I will never go back to this place, ever, after all of the back-and-forth. Here's a list of things that went wrong: 1. Getting her glasses. They said it was only 2-3 weeks. It ended up being closer to 2-3 *months* before she got both scripts for her near and far-sighted glasses. One was late because they messed up the lenses the first time and had to redo them. They did not tell me this until I started complaining about why it was taking so long. 2. Getting insurance figured out. Most of the people I saw there were my mother's age and are (likely) on Medicare. You would think they never saw a Medicare card in their life. Adding in Tricare and federal BCBS, they could not figure out how bill her insurance. At first they said they couldn't run anything medical and charged us almost full price. Next time, they got all three insurances added to her account and started believing me that they could bill her medical because of her *medical diagnosis* of macular degeneration. Which leads me to... 3. Correctly billing for their services. I've been getting auto-mailed bills for an extra $100, saying that the insurance needs to be figured out. Well, I've been there twice, in person, with my mom to get this sorted, but apparently nothing has been done except updating her profile. This is totally opposite of what they promised to do, which is rerun her insurances and provide a *refund* for the difference she already paid. I'm calling them tomorrow to raise some grief about why, since APRIL, I'm still dealing with their nonsense. I'm at the point where the next establishment I'm calling is the Minnesota Board of Optometry. I'm an attorney, so remember kids that you can pursue legal options if your optometrist keeps messing up your prescription. Don't bring your elderly parents here. They also tried to upsell my mom on a pair of Kate Spade glasses when she's on a fixed income and has dementia. That sort of sales work is shady and morally repugnant.

Along with a string of "referrals" that a PCP SHOULD have been able to handle, my visit was changed to a "problem" visit rather than the physical that I scheduled which puts me owing A TON more money due to high deductible. Sure feel that Allina is having PCP's refer patients to specialists just because and running up bills. Although PCP's may be tied up in a Union battle with Allina, DONT take it out on your patients please!!!!!

This was clearly none of her concern and felt the issue had been dealt with previously. Asa result I have left Primary Care at the Eagan Clinic and located another clinic with Allina where I am treated with dignity and respect. The staff at the new clinic is fantastic and I just love my new Primary. I would NOT recommend anyone deciding to use Dr. Wicks as a Primary in the future.

He used old lenses that he pulled from a case to check vision, but had new equipment to check for eye pressure too - the best of both worlds. More than anything else, he was friendly and genuinely concerned about my vision and me as a patient and I was saddened when he retired. The past several years I've opted for the corporate giants for exams, but this year I decided to look for a real private practice and found one right down the street! I'm adding all of this because I was so surprised by how much Dr Tyler reminded me of that optometrist! Dr. Tyler did a great job with his exam and he spent a chunk of time with me. His effort to answer questions and explain what he found in the exam was way over and above what I've gotten used to the past years - like I said: Superb!! Within a month, I was experiencing symptoms of macular degeneration, I can't believe she never said a word to me at the appointmen. I called to make an appointment after identifying symptoms. When I called to schedule, I told the scheduler I had concerns about macular. She said there were notes about it in my file from September. This is so egregious and unprofessional. I am appalled. She then said, I can request notes from the front desk after my appointments. Apparently they have no portal. I just went on line to review the notes and there is nowhere on their website to establish a portal. Whether or not i can ask for notes isirrelevant. She had an obligation to discuss this with me before I left.

I'm a type two diabetic and they were able to help check me for eye issues for that. I think the whole situation probably only took about 45 minutes. The only thing I can say bad about them is that the intake form that I filled out online wasn't necessarily working well when it came to taking my insurance card. I thought it was weird that they made me sign a waiver so now I'm out over $750 without even a sorry. No type of apology whatsoever. I paid a copay also for the lenses in these frames but since I'm unable to wear them, the lenses are worthless. I have to start over but now I've used my benefits for the year. The first person I worked with on this did not have all the answers and sent me to other departments. Based on how frustrating this has been, I do not plan to schedule surgery here and now have to start all over to find an eye clinic.
