kidding when they said this place is hidden away. It's like finding hidden treasure!! It smelled SO GOOD walking up. We were really happy with the huge selection, and reasonable prices. My husband and I both ordered bowls. I couldn't believe how fresh everything tasted, and that was honestly some of the best smoked pork I've ever had. We loved the ambiance of this place. Great to eat outdoors surrounded by nature. My only suggestion would be to perhaps bring some disenfectant wipes with you. All the tables are surrounded banana palms and trees, so there may be some "nature " on your table. Has doors and it's attached to a farmers market with palm trees. After walking in you can see the food truck in the back and there will be lots of people so good luck with a table. We stood around till a table opened. They serve all the food in to go containers for those who can't get a table. The service is really non existent because it's a food truck and we brought our own water, but the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the tuna which was cooked to perfection and the sauce wasn't over powering. The coconut rice was probably the best rice I've ever eaten. I wound up eating my significant others rice while she wasn't looking. Due to the volume of people who know quality food you will have a wait if you decide to eat here. We waited nearly 30 minutes for our order. Food network has hosted their show at this food truck which put it on the map for a top spot in America for food trucks. If you have the time then it's worth the wait. My only comment to the staff is taking the trash out. Very limited trash cans and every one of them was overflowing onto the grass. Food was mediocre. My mom and dad got tacos and they said they were okay. I got the BBQ chicken bowl and it was incredibly soupy, to the point it was unappetizing. Wouldn't recommend. I chose the Mango Rib rice bowl and my son had the Kahlua Pork tacos with a side of coconut rice. Whatever you do don't skip the coconut rice. It goes well with anything or just by itself. Everything was delish! The ribs were fall off the bone good. My son enjoyed his tacos so much that he refused to share with me. I'm hoping we can come back before we head home so that I can try their Mahi Mahi tacos. They offer either take our or there's a cool outdoor area to sit and eat. The food was so delicious. My party got tacos and bowls and it was SO good. The bowls had so much food. The tacos were amazing. We had a shrimp taco and a beef taco. Beef was a 10/10. Probably my fave food while in the keys! Island style BBQ at its absolute best! It was sooo good I still dream about my meal and how I wish I didn't have to drive three hours for it! Came one afternoon and loved the jungle ambiance. Trees and chickens everywhere makes you feel like you are really living that island life. But where this place excels is their bowl combinations. We tried a BBQ rib bowl and a sweet and spicy tuna bowl and both were lifechangingly delicious. OMG! Probably one of the top 10 meals I've ever had in my life! Nothing fancy or extravagant about this place, kind of a garden/ jungle vibe but the flavors of the meal were incredible. Ugh it's one thing to be on island time, it's another to be rude and unhelpful. This place moves slow but even a simple question about the menu is met with a shrug. They are inflexible with any adaptations so if you are on a particular diet or avoiding inflammatory foods, don't bother. The tables and chairs aren't as clean as some of the pictures make it out to be. I am vegetarian and gluten-free but didn't return during my week in Marathon after the negative experience. read more

Our snorkel boat captain recommended this place to us. It is a hidden food truck amongst a jungle! Lots of different seating but not many cool spots on those hot days. We ordered the kids cheese quesadilla, the Hawaiian beef bowl, shrimp skewers, and the floriditos which was smoked pork, sweet plantains and cheese in a tortilla and fried. Everything was so fresh and amazing! The sauces really made the flavors come alive! The floriditos was something I'll dream about - I shared it with my husband and we were fighting over it! What an eclectic, fun place! All kinds of fun outdoor seating under palm trees and canopies. They sell fresh produce, baked goods, overnight oats and fun gifts. And then! There are two food trucks. The taco one was closed but we went the BBQ one and it was bananas! Incredible! We got pork belly, mango ribs, chicken, bean salad and rice. The coconut rice was gold! Great food. Fun island vibes. We liked this place so much that we came back another day for lunch. Food truck that is tucked away behind a fruit stand and restaurant so it's easy to miss from the main drag.
