I found this place from reviews. It doesn't look like much from the pictures but people give it really high reviews so I wanted to give them a try. I believe the owner is an old couple. First visit had an older woman as the cashier that grabbed my items and rung me up. The second visit was an older man running the venue. They probably own the place. This place is in the middle of a small strip mall. The store is packed with pastries, cooking additives, and cakes. I tried all 3 pies: cheese, mushroom, and spinach. All 3 pastries are extremely flaky and good. The pies are bigger than you would expect. Best to warm up the pieces before eating. The cheese is pretty basic. The mushroom takes like a protein and is very filling. The spinach is flavorful. I tried the black forest cake (white top and black top) and the fruit cake. All three tasted pretty similar and pretty good. I also tried the cookie, almond crescent, and brownie. The cookie is hard as a brick. I should have sprayed the cookie with water and microwaved it to bring softness back. The almond crescent and brownie are amazing. The almond crescent has the perfect balance of sweetness and savory. This bakery is a small, cozy located in a nondescript strip mall on Cheshire Bridge Rd. It is indeed "international" in so many ways, ranging from the ownership, the clientele, and of course, the products. You will see many of the food items don't even have English written on them (though there are, at times, helpful translations). Much of it seems to be Greek, though I imagine that other Old World inspirations (Macedonia?) are relevant as well. They seem to specialize in baked goods. Desserts pervade the venue in any forms, ranging from large cakes to smaller pastries. I decided to support a local bakery by ordering a birthday cake for my toddler, rather than defaulting to the reliable green giant of grocers in the neighborhood. I arrived at International Bakery the day of the party to pick it up, festive spirit in tow. But the cake? Not ready. Not even started. The man behind the counter offered no greeting, no apology--just told me to wait five minutes, like I was ordering a sandwich. He retrieved a frozen cake, hastily applied lemon filling, and adorned it with blue roses. I had asked for a fully blue cake--filling, icing, the works. What I received looked like it belonged at a church basement baby shower. Not exactly what you want for a three-year-old's birthday. Eventually, he admitted he hadn't submitted the order. Still no apology. No discount. No attempt at restitution. Just vibes. I wanted to believe in the neighborhood bakery. But in this case, the big green grocery would've delivered--literally and figuratively. Alas. What a shame. read more

Customer service was fast. He was not particular talkative/friendly which I don't mind. The baklava and spinach pie were fantastic taste wise but just a bit soggy and lacked the flakiness I love. The almond crescents were the best I have had in a while and the tiramisu was a different take then what I was used to. It was a bit more plain and didnt have the bottom coffee layer I am used to. Overall, I would come back for those crescents! read more

I've always been curious about the International Bakery next door to Taqueria del Sol and one day we thought, why not. The bakery was quiet but the food and decor was like a loud supermarket, just without all the noise. I've never craved Greek desserts before but I was intrigued since they all looked so beautiful. I limited myself to only two, and we ended up getting a mini cream puff and a fruit tart. The mini cream puff was SO cute I couldn't resist. There was WAY too much cream (although, is that ever REALLY a bad thing?). The fruit tart wasn't the easiest dessert to eat or share, but definitely a pretty dessert and also pretty tasty. The guy at the counter was quiet and left us alone while we shopped and decided. Not especially helpful but I didn't mind being left to my own devices!! If I'm ever in the area again with a sweet tooth, I can imagine myself stopping back in for another treat - however, I'm not sure I would go out of my way for it, especially since I live much closer to another local Greek bakery! read more

This is some of the best baklava I've had in atlanta! I stopped by this past Saturday morning to pick some up because Ive been craving some recently. This is a must try place! Support Small Local Business Owners!! It sucks to see that the bridge being down has affected this business, but they still do not fall short. All the cookies, pies, pastries, and cannolis are to die for. Everything is so good!! The service is a little slow and dry, not a lot of talking, but the overall experience is great. The space in the front of the store is very tight, and a lot of things are sort of pilled on top of one another, so you may have to dig around to find stuff. Really good bakery! His 6 brothers and 2 sisters are all in Greece but he came to America to live out his dream. Him and his wife run this small bakery and everything in there looks delicious. This place is a hidden gem, located just north of the bridge on Cheshire Bridge Road. It doesn't look like much from the exterior, but inside is an old-school Greek bakery where pastries and cookies are made by George and his wife with love. I always order the spanakopita and the baklava. My wife absolutely loves their eclairs, generously filled with vanilla custard and topped with awe-inspiring chocolate icing. Very highly recommended. read more

Let me tell you about one of the best kept secrets in Atlanta. It is hands down, this bakery. Nestled in the same strip as Domino's, they have some of the best pastries you can put in your mouth. From a lemon cake with mouse filling, to cheesecake topped with a sliced strawberry, to baklava. Food is half taste, half presentation. And their desserts taste as good, if not better, than they look. I'll definitely be back. read more

I would highly recommend this bakery . They are a locally owned family business. The food here is delicious and freshly made everyday . They have fresh spinach , mushroom , or cheese pies made fresh every morning and they cost less than 2$ which is an steal for what you get. I would recommend getting the almond biscottis because they might be the best biscottis that I have every had . Defiantly trumps the single individual biscottis that you can buy. The prices are very reasonable and everything is made fresh. What more could you ask for? read more

I have been coming here for over 20 years. The desserts are excellent along with the mushroom and spinach pie. Please give the gentleman that started this business some love. He started his bakery as a young immigrant by going door to door to restaurants in town selling his baklava. His hard work paid off. He's a nice guy and always respectful. read more

I love their fruit tarts! My son loves their chocolate cakes I think they are. The only reason why I don't give it 5 stars is because the old man at the register is pretty rude.. I mean I don't really mind but if you're a sensitive person you definitely wouldn't like it here. I live like 40 minutes away and I'll still drive to go get some of those amazing fruit tarts. read more

Our stops here are always preceded by lunch at Taqueria del Sol - two doors away. When I first discovered this Bakery, I mentioned it to a Greek friend. He immediately recognized the place and told me how they provide the baklava at most Middle Eastern restaurants in metro Atlanta. It is obvious why. Here the baklava is delicious and reasonably priced. Tuesday, I decided to try a large eclair. It was delicious and also reasonably priced. My favorite is still the baklava. My wife stuck with the baklava and was happy with it, as we knew she would be. read more

If I have one regret it was the regret of driving past this place day in and day out and never stopping in to see what they had to offer. I see the "OPEN" sign at 8 AM so I have no excuse. I went yesterday....and today...and will most likely be back tomorrow. Yesterday I had the most delightful coconut maccaroon that was dipped in chocolate on the base. This thing was the size of my hand. When you bit into it, it was like biting into what I imagine being a coconut cloud. It was so much fluffier than I imagined it would be. It had a perfect texture and sweetness to it. I also got a piece of Baklava because its a Greek bakery. That is what you do. It was dripping in the syrup and was flaky and magical....and a little messy. So good that I had to return again. Today I mixed it up. I got a lb of cookies (almond lace and pretzel looking shortbread cookies dipped in chocolate and sprinkles), a sesame snack bar, dark chocolate black forrest cake slice and a Spinach pastry. I ate the spinach pastry which was like Spanikopita and it was OMG divine!!!! The cookies were shared among the friends and fam and are so good! The sesame snack was so sweet and delish. I will save the cake for later. Guess what? All of this today was $13!!! The prices are amazing! If you see Tacqueria Del Sol, it is to the left. No big sign, but so worth stopping in. read more

This place has been on my list and I finally made it on Monday. I have been craving a tasty pastry and this spot did not fail. Since it was my 1st time I decided to brouse and weigh my options. I decided on the chocolate brownie, apple turnover and a slice of spinach pie. I couldn't wait to get home and let me tell ya....I will be back. The brownie was fudgy on the inside and had that crust on the outside. The apple turnover and spinach pie were light, flakey and melted in my mouth. The food and the desserts are out of this world. All the desserts are made in house. The food is imported from Greece I know that because I grow up and raised there. Everything is beyond nice with the exception of the male owner. I am shopping there for about 25 years and still I have not seen a smile in his face but oh well this is life. I was having a craving for something sweet and after searching for bakeries on Yelp, thought of giving this place with such good reviews a try. It is located on Cheshire Bridge Road (if it helps, it is on the same lane as Little Bangkok and just next to Taqueria del sol). Ambiance: It's a small old fashioned bakery with bakery items on display to pick up or choose and check out at the counter for carry- out only. Taste: Placed the following order: 1.Baklava (available per piece or pack of 18 piece etc):They were delicious with rich dry fruits filling, being crispy, flaky with perfect level of sweetness. I picked up the triangle shaped Baklava. They also have ladyfingers shaped and tart shaped Baklava available. 2.Tiramisu cake(piece): it is a tiramisu flavored 2 layered cake. The cake was spongy and the frosting fresh with the ideal Tiramisu flavor. 3.Coconut mousse cake (piece): 2 layer spongy cake with coconut mousse frosting. Tasted good. 4.Fruit (cake) tart: This was a delectable tart. The tart was firm and the filling was creamy, topped with fresh strawberries and kiwi. The above pieces of cakes/rectangular pastries cost somewhere around $2.75 each. Service: The staff was friendly, helpful and polite to answer my queries regarding items available. Overall, I liked everything that I ordered. Of what I ordered, Baklava were certainly the best. Cakes here might not be the best you ever had, but they provide you a delightful feeling/taste of a spongy home baked cake with fresh frosting. Tastes comforting. I would love to visit here again to try other bakery products they offer. Price is quite reasonable. Taking into account the old fashioned style of this bakery and the range of bakery products they offer, I would recommend this bakery to give it a try at least once. read more

Small bakery/market in size but packed with a lot of authentic Greek goodies. Their desserts are most delicious with the exception of their kataifi. I'm a kataifi (sine childhood) fan of and to my disappointment it was the worst I've had. It wasn't wrapped in the authentic kataifi shredded phyllo but in some kind of wheat..eek, not good! read more

The space is pretty tight, and you're going to be close to the tables near you, but we were able to sit comfortably. Our server came over quickly to take our drink orders, and afterward she came back to answer any questions. Most of the food was ready at the same time. We appreciated that it came out as it was ready and wasn't left sitting. And everyone enjoyed the food! The only "complaint" one of my friends had was that she thought there was a little too much sauce in her shrimp and grits dish. She felt that the sauce, while it tasted great, overpowered the dish and she would've liked to taste more of the grits flavor. All in all, I'd say we'll likely be back to try something else on the menu.

This was kind of irritating and my daughter had already peeped this as we were standing in line waiting for our sandwiches with our sides on a tray getting cooler and cooler. The line was long and this will likely be the case a lot of the time so this doesn't work well. My daughter had a special order of beef taquitos that had to come out later so you know her sides were cold. When she requested new sides or to warm them up she was met with an attitude by one of the workers so that didn't go over well. This was weird to us because the food shoud be warm at the very least, so customer service was lacking there but they did honor her request. If they are going to keep this cafeteria line style setup, we all thought the meats and entrees should be first and then sides so as to avoid having lukewarm or cold sides because all four of us had cold sides by the time we sat down after getting get our drinks and sauces and stuff. And sides should come out together with the special orders so the food is not cold. But hey, I know I'm not Lewis, but yall got my two cents anyway Overall, we had delicious food in a nice, clean establishment. And on the plus side, the Beltline is literally a few steps away!

I ordered the Thai Tea x Strawberry swirl because I thought it was unique, but in hindsight I really should've just gone with either or. Thai tea is a naturally strong flavor, but strawberry is not. So unfortunately, the strawberry was completely overpowered, and the thai tea was a bit confusing when mixed with the strawberry. The cornflake topping was very yummy though! I would be open to coming back, but definitely will be more careful with which flavors I swirl. There was no line when I went but based on other reviews it looks like there usually is a line during peak times. Service is fast though! I parked off of Ralph McGill Blvd NE for free street parking.

A MUST-GO! I went…read morehere on a Sunday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. The line was long but I got through it quickly in about 5 minutes. I ordered a petit cup of vanilla soft serve with a cookie butter hardshell and cornflake streusel. It was DELICIOUS PERFECTION! The soft serve was so creamy and smooth, and didn't melt quickly in the 80+ F degree weather. The hardshell was quite firm with a spot on cookie butter flavor without being too sweet. The cornflake streusel was a pleasant surprise that was a crunchy and scrumptious treat on top of the soft serve. They have a few tables outside of it that are mainly in the shade. It's right next to the 3Parks wine store. People are allowed to get wine and snacks from next door and enjoy it on the patio with some refreshing soft serve. A great option for a friendly meet-up, relaxed first date or afternoon leisurely treat. Just go and enjoy!
