Chill spot! Good level of nice but not snooty. Lots of vegetarian options which I really appreciate, and the drinks were super yummy!

Great ramen and beautiful restaurant! When you first walk in, you don't see the seating area, but when you're guided back, it's so spacious. There are many tables and also shared tables if you have small parties and are open to it (they double check if you're okay with that!) We got the karaage and each a bowl of ramen. The karaage pieces were huge and I enjoyed them, definitely filling. I got the yuzu ramen with their spicy ball on the side, which was a great decision. The spiciness really brought out the yuzu flavor in my opinion and was so unique.

Service and Staff: - We waited about 10 minutes and were asked if we wanted an individual table or if we were okay with a community table (we went with the community table) - Our server was nice - we were put off a bit though from a random staff member that came over and started very loudly telling us it would be $4 if we wanted to add more spice to our ramen. This communication was loud, repetitive, and unnecessary - Scan the QR code at your table to view the menu. A server will then come and take your order Food and Drinks: - Sake: flavorful and smooth - Dragon Tantan: the sesame broth was flavorful and this bowl definitely came with a kick of spice from the Szechuan flavors - Spicy Miso: another spicy ramen dish punched with flavor - Yuzu Shoyu: fun mix of flavors between the shoyu and the citrusy yuzu. Not your typical ramen flavors Miscellaneous: - Good for groups up to about 6 people - Bathroom is located in the back of the restaurant - Fairly loud given the amount of tables in the restaurant

Beautiful restaurant - you walk through the paper wall to get to the dining area, and it feels nice and private back there. I was really impressed with the overall design. I got the miso ramen. It was really good, but not on the same level as some of the other top ramen spots in SF. Prices are reasonable, and the service was great. Overall a solid ramen option!

I quite enjoyed the ramen. Got the modern tonkatsu, which i liked, and my husband got the shoyu (he thought was decent, not amazing); tried three buns cause it was happy hour; i liked the pork the best, and my husband liked the chicken the most. We both agreed the shrimp one was subpar. I liked the vibes too. My complaints: to add an egg, it was $4... I didnt realize it was the price of like two at any other restaurants until I saw the bill cause the waiter just asked if I wanted one (i thought it would be max $3 and even that is really pushing it). That was my fault for not double checking though. The service was really slow for a ramen joint. Employees were friendly but service was pretty underwhelming

We thought it was a pretty good ramen joint. We definitely liked the restaurant aesthetic and the service was great. The ramen itself was tasty. We got the classic and also the spicy. Both were good and we liked the noodle texture. Definitely had that shin sen gumi hakata ramen noodle feel. The broth was good too. We got one of each of the appetizer buns but thought they were just ok and we could have passed on those.

Ippudo was kind enough to accomodate our group of 6 before closing time. They said we wouldn't be able to order appetizers which was okay because we were only interested in getting their ramen anyway. Their ramen was perfect for a cold night out in SF. If we weren't so rushed (which was obviously our fault), we could've enjoyed the restaurant a little better. It was definitely an elevated vibe from your typical ramen restaurant. Can't wait to come back again and try other things on their menu.

Absolutely fantastic his is exactly what I want in a great ramen and funny enough the recommendation came from chatgpt. I got the spicy ramen which was a flavor bomb of spicy and savory. I loved the open prep area, and the service here is amazing. They are not messing around. Ramen is what they do. Don't let the check in area fool you. This place is big, and the eating area is amazing.

On a cold day, I was really craving ramen and found Ippudo just a short walk from our hotel--perfect timing. I ordered the classic ramen along with karaage and takoyaki, and everything was absolutely delicious. The ramen was rich and comforting, and the sides were just as satisfying. The space was spacious and comfortable, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy the meal. We really enjoyed our experience and would definitely come back.

First time coming to Ippudo close to home. I've only had it in New York. It doesn't disappoint. Always good cocktails and ramen. Ramen hits the spot on a cold and rainy day in the city. Came here with family on a Sunday afternoon during happy hour. We shared a bottle of yuzu sake. I had a delicious Japanese gin cocktail. My family shared the cucumbers and bao bun trio as appetizers. I had a basic shiromaru ramen but it was delicious. The broth is so flavorful. Will be back.

Compared to the one in New York which I went 10 years ago, I felt the Classic Modern with extra slices of char-siu, egg and seaweed hence the name being called the Modern Treasure was nothing special. Overall, the soup broth was a bit too salty for my taste and felt this location was resting on the laurels of the Ippudo New York name. Ramen Nagi Palo Alto is a clear cut above Ippudo San Francisco in my opinion.Service was quick and efficient and since I was dining solo was seated at a communal table.

Came here on a cold night with colleagues after an event. I liked Ippudo in NYC and figured this would hit the spot. The place opens up much bigger than what you see when you first walk in. Between the first glass doors is a small sign-in/waiting area. Afterwards, you walk through some cloth barriers and it opens up like magic for a giant space. Pretty cool. The food was just solid. I fully admit I'm a thick noodle person, so these thin Hakata Ramen noodles aren't usually my favorite. That being said, the broth usually sells it for me. It was just hitting okay. We also ordered the karrage chicken, which came out a little dark...borderline burnt. Staff were solid and attentive enough.

Stopped in this place on a busy Saturday and we were glad to see that they were turning tables fairly quickly and were able to get us in quick. I was very impressed with how accommodating they were with kids. The first place I've ever been to that gave us all the kid plateware/silverware. It made it very easy. Unfortunately i felt like the ramen wasn't my favorite in the bay. The classic tonkotsu was just alright, but the spicy Karuku was better. Pro tip though: order extra noodles. It is totally worth the $3 and can feed nearly another person. We also did enjoy the bun sampler! Food came out quick and they had good seating for groups also. A fun date night spot but wished the ramen was a little better.

We were a large group of 15, including several kids, and we completely understand that the restaurant is small and accommodating a group our size can be challenging. We waited in line for almost an hour with around 6 children. During the wait, a staff member named Sue came outside, asked how many people were in our group, and handed us menus. Since it was our first visit, we were naturally asking questions and trying to understand the menu. Unfortunately, throughout the interaction, her body language and expressions felt impatient and unwelcoming. There was visible frustration and eye-rolling, which made us feel uncomfortable rather than welcomed. Even after we were seated, the experience continued to feel tense. One of the toddlers in our group started crying briefly -- something fairly common with young children -- and we were told to "keep it low out of respect." While we absolutely respect other diners, the way it was communicated felt lacking in empathy, especially on a busy Mother's Day with families dining out. A small gesture of kindness or understanding could have gone a long way. Instead, my friend felt compelled to take the child outside, which was disappointing. Additionally, after being seated, we had to remind the staff multiple times to come take our orders. What makes this especially unfortunate is that the ramen itself was truly delicious and lived up to the hype. The food was excellent, which is why this experience was so disappointing overall. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because customer service and hospitality matter just as much as the food experience. Unfortunately, this was not the ideal way to end our Mother's Day celebration.

The cucumbers were super fresh and crunchy, and the miso flavor wasn't overpowering. The hand roll was delicious too -- honestly, if we had a bigger appetite, we probably would've ordered a few more. For mains, we ordered the two most popular dishes: the tsukemen and the mazesoba. The tsukemen noodles were thick and tasty, and the broth was rich and flavorful, but I definitely found myself wishing there were more toppings or flavors to switch things up with each bite. After about halfway through the bowl, it started to feel repetitive just dipping the same noodles into the same savory broth over and over. My friend felt similarly about the mazesoba. It was flavorful at first, but once everything was mixed together, it became a bit heavy toward the end. That said, if you've never tried either dish before, I'd still recommend checking this place out! The restaurant was clean, the service was friendly, and I liked that you could join the waitlist ahead of time. Just be prepared -- parking in the area can be tough. You can sit outside too as lots of tables right on the street but it was way too cold for me. Service was quick and I ordered a Yuzu Zen (vegan) ramen. I wanted to try something different than their signature ramen. This ramen was cooked in the traditional Japanese Buddhist temple way, which was a bonus for me. I am a practicing Buddhist and have meditated at various different temple organizations and I enjoy temple cooking as its usually lighter but still very soul nourishing. The broth is lighter and its a vegan dashi broth and comes with zest of yuzu (its like a Japanese lemon), bamboo shoots, crispy kale and sweet fried tofu. I enjoyed this bowl of noodles with soup and the broth was hot, so it warmed me up. I was not really a fan of the inari (sweet fried tofu) as it was just too sweet for me. Service was a little slow towards the end as I was itching to pay and go for an evening stroll, but otherwise, a good experience. I'd come back again when nearby.
