The workers were all fine, I mean they did their jobs but not much customer service. It's whatever. However it seems they've started using AI for most of their exams and it was such a terrible experience. There was a tech to do some of the blow air into eye and other photo type things. But they didn't seem that knowledgable but just going through the motions. And everytime a photo is taken the system would be like "uploading virtually". Then when it came to the example where you look at letters it was a system that's like is "1 better or is 2 better or are they about the same" and it would glitch a couple times I would say 2 and it wouldn't hear or it was freeze and the tech has to restart. IT WAS AWFUL. And the system said okay we'll check your glasses now. And I was like oh wait like my current glasses or? and the system didn't understand and the tech didn't answer me so I'm like what the heck am I doing here. Then at the end a doctor logs on virtually but it took literally 20 mins of waiting I almost just got up and left. It was ridiculous and all they ask was do you have questions and looked at my photos and was like yup all looks normal bye. I never want to experience this again. Going to a new place next time.

He used old lenses that he pulled from a case to check vision, but had new equipment to check for eye pressure too - the best of both worlds. More than anything else, he was friendly and genuinely concerned about my vision and me as a patient and I was saddened when he retired. The past several years I've opted for the corporate giants for exams, but this year I decided to look for a real private practice and found one right down the street! I'm adding all of this because I was so surprised by how much Dr Tyler reminded me of that optometrist! Dr. Tyler did a great job with his exam and he spent a chunk of time with me. His effort to answer questions and explain what he found in the exam was way over and above what I've gotten used to the past years - like I said: Superb!! I'd recommend him to anyone that wants a better and more thorough experience, who appreciates quality care, and who enjoys a great "bedside" (chair-side) manner!

Sure there's a more technical name for it, but I won't bore you with the details. So, R.F.E. means they have to contour map the surface of my eyes every few years and I have to see a doctor who looks at the picture and makes thoughtful noises. At one point they told me that it could be degenerative and I might have to have a corneal transplant. The corneas would come from either a pig or a dead person, both sounded AWESOME. So imagine my disappointment when they told me a few years ago that my eyes had stabilized. My hope of being featured on some sort of horror movie where I see dead people or start squealing like a pig were dashed (yes I know those stories have been done). Truth be told, I was leaning towards the pig eyes. I imagined how having an inhuman glare might work to my advantage! Anyways, I get to keep my messed up corneas and this place has been keeping me in glasses and seeing pretty well. This year they put me in some medical contacts that corrected my vision to almost 20/20. For me, this is like walking around seeing the world in HD after watching it on an old 1970s console TV like the one your Grandparents had. It's great! The staff and Doctors have been great to work with. Even though they use a bunch of fancy words, they are willing to dumb things down so this dim wit can understand! Quite nice of them! I opted for the Edina Pearle Vision store and could not have been more pleased. First optometrist said insurance should cover both reading and distance. Pearle said no, then my insurance said both should be covered. I did not want to be that needy customer. But I had to jump though hoops for insurance. I forgot to ask for pricing about "anti-reflective" coating, & later had to change that. Insurance ultimately denied my request for reading glasses. Nicole, the manager at Pearle, & the staff helped me so much, they absolutely cushioned that disappointment with her diligent effort & was always patient with me. Through the issues of insurance, Nicole's communication was kind, clear & concise. She followed up on every call promised. Nicole & staff never made me feel rushed. No one ever talked down at me.
