This cute place sits right in the middle of Colony Square; across from IPIC. The setup of the cupcakes is so cute and organized and labeled so nicely. The host was able to give me great suggestions and other menu items. Packed my minis in a nice little box. If ever in the area, please visit. I'll be back.
Randomly stopped here on a Saturday afternoon. It's in a little shopping center with free parking. I see some of the reviews mention Colony Square; the location I went to was further up Peachtree north of SCAD. They have lots of flavors and two sizes of cupcakes. They also sell the day-old items at a discount. There only seemed to be one person working but they were super nice and helpful. Before leaving, I saw a sign that said it was woman of color owned, which It was so hard to decide, so I got a day-old mini Chocolate Salted Caramel and a day-old regular size Chocolate Cream Throwback cupcake. They were still so moist and actually tasted chocolatey! So many times chocolate cakes and cupcakes don't actually taste like anything. The frosting was so yummy and the ratio of frosting to cupcake was perfect to me. I used to love Hostess cupcakes so I was really excited to try their take on it. My gf got a mini day-old Red Velvet and a regular Creme Brulee. She's not a big frosting person, so I had to eat half of the frosting on her Red Velvet, which I didn't complain about. She liked both but felt like the frosting was too sweet. I rarely go out for cupcakes so I can't really compare. The prices seemed okay for a once in awhile treat, especially since they were so moist and flavorful. I def want to go back and try other flavors! I've been telling everyone to go here.
I took a risk ordering specialty cakes from Cupcakin but I loved the key lime cupcake I've had previously. I ordered a 9 inch chocolate raspberry and a 6 inch red velvet cake along with an assortment of mini cupcakes. I had to exchange texts with a California staff member who handles custom orders, but the person was very responsive. The 6 inch cake is surprisingly tall although it's small. I wish I had gotten the red velvet in the larger size. Everyone loved it. I think it might be the best I've ever had. Both cakes were very moist, but the chocolate raspberry one could have used more filling. There also seemed to be Oreos baked it one of the layers which I wasn't expecting. I purchased my own fresh flowers which the cake decorator placed.
The chocolate chip cookie from Cupcakin' Bake Shop really made my day! Soft, fresh, and baked perfectly. You can truly taste that everything is made in-house, and the pastry selection makes it even harder to choose just one treat. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in Colony Square and craving something sweet.
It's a blessing that I have to get on the congested 400 to get to this place. Their cupcakes are simply divine. The frosting to cake ratio is perfect and the cake is moist and delicious. Some of the cupcakes have filling inside which are truly spectacular. My favorite cupcake is actually their gluten-free cupcake.
One of my friends got these for a party and I'm absolutely in love with these cupcakes! My favorite was the carrot cake -- delicious and you can see little pieces of carrots in there. Feels healthy so guess you should buy a couple
Cupcakin' is a small shop in Colony Square that offers up some big time cupcakes. In addition to being delicious there is an artistry to their frostings and toppings so they can fairly be called gourmet cupcakes. They offer a variety of flavors and a mix of filled and un-filled cupcakes. Prices are commensurate with the quality so you can easily spend over $10 for a pair of cupcakes, though they typically have day old cupcakes available that are still quite good for a nice discount. Service is through a large open air counter if the weather is good though there is a small counter inside as well. I picked up a pair for my wife and I for Valentine's Day (see photos) and they were a big hit. If you want to treat yourself or add a gourmet ending to a special occasion, give Cupcakin' a try.
They only had two vegan flavors: Chai and Red Velvet. Pretty disappointing. The icing on the cupcake was separating and the cupcake itself was too moist, too soft, and not firm to stand up. The flavors were good but the outcome was just not it.
I had to try the two other flavors I saw previously when I first looked at the website but I waited to late on that day. Oreo Cupcake is out of this world delicious and the Vanilla Cupcake is something serious! I ordered through Uber Eats on 8-31-2025.
Stopped by while in the area for lunch for my daughter's birthday and we had to stop by and get a few cupcakes. We ordered birthday cake, vanilla salted caramel and summer berry. They have good flavor and sweet which I like. The only thing I don't love is paying to park. It's a cute place with good places to eat and definitely stop in and get a cupcake.
Sorry about the melted icing on the picture. The cupcakes were probably some of the best cupcakes I've ever had. They're not skimping out on quality ingredients. The service was ok and they didn't have slices of cake but the cupcakes were really good.
Left the movies to run into this wonderful treat, staff was very pleasant, I was between two cupcakes so I asked his opinion and went with the passion fruit cupcake. Moist cake, buttery frosting and filling that wasn't too sweet, it was perfect, easily my favorite dessert I had during this trip to Atlanta

I love Cupcakin!!! My friend introduced me to Cupcakin in Oakland and I've been hooked ever since. They have the fluffiest, sweetest, perfect cupcakes and so many flavors to choose from. I ordered the red velvet, salted caramel, bourbon vanilla caramel, and key lime. I've eaten two out of four and it's so delicious. It was very easy and quick to order. Highly, highly recommend trying them out! read more
I took advantage of the nice weather after my doc appointment on Fri and had lunch at Cava. As I was traveling down Peachtree, I felt my sweet tooth pulling me to turn into a private parking lot. inside, my eyes jumped for joy looking at all the yummy cupcakes displayed. Since it was here for a limited time, I selected the Dubai cupcake. Sooo very delicious with the right amount of frosting. The giver of happiness AKA Cupcakin staff even placed it in a lovely clear packaged bag. Next time I'm in the area I'll be sure to stop in again! 2221 Peachtree Rd location read more

Exceptional flavor in their cupcakes. I'm am in awe! The red velvet is spectacular because of it's creamy and signs red velvet chocolate flavor. The key lime cupcake dare I say it rivals key lime pie from the Florida key's. This is one of those places where foodies come to embrace depth in flavor. read more

Yummy cup cakes, fresh and tasty and it smells good in there. This review is for the location further up Peachtree close to Benihana...not sure why that location will not come up on Yelp read more
These "artisan cupcakes" have to be hands down the best cupcakes I had in Atlanta. So moist and decadent. It's not too sweet, but very pungent with flavor. I started off with the carrot cake, and my taste buds were revenging for more, so I tried the key lime next, and I was enthralled. Have you ever taken a bite of something so delectable you stopped and had to just look at it for a minute like WTH?! Eye balling my next little victim, I had to give it a rest because my waist line wouldn't allow it. Cupcakin has a variety of different flavors that I don't normally see at other bake shops in the metro area. This black owned shop is by of Berkeley California and landed in Colony Square in Midtown. Move over, Camicakes, there's a new kid on the block. In the words of Teddy P. " I think I better let it go. It looks like another cupcake TKO. LOL... Highly Highly Highly recommend when in Colony Square. You're welcome! read more

Okay ya'll let's grab some sweet treats. Perfect for celebrating or any reason really. The Important Stuff First. Parking: EASY AND FREE! Just how we like it. Price: Comparable, in line with other places. Offerings: Great on variety and style Customization: Available with pre-orders Ambiance: Quaint and fresh Now For some foodies tea with Tri. Details: I loved the customer service the clerk was very patient and helpful: I was indecisive but she was knowledgeable and friendly. The quality is very consistent across locations but I feel like this place has a great display and it's in a laid back area of ATL; not great for sitting and eating treats or city watching but you can do that once you get your order and go. Cupcakes are poppin' my favorite flavor is kiwi lime, next I'd say cookies n creme, blueberry lemon, and the Carmel drizzle both on vanilla and chocolate are great runners up. I haven't one I didn't like tho even the red velvet was ok for me and I usually have a strong dislike for that flavor of anything so this is a great testament of how delicious their cupcakes are. Imagine soft warm goodness melting away your troubles as sweet decadence takes over your taste buds! These treats make you forget to feel guilty and leave pocket change for a cold refreshing beverage to wash them down. I grabbed some this time for others to enjoy but next time I'll be back for me. Be sure to check the flavors of the month or season so you catch the good stuff! 10 out of 10. read more
Cupcakin Bake Shop at was a stop after we watched Bad Boys. The worker wasn't too attentive. She didn't explain and flavor. Which was best selling nothing. Nonetheless we ordered two cupcakes. MADAGASCAR BOURBON VANILLA & bourbon peach cobbler. These cupcakes were so moist !!! The frost was nice and light not heavy as regular buttercream. But I will say the bourbon peach cobbler did not taste like a peach cobbler. It was more so like a spice cupcake with a hint of peach in the frosting. Overall I give Cupcakin 4/5 I will return to try other flavors once I'm in Midtown. read more

I went to Cupcakin' today for its opening after someone recommended them as it's their favorite in California. When I walked in, I was instantly greeted even with the amount of people that was coming through. And the line moved quite fast with fresh cupcakes coming out instantly. Once it was my turn, I was helped was the same fast and great service. I bought the carrot cake, bourbon peach cobbler, cookies n cream and Madagascar vanilla. I have tried or should I devoured the carrot cake cupcake. It is sweet but not overly sweet. Nicely put together. Also it is in a great location. As soon as I walked into the center, I saw the shop and couldn't resist but walk in. It was very inviting! I'm glad the place felt welcoming once I entered inside as well. It was very clean and decorated simply but nicely. I will be back! read more

DELICIOUS! The strawberry and peach cobbler were by far the two best cupcakes I've ever tasted! read more
This is my second visit to this cupcake shop, and this time it happened to be raining. Not realizing they may have indoor seating (?), I, along with others, stood in the rain to get our cupcakes. A canopy would be a welcome addition here. That being said, these are the best cupcakes in Midtown and very reasonably priced at $4 each. As someone with dietary restrictions, I appreciate that they sell mini cupcakes too for $2 each--something I rarely see elsewhere. My favorite cupcake is the Vanilla Salted Caramel, followed closely by the Red Velvet. The carryout packaging could use some improvement; the first time I ordered mini cupcakes to go, they were upside down in the box by the time I got home. This is something to consider if you're buying these for a birthday or an event where presentation matters. Overall, I would definitely return. read more

We stumbled across Cupcakin' Bake Shop while killing time at Colony Square and boy are we glad we did. The cupcakes were great and the peach cobbler cupcake had an incredible filling. The vegan cookies and cream cupcake also had a cookie at the bottom which was exactly what gave it a well-earned 5 stars! read more

The peach cobbler mini cupcake was delicious! It was fluffy and flavorful! They had about a dozen different flavors to choose from. The guy behind the counter was friendly and helpful. It is a small shop so there is only a small bench that fits at most maybe 3 people. The shop is located in Colony Square. read more

Hell yes! I've visited twice and here are the reasons why I say "hell yeah" .. - each cupcake was not only flavorful but taste like high quality ingredients were used. The cake was moist and frostings were delightful with being overly sugary. - gluten free options are super important to me and they didn't taste any different in quality from the others! - Atlanta needs more amazing cupcakery action. Right now I love one other for over 10yrs but Cupcakin' stole my heart for some reasons above. Flavor highlights - key lime pie and lemon cream (?) cupcakes were crazy b/c of the various textures experienced. It was a welcome surprise. These are my TOP picks!! - red velvet, bourbon caramel and carrot cake are my other favs! I don't typically like red velvet but this one changed my mind. - chocolate raspberry was tasty but I sooo wanted a smidge more of raspberry filling than what I had. Location is killer b/c Colony Square is filled with food but not sweets so this brought balance. Staff were as sweet as the cupcakes which I appreciate! read more
