Went to this location last spring for a routine eye appointment. Upon checking in the employee with an attitude who didn't care as she took the vision tests and proceeds to say" ya well you're done". I got up from the Roller chair and flipped forward as the seat was loose. They didn't check if anything was wrong. After seeing the eye doctor as that was not a problem . And then upon checking out I mentioned to both employees ( girls) that they did a bad job on their part of not taking care of there clientele. They just shrug there shoulders and didn't care. I typically don't give one star review, but after I read through the past reviews, I felt I had to, so others can be made aware. I was told my order would be ready in 2 weeks, but no text, no call, except one weird email telling me that my order was late. After almost a month, I called and was told my order was there two weeks ago. What really upset me was the guy who answered phone and received me in the store, showed no apology or sympathy, but told me that their system would notify customers, he had nothing to do with it. He also told me that invoice cannot be emailed but printed due to liability issue, but he is not allowed to explain why. Nothing is really a deal breaker but if there is better service elsewhere, I won't bother to come back. I also believe that's just one person who is unfortunately completely missing the meaning of customer services, and misrepresented Visionworks. read more

I tried to give this place a chance but it just went from bad to worse. I was there for a routine eye exam - I need new contacts and can't get them without an update on my prescription. Every eye appointment I've ever been to has been simple - check in, do a couple tests, meet with the doc, pay and leave. I checked in and then was never talked to again. I waited over an HOUR without a single update on where they were at in the schedule. And telehealth? For an EYE APPOINTMENT? Nope. Just bad. I will not be back. I was told this was my new insurance's "preferred" provider; I'll pay out of pocket if need be to avoid coming back here again. read more

Horrible service. Roads were bad , called ahead to tell them I would be late and was told there was a 10 minute grace period. I get there before the 10 minutes but am told that I have to reschedule because the doctor needed to go somewhere after work. read more

These people are so racist.The first time we went and scheduled an appointment and they said our insurance wasn't working and lied because we called the insurance company and it was working.Now the second time we came, they said they made a mistake event hough we called and confirmed in the morning and when we went they said that. Now the third time we came for our confirmed scheduled appointment , they said it wasn't confirmed for some reason even though though we SAW it confirmed. I've been trying to place an order for contacts. I have a perscription and a recent exam date. I ordered off the website after having to re submit the form because it wouldnt work for an hour, and then I tried to call and its a robot not an actual person I could speak to about my order. After I finally placed it I got an email from a random address saying that my order had been cancelled. I'm trying to re submit it now and It's saying my card is expired when it expires in 2027. My family did not have a good experience in this store. We were not greeted upon entering, and the only words spoken to us were 'what kind of insurance do you have'? there were 2 people there just sitting around. Never asked if we needed help with anything, what we were looking for, nothing. We wandered the store for about 45 minutes looking at kids frames until deciding on 2. We sat down went through the whole process and was about to leave. I asked for a device that helps the kids glasses stay on. Immediately told, 'we don't have those'. I said is there anything else? She said no but that she'd double check. Sure enough, she found them. and on top of that, I discovered a whole drawer of flexible kids frames, which would be best suited for my 4 year old. I asked how come these weren't presented and how would anyone know about these (as they're hiding in a drawer), and she looked like a deer in headlights, shrugged her shoulders and said "I don't know". The lack of acknowedgement and no inclination to make the interaction better, I was thoroughly disappointed and asked for a refund. She was not happy but neither was I. Meanwhile, the assistant manager is still sitting in her chair not paying any attention. WORST. SERVICE . EVER!!!! I was excited to find a pair of frames that I liked after looking for a few weeks. I placed my order and couldn't wait to pick them up. I was told I'd be notified when they were ready, given a date two weeks out, but was told they often arrive in about a week. After hearing nothing for three weeks I called to see if they were ready. Their automated line told me they had no order on record for me! After reaching someone at the store I was told they'd been there for two weeks (!!) and that a manager had texted me, but no text ever came. But here's the really annoying part: when I picked them up and tried them on, there were blank lenses in them - no prescription at all! So they send them back and when I arrive for the pick up (round 2!!), first the person working didn't acknowledge me for 20 minutes, and second, when I finally tried them on, the prescription was wrong again - I'm near sighted and would never have been able to see well enough to drive with them. The sales clerk couldn't have been more rude, telling me she could tell the prescription was in them because she could see the blue light reflecting. Well maybe that's true, but if I can't see, I can't see. I asked for a full refund (I'll believe it when I see it). DO NOT BUY GLASSES HERE. read more

Visionworks at Southdale in Edina leaves much to be desired and I wish that I had read the negative reviews aplenty before buying my glasses there. The biggest irritation for me was them applying a $40 credit to my insurance Master Card (used for eye ware only) instead of my Visa card. They had told me when I ordered the glasses that if I found out in the first several months that I would prefer regular glasses versus the bifocals that I ordered that I would get a refund. Not exactly true when it's credited back to an eye ware only Master card because the only way I would see the $40 credit is if I bought a second pair of glasses by the end of the year. If crediting the insurance card first is their policy, that's fine. Withholding that information up front is misrepresentation. read more

I've been sitting here for a very long time and they've been helping people here who've been here shorter than me. They're all nice here, you guys just need more people and need to know who is next. I'm just here to pick up my glasses and I have to wait more than an hour... #annoyed UPADATE: So when I tried them on I couldn't see at all because my contacts were in, so everything was blurry, I came back home and took my contacts out and put them back on and saw that they were terrrrrribly lopsided! So noticeable, they even examined them while I was here the first time. So I had to drive all the way back and had to wait another hundred minutes. Danielle was awesome, she was conscious of my budget needs and worked to get me the best deal within my price range. Scheduled a routine eye exam online for the next day. They called to verify my insurance ahead of time. Optometrist and doctor were both professional and friendly. It was quick and easy and I have no complaints. When I said I preferred to order my glasses online the woman helping me measured my PD and didn't even try to sell me anything. Great job! read more

I have received excellent customer service from three different employees at this location. In one case, they hurried an order to make sure I would have my glasses when I was going out of town, and on another occasion, they redid the lenses of a new pair of bifocals that were not centered correctly, no questions asked. As with most vision Works stores, there is usually a bit of a wait to get waited on in the store, because they are busy, but I've never felt rushed, and I've always received excellent service. They don't even give you a lens cleaning cloth with your glasses purchase- after upselling you on everything! This is hard to imagine... was told you can buy one! lol!!! I went to Visionworks to have an eyeglass prescription renewed. My prescription from Target Optical (where I have always gone before) had recently expired, and because I had switched insurance providers, I needed a new opthalmologist. This was my first time with Dr. Tillman, and he carefully and methodically examined my eyes, and wrote out my new prescription. When I got home, I was shocked and thought there had been some mistake, as it didn't match my Target prescription from the year before. He assured me that I could come in again and he would look once more, if I was worried. He felt confident that the prescription was accurate, but he wanted me to feel that way, too. I appreciated his incredible professionalism and politeness when I came in a second time to have another check. Feeling more reassured after my second visit, I filled my prescription with some designer frames (from another store). The result? I couldn't be happier! Dr. Tillman's prescription was the most accurate eyeglass prescription I have ever received, and I see better now than I ever have before in my life. For years, I have been given a prescription that was too strong for my astigmatism, and overly corrective, but I was unaware of it until I tried on my new glasses. I couldn't believe the difference. Now, thanks to Dr. Tillman, I can see better than I ever have before in my life, and I am very grateful for the improvement. The poor reviews on Yelp seem to be mostly about the store management (wait times, appointments, etc.), and while those critiques are obvious deterrents, I wanted to highlight Dr. Tillman and how exceptional he was. I will be returning to Dr. Tillman in the future for my eye exams. read more

Very nice people work here. They were extremely helpful and efficient. My old glasses got mutilated and destroyed, and I needed a new pair of glasses STAT-especially since I'm going to Europe soon. I was actually thinking I might need to get contacts as a stopgap to the problem, but, boy, was I wrong. I was able to show up, pick out a new pair of glasses, and they were ready in less than 40 minutes after I picked them out. Unbelievable! Also, they handled my insurance, and the whole thing literally cost me 20 cents. 20 cents! I still can't believe this all worked so well. Thanks Visionworks! read more

The 1st set of glasses I got made my eyes go crossed. The attendant told me to give them a good try and start wearing them first thing in the morning. I wore them until I got a head ache. Brought them back and the prescription for my stigmatizim was totally left off the next pair. I was running late to my appointment due to traffic and construction (my fault for not planning accordingly) so as a courtesy i called ahead and informed them i was on my way and would be 5 minutes late. They said thanks for calling but just so you know, if you are 10 minutes late you will need to reschedule. I said no problem, I understand your policy everyone's time is important. As expected I arrived 5 minutes late. I was greeted by a worker who said someone will be with you in a moment. i proceeded to wait 6 minutes until a worker helped me and asked if i had an appointment. i said yes and she handed me a form to fill out (which i had already filled out the day before online) and said go sit in the waiting area and fill out the form. When you finish bring it back. When I entered the waiting area another worker asked me my name and i gave it to her and she said unfortunately you are over 10 minutes late so you will have to reschedule. i explained i had been waiting in the store for 5 minutes as instructed by the original worker who greeted me. the worker just repeated that i was 10 minutes late so I would have to reschedule. I looked at my phone and it was 11 minutes after my scheduled appointment. Needless to say, I will not be rescheduling. read more
