Besides their great service their pricing is also outstanding. Saved a lot of money by using them over the years. The only time I went to someone else was during Covid when RHA was temporarily shut down. The other local and well-respected shop did not correctly locate a minute cooling leak, which was only resolved when RHA re-opened and I brought it in to them.

I've been to both chains and mom-and-pop shops in the area, and have often left feeling the job wasn't done well (which later bears out), takes too long, and/or I've been overcharged for the service. This is not the case at Red Hook Auto--Joe's fantastic at his job, honest, and incredibly efficient. He also gives great referrals (body shops and such) if needed. I'm very grateful we found Joe and I highly recommend!

My rear quarter panel was a bit dented and had popped loose from its clips, and I called Radd to ask if it was something they'd be able to fix. They weren't sure, so they invited me to come by so they could take a look. Later on in the day, an even more convenient option was suggested - to simply take a couple photos of the damage and email it over to them. Simple! They determined they'd be able to make the repair, by melting and reshaping some of the plastic while guiding everything back into place, and I was so delighted that I didn't even ask for an estimate. Honestly as far as I was concerned, I would be happy if it came in under $500. The total for this repair? A mere $150! Great price, really nice work, and 100% positive interactions with all the people I spoke with. Definitely a place that I'll trust my car with in the future.

I get a call in the morning after dropping off my car for the job and I was told that i asked for only the resonator delete??? I clearly stated multiple times that i wanted both done. When picking up the car I tried to explain that I was only calling because of the timeline they gave me and the owner shouted at me threatened to fight me in the office?! THEY WILL DO GREAT BY YOU…read more I come from a working class family and have driven lower end cars my whole driving life. I started taking my 2000 VW Passat wagon to them a few years ago. First for new tires, which Nick the owner showed me about 4 different "levels" of tires I could opt for. He called the lowest end ones "black circles with holes in 'em", but said he was more than happy to put those on if I'd like. He didn't try to upsell me anything. He showed me what the options were and gave me all the info he could to help me make my own informed decision. I chose the next level up of tires and they were very affordable to me, someone who makes very little money. i asked him if they did other work on cars and he said they did pretty much everything. Over the years I have taken this car in for various issues. Everything from replacing a section of the exhaust to mysterious check engine problems. Every single time, Nick was extraordinarily helpful and friendly. I'm also used to be being talked down to at garages, because I'm a slender young guy with music gear always in my car. No one there ever made me feel stupid or uncomfortable. They've all been straight up and just helpful. Nick and his people understand that working with a customer in need to help them find the most affordable option that will get them the strongest results is much more valuable than trying to make the quickest, biggest buck. Nick actually wants to help people.

It is a special kind of arrogance to treat customers like garbage when you're the one running the business. If you enjoy being treated with total disrespect by an owner who clearly hates his own job, this is the place for you.
