But after I missed an alleged call from this company, Fix It Chix says that it discarded my machine. I have to wonder if there really was a call to me, why further steps to reach me were not taken, and whether my salvageable parts like hard drive, memory, and screen were not sold instead or perhaps the entire PC. I wish that I had been warned before going to Fix It Chix.

A virus that effected the same laptop. All three times my laptop was fixed within a day or two of dropping it off. Each repair was in the $100 range, and each issue was explained to me in not-so-techy talk that I could understand. They were professional and I like that they are a small local business. The location is conveniently located on Columbia Ave outside the city but not to far from the suburbs. Only issue I've ever had was sometimes they are a bit hard to reach, otherwise top notch service!

He gave me a full refund on the service and double checked the CD drive, which began working again after an update was installed. The owner did everything he could to make good on the problems they caused. Wish I had worked with him from the beginning! ********* They came recommended, but I had a terrible experience. I had to call daily for updates, they did not provide an estimate before the work was done as promised, they erased all my software and now my CD drive does not work. Their response to the problems was apathetic. I did not feel as thought they cared at all about the disservice they did.

On Tuesday, 1/17/17, after running a number of diagnostics on my wife's MacBook, I concluded that…read morethe hard drive was shot. It wasn't the end of the world since we're meticulous about backing up our data. Nonetheless, I needed to have the hard drive replaced. I was going to take it to the Apple Store, but the reviews I read about their charges encouraged me to find another option. Unfortunately, in the Lancaster, PA area there aren't a whole lot of options for Mac computer repairs. Then, I remembered that one of my sons took his iMac to have a hard drive replaced at Pham Computers and was entirely satisfied. So, I contacted them and they said yes they would replace the hard drive in my MacBook even though they're primarily a PC shop. So, I stopped by on Wednesday to drop of the laptop and spoke to Zach who was very helpful. Much to my pleasant surprise, I was contacted later that day and they told me that the drive was replaced and as (gratis) bonus they would image the data on my old hard drive and copy it to the new drive potentially saving me some time in doing a TimeMachine restore. I received a call the following day to say they were successful in saving all of my data and that the computer was ready for pick up -- WOW, A 24 HR. TURNAROUND!! My wife went there to pay later that day and was astonished at how inexpensive the repair was. I was too. What a great tip to take it there. Thanks Pham Computers!
