I love Chinese bakeries because I grew up with them. I have been dying to eat some ham and corn bao and can never find a bakery that makes them. They are getting harder to find when I visit my family back in California. Since moving to Philly, I was pleasantly surprised to see how available they are in so many of the bakeries! The breads and pastries here are cheap and delicious. You can walk out with a giant bag of bread for less than $10. I've tried the ham and corn bun (almost as good as the ones I grew up eating), hot dog bun, and their bbq pork puff pastry. All were delicious, especially the bbq pork pastry since it just came out of the oven. It was super fresh and still pipping hot. I will continue to support this local establishment. I believe they are cash only though!

Small bakery place compared to other but their buns are delicious. My favorite from here is the cheese bread. No fillings inside the bread but it has a hint of sweetness and the cheese is melted to perfection. Has coffee/smoothie options as well!

Fellow yelpers, I will begin my review with this: Today, 3/9/19, my friends and I did "The Egg Tart Challenge". This was Bakery stop #4 of 7. This bakery was very big with a lot of seats. Although there were no other patrons inside, the ambiance was complete with lively music! And several people came inside to pick up their custom cakes! Happy Birthday Sue (your cake looked awesome)! Regarding the main event- the Egg Tart ($1.00). This egg tart was veryy veryy egg-y. You could taste hard boiled eggs over the sugar and vanilla. I personally didn't like this taste in a desert. But there was a big difference between this tart and all of the others on this challenge. In am attempt to counteract the blood sugar high, we got a few protein dishes. The Chicken Sticky rice was served warm and we loved it! Great flavors and a better ratio of chicken to sticky rice. Still alot of rice, but the chicken was tender and flavorful. Also, we got a Roast Pork Pie. Again, the carb to protein ratio was off. But the barbecue pork was really really good! I had a few chewy pieces of meat but I really loved this pastry!!! Try this!!!!!!! Thank you International Bakery!

In a tiny nestled away shop on the edge of Chinatown there's this hidden gem filled with delicious goodies.. These buns are by far my favorite in all of Chinatown Philly! The shop opens early on weekdays making it the perfect stop for a quick breakfast treat. The buns are baked fresh daily, and when they're gone -- that's it for the day. They have a wide range of selection from your pork bun, hot dog bun, chicken pie, egg tarts, milk buns, AND my FAVORITE the pineapple bun (and pineapple custard bun). The best part?! THE BUNS ARE ONLY $1 each. I usually come in and pick out a few buns and a drink, and I leave more than satisfied. The drinks are also relative cheap compared to the bubble tea shops in town. The milk tea here is delicious (iced or hot) and only is a dollar or two! If you're planning on going to Chinatown for a quick bite -- I highly recommend checking out this small bake shop. Or maybe even as a quick dessert after your meal (TRY THE PINEAPPLE BUN-- NO IT DOES NOT TASTE LIKE PINEAPPLE). Think of a sweet soft fresh bun with crumbling flavors that melt in your mouth. The buns are fresh & delicious.. and now after writing this I want them.

I love it here!! Their drinks are just the right amount of sweet and their buns are like no other bakery.

A go to spot in Chinatown if you're wanting a delicious Chinese breakfast! They have it all-hot freshly made congee, stir fry mei fun, and the most yummy Chinese style buns. My favorite is the pineapple bun with butter inside-ask for them to heat it up for u if you're eating there and get a milk tea or coffee to have the perfect pairing!

The sweet potato pies that are sold to restaurants are the worse I've ever tasted in my 61 years on earth. Very dark and thick.

The pandan cake and egg tart were perfectly not-too-sweet, which is why I personally tend to gravitate towards Asian baked goods. It's a smaller but very cozy and homey interior with two tables for sitting down to enjoy your coffee and pastries. It's also cash only or Venmo, so keep that in mind if you never carry cash! It's a small bakery and a small selection but sufficient. We got the sponge bread, the custard bread, the egg tart, the pineapple bun, and the barbecue pork bun for )10.70 cash. The sponge bread is slightly sweet and very light and really quite wonderful. The barbecue pork bun and the pineapple bun were exactly as it should taste. No wonder those two are the best sellers. The egg tart is not too sweet, none of these breads are (aka high praise for any pastries ). Would definitely return! I thought the service was nice. I think there could be some challenges with English, but you could also just point!! My personal favorites are the sponge bread and the pineapple bun. So that's what I would get again. For people who love barbecue pork bun, I think you probably would want to get this.

If you know, you know. The pastries here are absolutely worth the detour--and honestly, wherever I see a Paris Baguette, I do pull over. That includes locations I've visited in Northern California, North Brunswick, New Jersey, Atlanta, Georgia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and even the one here in Charlotte down in Pineville. It's a bit of a drive for me, but when I'm in that area, I always make a point to stop in and pick up a couple of their delicious croissant-donut pastries and marzipan or almond croissants. That's the beauty of this bakery--it's a chain, yes, but the consistency is what keeps me coming back. I have yet to be disappointed. Of course, I had to stop at this Hilton Head location--and I didn't come empty-handed. Food connects people, and bringing pastries to your host is always a winning move. I picked up three different varieties of their famous croissant-donut style pastries (similar to the well-known cronut): * Chocolate * Tiramisu * Mango And I added two large almond croissants that were beautifully filled, flaky, and indulgent. Everything looked fresh, full, and irresistible. The setup inside is easy and efficient. It's self-serve: you grab a tray, line it with parchment, use the tongs, and select whatever catches your eye--from baguettes to cakes to coffee drinks. Checkout was quick, Apple Pay was accepted, and the whole experience felt smooth and well organized. The space was clean, friendly, and inviting, with plenty of outdoor seating. Bottom line: Whenever you see a Paris Baguette on your radar, pull over. It's dependable, delicious, and perfect for picking up pastries to share--or to treat yourself. For me, it's one of those rare places that delivers the same quality every single time, no matter the city--and that kind of consistency is something I truly appreciate as a traveler and lifelong foodie.
