If I'm not mistaken she was Chief Resident at Children's hospital and then worked with Dr Lenoir for a while. I was so happy to be blessed to encounter her. I had one child who had a feeding tube at the time and other issues and she was amazing and so supportive. Her laugh is the best and it makes you smile. Sometimes the wait time was a bit long but I never changed. My kids aged out of needing a pediatrician so they dragged me out of there fighting and kicking lol. (Not literally!). I love Dr Glann and was so grateful to have her. She accepts all sort of insurance including Medi-Cal. A physician of her caliber could have easily served more prosperous communities so I thank her for her many years of awesome care and dedication to marginalized and underserved community! Love you Dr Glann! Hope you read this and smile.

She really is one of a kind. One of the best things about Dr. Glann is she takes care of the WHOLE community. She is one of the very few doctors that take medical, which was crucial through my bouts of pandemic related unemployment. This allowed my child continuity of care and for that I am grateful. We will be with her until my kid turns 18. Dr. Glann is the absolute best!

We knew from the get-go that we wanted a pediatrician that respected our healthcare beliefs and fostered a positive, welcoming health care environment for our daughter. Dr. Amy and her staff are amazing. Each visit is unique and individualized, providing enough time to thoroughly discuss any questions or concerns. Dr. Amy is exceptionally knowledgeable and truly cares for her patients. Her office gives off a warm, cozy vibe unlike traditional doctor offices. Due to a recent move, we unfortunately have had to find a different pediatrician for our daughter. But, Dr. Amy has been absolutely wonderful to our daughter over the past 5 months, and any child would be lucky to be under her care!

We love her approach to pediatrics and our children like going to the doctor because it's always a pleasant experience to visit her office. Highly recommend this practice and Dr. Maidenberg' s expert care and guidance!

Halfway through the visit, my 2 month old began crying. To quiet him, Dr. Usem put his ungloved, unwashed hand inside my baby's mouth to quiet him. I was shocked and horrified but at that point it was too late to say anything because it had already been done. Fortunately my pandemic baby didn't get sick or anything but it made me as a parent sick to my stomach. This happened last year in early 2020 and I was meaning to write this sooner to warn other pandemic parents but it kept slipping my mind. I hope that they have upped their sanitation and PPE requirements with all that is going on with COVID. I never came back to this office after that.

There have been multiple occasions when one of our children have shown signs of an ear infection late at night, and she responded promptly, saw them to make an accurate diagnosis, and made sure they received the treatment they needed as soon as possible. Whenever my kids feel anxious about an appointment, she is able to calm their fears, make them feel safe, and even turn the visit into a positive experience. I especially appreciate how thoroughly she explains medical concerns in a way that's easy to understand. She takes the time to answer questions and listens to my concerns. And to add: We've seen a few other doctors from East Bay Peds right after our son was born due to the nature of newborn's doc schedules, and everyone has been so nice. They do have 1 or 2 doctors that do circumcisions (lots of info for ya, right there). Back to Dr. Pickering. She's funny, she's real laid back in the most professional kind of way, she's smart and easy to talk to as a parent. She takes time to answer all our questions, and makes sure to ask us questions. She's far from uptight or reserved and we really like that about her. She's fun! We def are first time parents and have 1000000 & 1 questions every time we see her. Half the time she laughs and tells us we're doing a great job and keep doing it and the other time she elaborates to us what really getting at: what should we be feeding our son? Is there anything we can be doing to make sure he develops the best way possible? Yada yada yada. They're pretty on time. We've never had any problem scheduling an appointment. There's a playground next door. It's a few blocks from Elmwood if we need lunch. They have a 24 hour hot-line with a nurse which I'm not gonna lie: we've called probably about 20x this first year: is his head flat, he has a splinter, why is his butt so red, etc... Overall, we're super happy with East Bay Peds. They are organized, professional, but also so warm and inviting. * I'd like to thank the heavens and stars that be that our son is healthy and we haven't had any issues; I can't tell you how they deal with that or emergencies.

But Dr. Miller is why I decided to write this review. She was on call when our son was born so we met her in the hospital, and now again today (a year later) when we needed to speak to the on call doctor about an injury my son just had. From that first interaction to this one, Dr. Miller has made us feel like insufficient, blundering parents. Today my son accidentally got hold of a clothes hanger and cut the inside of his mouth. I obviously already feel like a terrible parent, and the questions she asked, and the way she asked them, were so condensing and judgmental ("does he often play with hangers?") it pushes me into an even deeper feeling of insufficiency and guilt and is entirely unhelpful in trying to assess if my child needs additional care. When trying to describe what happened, she asked for pictures and I asked a clarifying question and she laughed at me and responded in a way that made me feel so stupid for asking. She was like this the day he was born as well, trying to push us into make a fast decision on a very important topic that we learned later we actually had weeks to decide on. As a parent, this is the last person I want to answer the phone when I'm at my most vulnerable, panicking about a situation, and need advice. I would not advise working with Dr. Miller.

The front office staff was just okay--not extremely helpful for new patients, but that's fine. The facilities are old (loved?) and could use an update but again, not the end of the world, albeit noticeable. What was disappointing was the visit with the Doctor. I guess she is an external verbal processor--so there were lots of unnecessary and rather off putting comments that casually flowed off of her tongue.
