I only wish that I had used Sam in my original inspection.! Extremely professional, experienced and responsive to all the needs that I had regarding my situation. I had multiple concerns regarding my roof leaking, asbestos duct, work, and potential asbestos in the popcorn ceiling. I had been told by my previous inspector when I bought the house eight months ago and the real estate agent there was absolutely no asbestos in this house, because it was built in 1981. Sam confirmed that I do have Asbestos in my ductwork and he also told me that the damage to inside my house was caused by an aging roof and more specifically that the underlayment was rotting. He worked with me on the price and reviewed everything with me going over all of my concerns. I'm usually cautious to leave such a negative review, but I chose Interlink based on the excellent ratings and great communication before the inspection. A home purchase is a big decision and the inspection is such an essential part. My realtor noted that the inspection seemed more cursory than they usually are and the inspection report was missing a lot of details. Sam kept saying "you're doing major renovation, right?" as if to justify not being as thorough in the inspection. Well, with an okay that major elements (plumbing, electrical, and main roof) were in good order, we went ahead with the purchase. On the day of closing, I noticed there were water bubbles on a wall that had a warped panel during the inspection (this wasn't even mentioned in the report). Turns out, there's a leak. The wall heater also has some peeled wallpaper that the repairman immediately pointed out was probably an improperly sealed vent. This wasn't even noted in the inspection report. What really made me write this review is the fact that today, the repairman found a duct taped and leaking pipe in the crawl space. How did the inspector not see duct tape? More, on the garage, which is admittedly in rough shape, there was just general commentary to get rid of it/replace the roof whereas noting existing water damage would have helped us better negotiate with the sellers and avoid an unexpected emergency repair.
