I got my iPhone repaired here about 2 years ago. I recently referred a friend to their store and thought I should write a quick review of my experience, since it was amazing. My roof leaked overnight and of course, directly below the dripping ceiling was my iPhone. It wouldn't turn on :( I bought a cheapy phone from Factory Direct and used it for a few months until I was walking down College St. and noticed iRepair. I was excited, since I thought my iPhone was a gonner, but this offered hope. I brought it in and a few days later I had my phone back in perfect working condition. I think I paid $180 for the water damage cleaning and a new screen/glass installation. Well worth it since it would have been ~$800 to replace, and I was locked into paying for a data plan for another 2 years. Also, my landlord eventually paid for the repair cost. They diagnosed the issues and called me with a quote and to ask if I wanted to go ahead with the repairs. The price was exactly as they told me and the repair was super quick. The diagnosis took a day or two and I had it back the day after they gave me the qoute. I eventually got the iPhone 4 and handed my old 3G to my friend who is using it to this day. Highly recommend this place. They are up front, honest and they charge a reasonable fee for superior service that you really can't find anywhere. read more

So a few days ago the home button on my iphone craps out. I go to Bell, where I purchased it and where my contract will thankfully soon expire. They diagnose the problem, then shrug and tell me to take it to Apple. I go upstairs to the Apple store. No joy, they say - we don't fix the home button. You just have to buy another phone. Thankfully I used the old noodle for once and googled iphone repair in Toronto. Irepair was just around the corner from me and had excellent reviews. I went over there right away and the problem was quickly re-diagnosed and repaired in less than an hour, and with a six-month warranty to boot. Quick, efficient, reasonably priced service. I've been here several times, for 2 iPhone repairs and a laptop repair. I thought they were great until recently when I brought in my water damaged iPhone. They called me and said that it was irreparable, due to "logic board damage". I picked up the phone anyways and took it to my friend who's an electronics engineer, to see if he can salvage the remains. He noticed that the wire that connects the screen had been cut with scissors. Long story short, I think this place is super sketchy and purposefully damaged the phone further before returning it to me. read more

I dropped my iPad and the screen stopped working. After a full panic attack, this place was referred to me. I walked in and the guy at the counter was super friendly and helpful. He did an initial diagnosis of what could be broken and said the technicians would take a look and get back to me in a few hours. The 2 options for me were a small $60 LCD fix or a $175 LCD screen replacement. I was called back 4 hours later and told my LCD screen needed to be replaced, and asked if I wanted to go ahead. I said yes and that it would be ready that afternoon! An hour and a half later, I got a call that my iPad was ready to be picked up. AND upon further investigation, only the $60 LCD repair was necessary. I was so happy with the honesty and value of service, and my fixed iPad! I cannot recommend this place enough! read more

Do NOT go here. My 3 year old Macbook Pro died on me this Saturday. iRepair was the only repair place open on the weekend. When I told the iRepair guy 'my computer just died'... he asked me if it's a 3 year old 15" Macbook Pro before I even take it out. I was amazed. He then tells me the NVIDIA graphics cards fail on these all the time. This is true. But what he DIDN'T tell me is that NVIDIA admits fault and Apple replaces them for *FREE*... even if your warranty is up. Here is proof: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2377 The guy at iRepair told me the repair will cost $500+tax and said that he has done 'a ton of these'. Considering he knew what computer I had before I even took it out, and is so clearly well-versed with this particular Macbook Pro defect, there's *no way* he was unaware that it's a free fix at authorized Mac repair centres. FYI... iRepair is *not* an authorized Mac repair centre. I just spoke with someone from Apple who confirmed that the fix is free and I now have an apointment at the Eaton Centre Apple store today at 4pm. I will never go to iRepair again. I'm quite certain the guy at iRepair not only knew about the free-fix, but that he was going to get my computer fixed at no-charge and keep my $500. I've never had someone so blatantly try to rip me off! And from the sounds of it, he has done this to a whole bunch of other people. I'm almost tempted to call the police. read more

Just went to this place coz my phone screen cracked. Even though it was very busy the person at the counter kept her cool and was very professional. And they did a good job repairing the screen. It looks brand new. It only took a couple hours even though they were really busy. It was expensive though but the quality is worth it. I'd recommend it. read more

I was very impressed with the service I recently received for the repair of my IPhone 6. The staff took the time to explain what steps they would take to solve the screen freezing issue and the cost to repair. Once the repair was completed they explained what/why work was performed and the warranty on the repair. All completed within a few hours. read more

I strongly encourage you not to bring your phone here for repair. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever experienced. I dropped off a perfectly good iphone that had a small crack on it from over a month earlier. When I picked it up the new touch screen was not fully functional, so I dropped it back off to be repaired. The new screen worked for less than 12 hours and then completely died on me again. I asked for my old screen back assuming it would work again, but my phone was completely dead. At this point I had been in store 4 times and the owner was accusing me of dropping off a broken phone. It took me nearly a week to get a PARTIAL REFUND and they did nothing to replace my broken phone. This was an awful experience and after sharing it with friends and colleagues I have heard other similar stories with dealings with irepair. THINK TWICE! read more

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE I broke the screen on my 4th gen iPod Touch a few weeks after buying it. I took it in to iRepair -- told them I had just recently bought it -- and they told me that it would take only an hour to fix. I came back a couple of days later and they said that the glass that they had used to replace my broken screen was "defective" and that they would have to wait for a new piece of glass to try the repair again. Because of the Canada Post strike, the new piece of glass took about a week to arrive. Fine, not their fault. But when I went back to pick up my iPod the guy gave the same story... the new piece of glass was also "defective." What are the chances that two piece of glass -- both ones that they had used on my iPod were defective? It was clear that they were making other repairs but for some reason it was only my ipod that was getting the defective glass. I was skeptical and asked for my iPod back so I could get it fixed somewhere else. The guy suggested I take my iPod back to the Apple store and tell them it was defective. I took it back to the Apple store and APPLE GAVE ME A NEW IPOD FOR FREE AND SAID THEY SUSPECTED THE REPAIR SHOP HAD ACTUALLY BROKEN MY IPOD WHILE TRYING TO REPAIR IT. No doubt the repair shop knew Apple's policy but didn't tell me about it. I was REALLY unhappy with the service and didn't feel that they were being up front with me. I believe Apple that they broke my iPod when they first tried the repair and were trying to figure out how to fix it. Buyer beware!!! read more

I've been to this irepair many a time, always satisfied. However, I dropped off my Ipod Touch to repair a cracked screen 10 days ago, and have still not gotten it back. I was told upon dropping it off that it would take 2-3 days. I stopped by twice; 3 days after dropping it off, and 5 days after dropping it off. Both times they essentially promised it would be finished and ready on that day or the day after. This was obviously not the case. I'm at the point where I'd like to get it back even if the screen is broken. This has taken 3 times as long as they said. I'd prefer some honesty. Especially at the price this will come in at. They are super nice, but this is ridiculous. Don't undersell the time it would take so dramatically. read more

This place was really professional and gave me fantastic service. I shattered my iPhone 4 this morning, and broke not only the glass, but the LCD touch as well. The last time I broke my screen, the LCD still worked, so I was worried that this break had ruined the phone for good. The last place I went to seemed pretty sketchy, so I decided to give iRepair a try. I didn't bother making an appointment, as they take walk-ins. They were really friendly, and suggested I go to the Starbucks down the street while I waited. An hour later it was ready to be picked up, and was as good as new. I bought one of their cases, so hopefully I won't need to come back, but I highly recommend this repair shop. The repair cost $100, plus tax. Definitely worth it. read more

Rather happy with the service here: fast, friendly and careful with my iPhone 5S. Not sure how they handle so many walk-ins, but they delivered on-time and I was pleased with the overall experience. Moving forward, while knocking on wood, I will bring my repairs to this location, despite it being well out of the way - it's totally worth it for customer service alone. I had a related incident at the 2109 Yonge which I still haven't shaken off and plan to take action. I broke the glass, they fixed it quickly, but selfie-camera wasn't working, which they later fixed, but then battery was draining seriously fast, which they couldn't fix. I asked for my money back and the response was offensive. I then discovered the main camera was not working well, didn't want to go back, which prompted me to see Lindsay at College. In and out in one hour. I cracked the screen on my iPhone (absolutely demolished it) and was terrified of being without it for a long period of time since I'm a freelancer. They fixed it quickly and made sure it was working perfectly. The work comes with a six month warranty. Staff were wonderful. I'm sure I could have gotten this done somewhere else for less money ($125 for the screen on my iPhone 5) but I was happy with the work and the speed. AVOID. I got my iphone 4S screen fixed here a month ago. 7-10 days later, I started getting little lines on two different places so I went back. They claimed I dropped the phone, and that is why I am seeing the lines. I paid $30 to get it fixed. When I came to pick up my phone, there were blue spots all over the screen. They said they must've tightened the screen too hard and forgot to check it before they gave it to me. So they asked me to wait another 20 minutes, which turned into an hour. When I got my phone back, there were STILL blue spots on the screen - just in different places now. Given that i had waited almost 3 hours, they told me to bring the phone back later and they will fix it at no cost. Oh and my screen cracked again yesterday. I am definitely not going back there to get this one fixed. read more

Avoid this place AT ALL COSTS! I brought my iPad in for repairs after dropping it and shattering the screen. Simple procedure for $200 to replace it, and in three days and it should be done. First repair: Sporadic touch screen, will only work after locking and unlocking the device Second Repair: Touchscreen responsiveness was sporadic at best Third repair: Left side of screen stops working, then stops responding COMPLETELY Forth repair: Screen fixed. Yay. NO GPS. After 4 months of back and forth, I had to call THEM as they would NEVER give me an update without nye pestering them first. Finally, it was determined that the GPS was damaged and unfixable, a problem THEY caused, not me. I was like, fine, things happen. I depend on this device as my GPS, so what can we agree on to compensate for this lost functionality? Lindsay (fast talker OMG!) claims that she had to contact her superiors to find out what to do. That was 4 weeks ago, and I learned that SHE IS THE OWNER OF THE FRANCHISE. Now I have to escalate this. This device cost me over $700 and was purchased primarily as a multi-function GPS, now that functionality has been taken away, and LINDSAY has been avoiding me like the plague. STAY AWAY!! read more

CAUTION: Read the comments and recognize a common theme in all of the lower rates reviews - terrible, infuriating, completely unacceptable lack of communication. I was so distraught from the worst (and weirdest) customer service experience of my life, that I couldn't write this review for months. Short story: was told my device would be fixed in two days. Week later, several emails, calls, and voicemails went unanswered. Weeks passed. Finally got a response, explaining it would be fixed by the end of the day and they would absolutely email back that day. I said hey, thanks! And then never heard back. Cue more unanswered calls, emails, and voicemails. Also: their phone number didn't work so I called ANOTHER store to leave a message. Finally I went into the store, and asked for information. They said "oh tech is working on it in the back, almost done" (convenient!). I left, called manager to voice my concern about the lack of communication issue, and before I had a chance to say hey I think you guys need to work on your communication a bit, she proceeded to berate me on the phone, accuse me of lying about calling and emailing (uh I have phone records, email records, etc.) and said that she's never received a customer service complaint before. It was so extremely odd. THEN she said the reason my device hadn't been fixed was because they needed to order a part. I said "but before I handed it over they confirmed they had the part in the back?" Then I went on to say "if you'd just let me speak, I could confirm that I'm not mad about how long this is taking, I'm upset about the lack of communicatio---..." Instead of listening, she said that its my fault it's taking so long (????? Whatever.) because I never provided the password to her staff (????), and they couldn't test the device. My jaw dropped at this point. 1) let me reiterate, I wasn't complaining about length of time it was taking to fix my device, I was complaining about lack of communication. She would not let me speak, or explain what I was calling about. 2) I was asked to provide a password at the beginning and I asked if it was necessary for the service I was receiving, and the customer service guy advised that NO it was not. He said if anything else went wrong, where password would be required, he would call me to ask for it. "Thumbs up," I said. "Let's do that". Anyways, let's just say that this was actually the issue- why didn't your staff call me and ask for the password, at any time in the three weeks prior? Remember, this was supposed to take two days. And why, when I was in there not two hours prior, talking to the rep, did he not ask for the password at that point? Why did he say it was: "almost repaired" and come back in a few hours? Sounds logical right? Apparently not. She kept ignoring what I was saying entirely, and yelled on the phone some more about random things that made no sense. I was quite concerned. I gave my password to get off the phone with her, and she said it would be done ASAP. She would call back. She didn't. I think I got a call or an email a few days later saying it was done. In fact, the job was so poorly done that the screen popped off that day and it's now held together with scotch tape. Had the business been properly operated with a logical professional on the other end of the line, I might have considered asking them to take another look at it. I'd rather throw my device in the trash than bring it here and potentially have to go through this nonsense again. I feel terribly for the staff that have to work in this store (trulllly), and for anybody who has to potentially deal with this woman in the future. Good luck to you all. read more

Disappointed with the service I recieved. I was told that my logic board could be replaced, and that it would take one week. One month later and several calls to them - nothing. They are now sending back my iPod unfixed.I understand sometimes things don't work out, but I would have appreciated the company following up with me instead of my constantly calling them. They were also clearly agitated by my calls. I asked if she had any recommendations for me to try and fix it and she responded (quite rudely) "get a new one." This is actually for the Kennedy location which just opened. I was searching everywhere for a place that would not only fix my non-ipad tablet, but also not charge me through the roof for it. This place came through, and a week later I have a tablet with a working screen and touch capabilities again! Yay! My only complaint is that they are slow is sending online receipts, but that may be because this location isn't fully set up yet and confirmation comes from their head office. read more

Brought my old iPhone 5 in for a buyout, I was told I would get a quote by the next morning(friday). I followed up on Tuesday after not hearing from them, I was told I would receive a call back with in 40mins. No one called. I had to email them to get them to call me back, which took 2 days. Once they finally got back to me I was given an estimate and was told I'd receive an e-transfer the next morning. That was a week ago. I've touched base since, yet there phone line is just an answering machine. Still waiting to hear back... It hasn't been a good experience whatsoever. read more

They failed to repair my phone and kept my money. My experience with them started off merely being one of technical incompetence, then gradually became one of terrible customer service. They replaced a part that wasn't broken, then when I brought it back in they gave it back to me without doing anything more to it, and didn't bother to tell me that in fact they hadn't even done anything. Their service representatives, in the course of our various discussions, explained to me that they couldn't tell if it was working or not because the cables they use at the front desk are so often broken, and also that it wasn't really possible to fix my phone because fixing intermittent problems is difficult. I am paraphrasing, but that was the general idea. They promised to call me when it was ready - they didn't. When I called to complain, they told me a manager would call me within the hour - they didn't. And when that manager finally did call she spent most of that call talking herself, and interrupting whatever I tried to say. End result - no, we won't give your money back. They offered to refund me if I brought the phone back in so they could put my old part back into it. Frankly, at this point, I'd rather put my phone in a blender. This place is terribly managed. Their customer service is lousy. And as far as I can tell from the constantly broken cables and the failure to fix my phone, their technical quality is pretty poor as well. Don't go there. read more

Terrible!!!! Brought my working iPod touch in for a battery replacement and now it's broken!!! My iPod was working but I wanted the battery, which was about 60% to be 100%. It supposed to be ready the next day. So I dropped by and it was closed at least 15 minutes early. So I dropped by the next day, Saturday and they were closed again, despite their webpage saying that they're open on Saturday. When I finally made it to the open store on Monday they told me that they took it to their other store to have it check out more. I finally got it back on Tuesday. When I plugged it in to charge it, it wouldn't charge at all! Took it back the next day. I called and they told me that they had it "fixed". When I tried it out Friday night - it still wasn't working! I took it back again and they told me that they would replace with a new iPod, which they would get in a few day. I went in a week later, Monday, they told me that they would have one on Tuesday, today. I went in this afternoon and they told me that they would have one tomorrow. Got home and received a call from iRepair informing me that they were NOT going to replace the iPod because they now say that they think it was a preexisting condition. It was fully functional before entering the store weeks ago. I really really regret bringing my iPod to iRepair. Before it was working. Now it's totally useless! Fail!!!! read more

The service here is terrible. The lady at the counter speaks so quickly (intentionally) that you can't comprehend a word. She is also misleading and inconsistent in her explanation of the repair procedure / outcome. She also speaks over you and refuses to listen to your needs/questions. I would not recommend this place to anyone. This place also charges twice what other iphone/apple product repair shops charge - I paid $45 to have software unlock performed on my phone and found out after that I couldn't download any application (since the software they updated for it was well out of date) or update the phone via itunes. I also later learnt that they charged me double most places that perform the exact same service. . read more

Very nice! Got my old mac battery changed here. I could never call them because the phone was always in use! Very busy repair shop. Nice attendants. I paid $120 for my replacement battery. Didn't get a call back within 4 days so I biked over to ask about my computers status and the attendant called the Danforth location where my computer was to inquire. Got a call back the same day and my computer was at the College location the next day by lunchtime. Recommend! read more

Never going here again. Horrible customer service, numerous false promises. Went to fix my Macbook and it came out in even worse condition. I had a battery charging problem, when they first gave it back to me (3 weeks longer then they promised), the problem was completely unsolved.... It's like did they even try turning it on? The second time they gave it back to me, it didn't even have a battery in it!!! Maybe for phones these guys are better, but it seems like the lag time for communication to occur between the front desk and their tech guys has its problems. read more

I have never written a review before but my experience at iRepair on college street left me with no choice. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. I took my macbook in for repair along with the diagnosis I had received from the Apple store. I was given a preliminary quote and told I would be contacted within 5 business days with a final diagnosis. I was not. After following up myself, I was quoted $475 for a complete replacement of LCD screen. This was reasonable, although higher than the preliminary quote despite the diagnosis being the same. I was told I would be contacted after a week and a few days after the part arrived and the repair work was done. I was not. After following up again on my own, I was told that the repair would cost $50 more and given the very detailed explanation of "you have a bad inverter". I was thoroughly disappointed by their lack of communication, misdiagnosis and length of time they had had my device without completing the repair. I was then contacted via phone and notified that the second diagnosis was incorrect as well and that I would need the entire top half of my computer replaced along with work on the logic board. Due to the amount the I had been inconvenienced they were willing to offer all of this to me at the low cost of $700 (more than half the cost of a new macbook and double their original quote). Nothing about the experience that I was receiving was worth paying for, so I asked for my laptop back in the original form I had brought it in. When I received it back, the screen would not turn on at all which was not the case when I brought it in. I can only come to the conclusion that the device was further damaged during the stores "repair work". It only seems fitting to mention that I am writing this review from the same damaged macbook that I was able to replace at a friendly, family owned repair shop for $350 with 6 month warranty. Unfortunately I had to learn the hard way that there are lots of decent repair shops out there, iRepair on College is not one of them. read more
