It's safe to say window shopping is at its best during the Pandemic and stores are struggling to keep open and compete against online shopping. I LOVE intermix. I've been a customer since I first bought a skirt at the Boston store in 2006. They have amazing collection, the buyers know what they are doing and when I needed a pant for a work trip which they didn't have my size in store (I was going to travel to Brazil it was a Friday and I was leaving Monday night) they did send me the item in time. I was impressed with their customer service and how the sales manager was really helping me- not trying to upsell. I bought in one day a winter work wardrobe. And I've used every piece except for one. I love intermix and intermix online. They carefully curate their items and the quality is fantastic. They have prime fabrics at reasonable prices. read more

The staff is snooty and inattentive. While I bought a shirt there today, it was a terrible experience due the overall snobby vibe. I would have bought more if I felt comfortable in the store. The leather jacket they sent me was a little damaged (shame since I actually liked it a lot!). I wanted to make an exchange but the answer is no. There is the strong feeling that two customers at the store are worth taking care of, and everyone else (who may only be interested in one or two items) is deserving of little/no attention. I was a new customer. I added my email to thier list in order to get an initial discount. It was never emailed to me, didn't go to spam either. Had to follow up with customer service for it. Then I purchased a $350 shirt online that was 40% off. A few days later I received the wrong shirt and size. It was all wrinkled up in a UPS envelop with a janky piece of tissue around it. Horrible presentation for a retailer charging those prices. Called CS and they said I had to buy the shirt over again online. They couldn't correct the mistake and just send me the right one. When you're spending almost $200 for a shirt it should be the highest and best experience possible. They were very unhelpful and now I have to wait weeks for a refund from the initial purchase that was their mistake. The customer service person blamed the LA store. Said a "clerk" must have mixed it up. Then they told me to call back the next day to see if I could get the correct shirt sent. Totally ludicrous for a high end retailer specializing in online purchases. I'm returning the wrong shirt and NEVER shopping at Intermix again. Poor service, over priced clothing, incompetent oversight of online purchases, and terrible experience especially when they are the ones who make the mistakes. read more

My opinion is not regarding to the physical store, it is about how intermix treat their customers after sale. I bought an item for 400 and a week later it became 259, I called customer service for a price match. The lady hang up on me so I called again the same lady pick up, she treated me like I am a super annoying customer and told me no, you will not get a price match, there is no where else to call, if you write an email you will get the same response......it is wrong that you mark down sale at such huge percent in such short term and don't accept price match from customer, it is more wrong how you treat your customers! read more

I enjoy all the different types of fabrics and styles and especially ALL the bright, vibrant colors... I work around the corner and enjoy going there to browse and sometimes get a little pick me up from a day that just drags on.... Although there are lots of things to buy, I haven't found a piece that I absolutely will die for since SHOPPING here burns a big hole in your pocket. When this Intermix location first appeared on Madison Avenue, I wondered if they had picked this particular spot because there's a bus stop DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF IT. Whenever I'm on an uptown local bus I have to restrain myself from getting off early to step into this store. They certainly stock a ton of designers, and I like how they have a separate shoe section off to the side of the clothing (other Intermixes seem to have the shoes randomly scattered throughout). Its mostly clothing, but they also have shoes, bags, swimwear and accessories. Everything is always neatly hung and orderly, which makes browsing much easier, and they tend to keep similar items together. The problem with this location is the clientele - you tend to encounter all the UES stereotypes that I try to avoid. Older women who, because of either their trainer, plastic surgeon, BOTH or weird sense that they can dress WAAAAY younger than their actual age go here to try on skimpy items and make me feel uncomfortable, and they bring their daughters too! Spoiled brats, pre-teens to twenty-somethings that mooch off their parents, also frequent this location. This also leads to service that's, well, less than desirable. The staff ranges from nice to pushy to snooty, and I generally feel like I'm either being ignored or I'm wasting their time (which maybe I am since I rarely buy anything, but TOUGH. Treat the customer right!). Items are EXPENSIVE, so unless you have a bottomless wallet walk in here ready to be disappointed. read more

I would not recommend buying Intermix sale clothing on line. I purchased a skirt on sale using their sizing guide. When it arrived, I couldn't even wear it because it was way too big. When I called and tried to just exchange it for my right size (I was not trying to return - I respect the no return policy) I met with robotic responses and lame suggestions like "well, buy it in a smaller size, but we don't guarantee a refund on the original skirt". WTF. When I insisted on speaking to a manager, they said they would pass it on and have someone call me 24-48 hours. Guess what- you know it never happened. read more

The items looked like they had been worn before or drudged up from some dustbin. I've seen second hand clothing in better condition. Doesn't even deserve one star. I purchased a tank top from their website that broke after one wear. Went to the Madison ave Intermix location to see if they could repair it. Encountered a beyond rude and snotty sales associate who first suggested that I pay to have a tailor repair it since "the tank top didn't cost that much anyway." She then suggested that it was my fault the top broke and claimed there was "nothing" she could do about it. Shouldn't a company that believes it's appropriate to charge $80+ for a cotton tank top stand by the quality of its product for more than one wear? Spend your money elsewhere. read more

I always feel smokin' in my clothes from Intermix! This is the FIRST place I'll go when I need a hot outfit for a party, event, or just want to pick up some quality basics. Especially during sale season. It's nice because the store isn't huge, there's just a nice variety of quality pieces to choose from. You could go somewhere boring like French Connection or Club Monaco...or you could get something hot and highly fashionable from Intermix. You will also never feel like you'll see a million people in your outfit. The buyers do a good job pulling together the hottest styles of the season. The staff is friendly at this location and good at suggesting outfit combinations. The price is a bit high, but the clothing is quality. Everything I've bought here has lasted me for ages, and are the clothes I wear most often. I get compliments on almost everything I've bought here. If you get onto the mailing list, they will send you random $50 gift cards around the holidays, and alert you to secret sales. They have a nice selection of the newest jean styles and some lovely Herve' Ledger dresses. You might have to hide your receipts from you boyfriend, but he'll certainly tell you your ass looks hot in your new jeans. I'm giving it only 4 stars because I don't feel like their clothes are quite edgy enough for my taste. I wouldn't get my whole wardrobe from this store. I love the store and the merchandise, but they need to rethink their online store. It's not possible to exchange merchandise. If you bought the wrong size, you need to return it and then buy the same item in a different size. If the item happens to be on sale, it's not returnable so you are stuck with something that doesn't fit you. I understand a "final sale" policy at the store, but not online where you have to guess which size might work since every brand fits differently. It feels like a rip off. You are paying to try something on and hoping it'll fit. If it doesn't, trying it on may cost you a lot $$$$ read more

I used to like intermix a lot for their selection, you just go there and leave all trendy and stylish, and get the whole look in one place, however it has changed, the prices of the selected pieces are higher, they don't do cash refund which is very bad for who's visiting, and the worst part are the snotty girls that work there, specially the cashier one, they seem like they wanted to be in your place shopping and not working, so they wanted to feel like they are more than you so they can feel better about themselves, that's just the impression I got from them, and also in my opinion they might be scaring customers away, too bad for their business, unless they don't mind selling and letting customers go because of a bunch of girls, or perhaps bad training or just the style they are going for. read more

We know the price point in this store is outrageous but we also know that intermix has an amazing selection of clothes, jewelry, and bags AND we also know Intermix has a pretty good end of season(s) sales, HOWEVER I recommend that you NEVER buy the exclusive intermix clothing line ridiculously cheaply made, the sizes are way off the charts and the stitching is as if I sewed the clothing, and I am no seamstress or tailor. one of my favorite boutiques. they carry a great selection of apparel, shoes and accessories. staffs in all intermix locations are usually friendly. they also have great semi annual sales and markdowns go as low as 70 percent.
