I recently brought my kids in for their appointment, and I had a great experience from start to finish. The front desk staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful, which made the check-in process smooth and stress-free. The doctors were just as wonderful patient, attentive, and great with my children. They took the time to answer questions and made sure we felt comfortable throughout the visit. As a parent, it's reassuring to find a pediatric office where everyone genuinely cares about the families they serve. My kids felt at ease, and I left feeling confident that they received excellent care. Thank you to the entire team for making what can sometimes be a stressful appointment such a positive experience. Highly recommend! read more

My daughter is a patient here, and we've had a wonderful experience. The front desk staff is always welcoming and friendly. Ahmirah and Itzel are both incredibly helpful and always willing to go the extra mile to assist families. The providers and medical assistants are kind, caring, and always take the time to help. One thing I especially appreciate is that they offer same-day sick appointments for their patients. It's extremely helpful when your child needs to be seen quickly and saves families from spending hours waiting in the emergency room. Highly recommend this office! read more

This office is dirty and gross. Stay away, patient as a child and honestly in the modern era I think you could file lawsuits against how they treat children. Never felt more violated or body shamed. Took years of therapy to get better -- stay away! Sucks to suck sorry I was smarter than them, don't treat a smart girl like shit and call her fat when youre strong. Never seen such a backwards practice, surprising its in the Bay Area. Disgusting!!!! Stay away, go somewhere with actual standards read more

Front desk ladies are very rude especially if that have to get out there seats and do something

Our daughter is 7. We just switched from Kaiser to PPO and are glad we found Kiwi Pediatrics. The clinic is a few miles from our house. The doctor we saw, Dr. Benjamin Jarrahi, spent a good hour with us for the first visit and I learned so much from him. The questions are thoughtful and not just a checklist. Our daughter is fairly healthy with no issues but there are still a lot to learn since these are such important years. read more

Dr. Tucker has been our daughter's pediatrician since birth--over 4.5 years--and we couldn't have asked for a more caring and attentive doctor. She is kind, compassionate, and always takes the time to thoughtfully answer our questions and concerns regarding our daughter's health and overall well-being. We recently switched providers only because the Albany location closed and the new office is farther from home. Otherwise, we would have happily continued with Dr. Tucker. We highly recommend her to any family looking for a dedicated and trustworthy pediatrician. read more

My daughter was a patient at Kiwi as a newborn. She had significant challenges with feeding and weight gain and I found this practice to be -- to put it mildly -- profoundly unhelpful and unsupportive. As a new parent, I always finished a visit feeling worse than when it started (and that's saying something). I do not recommend bringing your baby here. We transferred care to Dr. Glann at Laurel Pediatrics and have been much happier. read more

The front office staff (Jill) is really unfriendly. I've been at this practice for over a year now and I've been patient and open to different styles but she's just rude and unhelpful. Over the weekend I dropped of a physicians form for summer camp. Apparently the black box out front is not Kiwi's, it's for 1747 Alcatraz. They could state in bold letters on the box that it's not for Kiwi or maybe even offer to ask the business if they get something that they shouldn't have. The business should know it's not for them and for Kiwi because there are no other physicians on that block. I mean there's PHI on these forms. read more

My daughter is 2 and has been seen at Kiwi on Alcatraz since she was born. Dr. Kittams is a very kind man who seems to have a calming effect on children (certainly on mine). Our doctor was changed suddenly though, without asking, to another doctor at the practice. I am still not sure why. She's also a good doctor but I began my daughter's medical life with Dr. Kittams because he was recommended by my OB/GYN who cared for me my entire pregnancy. The nurses are always nice and gentle with my little one, though they tend to flee the room quickly after giving shots (not that I blame them). Also, the office/waiting room aren't "dirty" they're just very kid-friendly, so don't look as sterile as other medical/hospital environments. The examination rooms *are* very small, but they don't really need any reason to be big, as far as I know. read more

We are so grateful to Kiwi and their wonderful providers! My daughter has asthma and when she is having a flare-up, we are always immediately seen by kind, loving, and smart practitioners. My family and I trust each one completely and cannot believe their commitment to their patients (such as calling us in the evening and on weekends to check in when asthma is active). The front staff ad assistants have always been very friendly and do their jobs well. My daughter loos forward to going, whether it is a well-child visit or an acute visit. Lastly, I love the way everyone there from the front office to assistants to providers treat the children with respect and direct questions to them and include them in their own care. Thank you Kiwi!!! read more

Been going here for several years with my special needs kiddo. The doctors are amazing. We love the nurse practitioner Mark. He's so friendly and nice. They're very open to how I like things done with my daughter. Never judge me for using cannabis with her. The only neg I can think of is other kids in the waiting room who stare and won't play with her cause she's different (teach your kids manors parents!) but the nurses will usually come grab us pretty fast and are very friendly to her read more

I have been here for yrs. about 10 yrs. I never had a problem. All the PA and Dr's are friendly. Safe are friendly. Waiting room is not always neat but it's a kids doctor office. Staff always double checks the injections they need and didn't receive. Especially if I'm not sure. Dr's always give an option for treatment and let's me decide. No parking lot but around the corner there is parking, street parking. Sometimes it's hard to get the front desk but I always double it up with an email and I will get a response. I never have a problem getting an appointment. Of course there are sick and non sick children together again it's a Doctor's office. read more

The doctor's care is solid, but the front desk is seriously the worst ever

This place is a disaster in so many ways. First of all, it is the MOST DISORGANIZED AND RUDE doctor's office I have ever been to. Twice, I have scheduled appointments for well child checks months in advance and when we arrive for our appointment, it has been scheduled on the wrong day by their front office staff (they use a pencil and paper book which is maybe part of the problem?) or there is some other issue with the appointment and say they cannot see my child. They never apologize or deny ever being in the wrong and don't try to help mitigate the situation. Generally, their approach is to go on the offensive. It seems like Kiwi's motto is "the customer is always wrong." As for medical care, I'm also not impressed. Once when I went there for urgent care for my baby, one of the doctors googled my child's medical concern and literally read something from WebMD to me while staring at her phone. It's also a generally dirty office and has no separation between well and sick children, so your well infant will be exposed to all sorts of illnesses when you go in for their well check-ups. I really hope no one's child has been harmed by this clinic's disorganization and mediocre medical care. Do yourself and child a favor and stay away from here. It's hard to believe they're still in business! read more

Excellent group of doctors you can trust your children with. Compassionate while excellent in their field, I highly recommend them for any one looking for a classic care from a pediatrician. read more

We've seen two pediatricians here with our baby who is four months old today. They've both been very nice and friendly. The only negative is the examining rooms are very small, almost claustrophobic. But it's the quality of care that matters! read more

I've been taking my daughter here for three years since birth. The nurses and doctors are all very compassionate and excellent. The only issue is with front desk is pretty rude. read more

Awesome local doctors office I've been bringing my kids to for 10 years now! Wouldn't want them to go anywhere else

I had high hopes as this pediatrics group was recommended, however, after visiting what can only be described as a cramped somewhat dirty office, dr Salsburg injected my 4 year old with the wrong vaccination, a vaccination meant for a teenager. You can not begin to understand the frustration when your trust is lost in a doctor. Beyond that minor oversight, they made us take our dirty diaper with us. I was told that is because they don't take their garbage out daily... A pediatric office that makes you take your diaper with you because they can't be bothered to take out the trash. read more

This is a wonderful pediatric office. The office staff is great to work with - they do everything they can to meet your needs and take care of you and your children. And the doctors and NP's are great. Our two children have received excellent care with them. read more

Our family has been going to Kiwi for 9 years since our first-born was a newborn. I'm surprised at the negative reviews, because we have always had such good experiences with staff at Kiwi. We have worked with all three Drs (Kittams, Winokur and Salsburg) and many other NPs etc. There are often interns/residents there as it is a teaching office, so sometimes you get seen twice in a visit. The Drs are very personable, and I never feel rushed. Our older daughter has special needs, and I found Kiwi Drs to be exceptionally kind and straight forward with us when she was first diagnosed as an infant. When our second born broke her arm (now twice!), her Dr calls to check in on her, even though we went to Children's not Kiwi for the cast. We chose to get all of the vaccinations and on schedule, and had a conversation about if we did want to stagger shots what that would look like (facilitated by Dr Salsburg). Our daughters, 9 and 7, are always greeted by the front staff, and love the waiting room. It isn't a sterile-looking environment, so don't expect that, as it is colorful and they have well-loved books, toys, and kid-furniture, but it is clean and my kids don't get bored waiting. I appreciate that Kiwi intentionally serves all different demographics. The actual rooms are relatively small, but doesn't really seem like a big deal to me. Overall, we are really happy with Kiwi and have been for 9 years! read more

Robin Winokur at Kiwi Pediatrics has been our child's pediatrician for the last twelve years. She is simply a WONDERFUL physician. I can tell example after example of ways she has been helpful in treating our daughter. Dr. Winokur will go the second mile time and time again to be of help. I also love her calm, easy going bed side manner with children. She understands kids soooo well, and treats our daughter as though she is really special. We feel incredibly grateful to have had such a dedicated, astute, seasoned doctor. There really arent any better Pediatricians out there than the docs at Kiwi Peds. They are simply the BEST!!! Their whole team excels, including the office staff who are really, really sweet, and again, make a ton of effort. read more

My kids were seen by a variety of doctors in this group since birth. When they turned 7 yrs old I found anothther pedatric office. The front office satff was rude and I belive to have over stepped their boundaries on several occasions with smirky comments.I really was disappointed to have to leave. The office and the sitting area was not clean on several visits. The nurse practioners were competent and kind. The doctors were as well. Enough was enough for me with the yound staff in the front office attempting to answer questions and give advice that was completely out of their scope of practice. read more

We came to Kiwi in 2011 with the arrival of our first child. Dr. Winokur was referred to us by a family friend who is a pediatrician. 8 years later I'm beyond thrilled with Kiwi - physicians and staff. We primarily see Dr. Winokur, but also see the others physicans as we have 1 child with chronic illness and 1 healthy child. Dr. Winokur has always remained up-to-date on our chronically ill child's constant care with specialists outside their practice and is an advocate for our child during on-going care. Dr. Winokur and Dr. Salsburg have always been extremely responsive when we reach out after hours/weekends. Ultimately, we come here because of the referral based on expertise - not the building or latest technology integration. We have stayed because of the quality of care. I've saw a negative comment here about Jill, but have to tell you that I've only had great experiences with her. She's always been friendly and greets us with a smile. Jill has also been extremely helpful getting us the referrals required by our HMO for our child to see the specialists required to treat the chronic illness. read more

Kiwi is outstanding. I have to say I am surprised by the vehemence of two of the negative reviews about the front desk service being lousy, and about a mixed-up vaccination. The receptionists and nurses have always been helpful and cheerful with us, and have been awesome about squeezing in urgent last-minute office visits. The two doctors we know there are sweet people who do fine work, although I can imagine I would be pissed if the doctor injected my kid with the wrong medicine. I just can't see Dr Salsburg doing anything terribly incompetent or dangerous with a child. she is great. read more

Our daughter is 5 and loves Dr. Kittams. He is very sweet and good with kids, talking to them directly rather than only about them to the parent when they're in the room! I would disagree with two other reviews about a "dirty" waiting room and the complaint about having to pack out their baby's dirty diaper. Perhaps these doctors have put some thought into their practice and the world in which our kids are growing up, in terms of a kid-friendly waiting room and conserving resources! This practice also made a conscious choice to be available to a traditionally under-served community, so in that sense probably keeps costs down to be able to offer everyone quality care. The waiting room is not "dirty", it is just not the uninteresting, bare, Kaiser-like environment with TV constantly going. Our daughter got sick more often after a visit to Kaiser than she has at Kiwi... Kiwi has toys and lots of books that are always changing as they have a "take-a-book, leave-a-book" policy! As for the "they made me take my diaper with me" review, they have different trash cans for different things - hazardous waste is of course separate, and the other smaller trash can is covered and taken out when full - maybe smart not to put relatively empty plastic trash bags into the landfill daily? Of course an observant parent is not going to let their kid open up the lid and dig in the trash can, so no problem. I would think that a dirty diaper would stink even if left for the course of one day in a trash can, so don't see an issue with their policy. But we always did cloth diapers, so it never was a big deal to pack out ours. I don't find the Kiwi exam rooms to be that much smaller than Kaiser Oakland where we were previously. Plenty of space for kid and parent and doctor to sit, and then exam table... Why would it need to be bigger? Finally, Dr. Kittams doesn't talk down to parents or patients. If asked, he'll explain in detail any relevant medical issues, which I extremely appreciate after some of my experiences at Kaiser. Being a biologist, I want to know what's behind a doctor's decision for my daughter's treatment. read more

This office gave my child a vaccine that we specifically asked them not to! We wanted to put our second kid on a delayed schedule - as soon as they heard this, the focus of all of our visits was about preaching vaccines to us, to the detriment of ignoring other issues that we brought up, which eventually became bigger problems since they were ignored. The nurse practitioner was especially obsessed with the vaccines, as if that was her only reason for seeing our newborn. At a routine visit, the pediatrician 'accidentally' gave our baby a chicken-pox vaccine that we specifically requested not be given - i see in the filtered reviews here that this has also happened to someone else. We have also been waiting ONE YEAR to get our kindergardener's immunization records, despite paying an extra fee for 'rush' records and calling multiple times. In addition to being disrespectful, patronizing, and unethical to families, the waiting areas and checkup rooms are not clean. Take your kids somewhere else! read more
