It's the little details that really up the quality! Jina did such an amazing job with the cut color and styling--very meticulous and professional--and the girl who washed my hair (I think her name was Iris) was great too. She really got in there with the scalp massage and they give a little eye shield so water doesn't splash into your eyes when the hair is being washed. Great spot!

You claim your team is 100% experienced, yet during my appointment, your staff admitted they had never done this type of work before. One even said they would like to practice on a mannequin, but was never able to so why was I being used for practice while paying for a professional service? That felt completely unfair. When I went to pay, I saw an online discount, but the staff denied it and said it was no longer valid, even though it was still being advertised. That felt dishonest. If the extensions were installed properly and tied tightly as you claim, why would I be missing so many strands when I removed them shortly after? They shouldn't have just fallen out if they were secure enough for daily wear. To make matters worse, I heard Jessica, the boss, instructing staff to work on trying to get their bad reviews removed. That speaks volumes about where their priorities really are. I hope future customers get the honest, professional service they're paying for.

My sisters and mom have been coming pretty regularly and are happy with their haircuts so I swung by to get a simple wash & cut. I walked in on a week day around 12:30-1 pm or so, without making a prior appointment. I mentioned that I had to be at a doctor's appointment by 2pm, would it be possible for them to fit me in for a haircut? They said it was doable. They were nice and thorough with washing my hair and I ended up having my hair cut by Kenny. My Mandarin Chinese is just so-so and maybe because of that they thought I could speak Cantonese haha (I do not). They offered to speak to me in English but I was like no no, let me use my mediocre Mandarin but we were able to communicate just fine lol. I was unable to judge how well they can communicate in English, for anyone who might not speak Mandarin. On that note, I'd recommend coming prepared with reference pictures! My hair length was to my chest, like maybe mid chest length and very thick. I asked for my hair to be cut about shoulder length and every time I ask this at any salon, hair stylists are always like, are you sure you want to chop off that much at once? So I conceded and had it cut a bit below shoulder length so that I could still tie my hair up in a tiny ponytail. In addition to the cut, I asked for my hair to be thinned quite a bit (imagine Hagrid level of hair, I kid) as well as a slight side bang. Just in case, I came prepared with reference pictures and showed Kenny my reference pics along with my requests before he started cutting. Kenny was pretty efficient in cutting & even styled my hair nicely before the time I had to leave by. I've paid much more elsewhere for about the same simple haircut so the prices at Hair 101 are very fair. I think my sisters usually pay base price $30-35 for a wash & cut but my base wash & cut price was $40. It could be due to the thickness & length of my hair (my sisters have thinner hair) or perhaps the person cutting my hair? My sisters said they usually have their hair cut by a lady named Even at the salon & are happy with her cutting skills as well. There's a bathroom down the hall that you can ask for the bathroom key at the desk. I paid in cash & was on my merry way in time for my appointment. Although I did ask Kenny about how busy it usually is and he mentioned that they tend to get a lot busier in the afternoons so I must have gotten lucky right before a busy period. If you're worried about waiting, I'd say make an appointment ahead of time if coming at a busy time. Overall I'm pretty happy with how my hair turned out and the price of my service, I rec! The salon is on Main Street, closer to Northern Blvd and I think on the 2nd floor.

I had the pleasure of sitting in Charlie's chair today. Spring is here and I wanted to lighten my hair. My brown color was faded and needed some life. Charlie took the time to ask exactly what I wanted. I showed him several photos of the colors I've had in the past, and asked his opinion on what I should do and how light I should go. At that point, he brought out an artillery of swatches from every color family and every shade available. He patiently went through each different color level, and placing the swatch near my own hair, we decided on what base, highlight, and gloss he would use. He went into detail about my own hair's current condition and what colors it would pull, and made very good suggestions on what to do and what not to do. I have never had someone work so meticulously and carefully with color on me. I never felt rushed through or like a nuissance. Very easy to see this was a professional colorist who had it down to a science. I was beyond impressed! Another staff member by the name of Stephanie removed the foils from my hair and shampooed me. She was very sweet and attentive to me. Charlie suggested that I use an Awapuhi oil treatment because my hair was damaged and the condition of my scalp was dry. Stephanie applied this treatment and I then sat in a heating chair for 20 minutes. 10 minutes into sitting in the chair, another employee came and offered me a complementary cappuccino and pastries. Really? I've been to other salons, this place is just different! A different vibe, and a Happy Place to be!! Charlie applied what he called a gloss toner, which completed my look. I could tell even with my hair wet that the color was beautiful. My hair was blown out and it looked AMAZING!!. The texture of it was different. I don't know if it was the color or the treatment he used, but the dry, damaged, dull hair that I walked in with, now looked healthy, soft, and had so many different tones of gold, honey, caramel, brown, and strawberry. The color is EXACTLY what I wanted and I LOVE it. Cannot say enough good things about this place. The entire staff is so nice. Even the other customers sitting next to you getting their hair done are very friendly. Again I will say the best part is going to pay. I would've easily spent over $300 anywhere else for an almost 4 hour job and the amount of work done to me. It was nowhere near that. The prices are very reasonable, the quality of the products and professionalism of the staff is Top Notch!! The hardest part is making the appointment & deciding whose chair to sit in. Finding a hair stylist that is not only talented but understands my vision has been the greatest struggle in my hair journey over the years. It wasn't until I came to Intercession Salon Spa that I found my dream stylist, Nicole Rolleri. After seeing her work on instagram I was so excited to let her take a shot at helping me achieve my hair goals and let me tell you, she did not disappoint. I was able to walk away from her chair feeling the most confident I have ever felt about my hair. Prior to starting, she made sure that we had a mutual understanding about what I wanted, how she was going to do it, and what she felt was appropriate for my hair based on her vast knowledge and experience. It is really important to me that there is full transparency between client and stylist so her willingness to explain everything, rather than just say "okay" and do it, was SUPER appreciated. Im telling you all right now... she gave me, my mom, and my sister the best hair cuts we have ever received in our lives. I cannot speak highly enough about this woman and trust her with my whole heart! It definitely helps that she is so kind, open, AND to top it all off she cares about accessibility and affordability. Thats how you know this is more than just a pay check to her. This is her passion. You can stop spending hundreds on mediocre haircuts and go see Nicole. I've been going to Melissa for my hair for almost 14 years, following her from other salons. She is great with cut, color and highlights. She is also great with updos for any special occasion. She is very experienced and I always come out trilled by the results. She usually asks you what you want to have done, but is good with making suggestions and working with you if you are looking to try something different or want a new look. She only works on Fridays and Saturdays, but will try to accommodate you as needed. The prices at Intercession are fairly comparable to other salons in the area. I do wish the salon was open later on Friday nights as they close by 6:30pm, but overall the staff is really nice and I will continue going there as long as Melissa works there. read more

If you know me, you'll know how picky I am with who touches my hair. Coming to this salon has to have been the best decision I made in awhile. The moment I walked in I was welcomed and seated immediately! Barely any wait time. I was scheduled with Nicole (@written_incolor) who went through an entire consultation with me about my goals with my hair. She went in depth with detail as to what would be the best fit! She's SO knowledgeable and passionate and wants to make sure she gives you your dream hair. I have extremely curly hair and I wanted to do the big chop AND WE DID. I use Intercessions as my regular Hairdresser. But I also just used them for my wedding and couldn't be happier. My bridesmaids, our mothers and I all got our hair and makeup done. Everyone loved their hair and makeup. I worked solely with Lisa who is amazing. She listened to what I wanted and made me look better than I could have imagined. My makeup lasted beautifully all night long. My hair looked great as well. My bridesmaids all got updos that were slightly different but they all went together. I had an appointment with Lisa this past Friday for an updo because I was going to a wedding. I usually go to another salon but my current hairdresser was on vacation so I googled some good places and saw that Lisa was highly recommended so I took a chance and went for it. As soon as I sat down in the chair Lisa made me feel very comfortable and asked what I wanted. I showed her a picture and she got started right away since I have alot of hair and it is very long. I went here this past weekend. I had dyed my hair and it came out black, much darker than my natural brown. I called and made an appointment to get the black removed. I had never been to this salon before and took a chance. I had read many reviews on yelp and this salon had the best reviews in my neighborhood. Anthony did my hair, he was amazing! My hair is back to my natural color after removing the black and redyeing it my natural color. Everyone at the salon was very helpful and very nice. I have been going to Intersession Salon for over 5 years and the best haircut, color and makeup was done by Lisa! She is amazing! She is very understanding and listens to what you want. I love going to intercession, Melissa is awesome I don't even need to say anything she knows what color to put in my hair all I have to do is sit and she knows exactly what to do whether it's going lighter or darker. She cut bands that are so short they won't go behind my ear and gave it one long layer. Needless to say it looks like a mullet. On top of absolutely hating my haircut and being reminded of how silly I look every-time I look in the mirror I made the mistake of telling her what I do and she charged me more then she ever has. Later she offered to attempt redeem one of her mistakes by giving me face frame layers like I asked for. Since she cut my bands so short and so much of the hair I would not be able to get that affect so I declined. Even though I hated it I gave her a good tip but I will never be back.

2 stars because at least the staff was friendly…read more I came in asking for natural-looking golden caramel highlights with a noticeable pop of color. Instead, I left with a white-yellow blonde balayage and harsh money pieces that looked nothing like what I requested. The haircut I received was also noticeably uneven. I ended up going to a different salon the very next day to have my hair corrected. Another major disappointment was the pricing. The salon's website quoted $240 for a haircut and full head of highlights, but I was ultimately charged nearly double because my hair was supposedly "long and thick." In reality, my hair is only mid-length and very thin. Throughout the appointment, I felt there were multiple attempts to upsell me. At one point, Meri, who did my haircut and highlights, tried to sell me Redken shampoo and said, "If you can afford it." I found this comment unprofessional and inappropriate. No customer should be spoken to that way. To make matters worse, Meri later posted edited, FaceTuned photos of me and my hair on her Instagram, which did not accurately reflect the results I received. Overall, I would not recommend this salon to brunettes looking for a natural summer transformation. I left extremely disappointed with both the service and the final result. Did Magic sleek but hair was definitely not as silky or smooth as when I've had it done before at…read moreanother salon. Hair stylist was very rough on my head when trying to blow my hair dry with the magic sleek in. Scalp was very tender for at least 3 days after. I was surprised there was an unpleasant odor even after washing which I did not have the first time I did magic sleek. I've only experienced this odor with keratin treatments. I hope the treatment will at least last for some time as my first time at the salon was for keratin which only lasted about 5 weeks. UPDATE The magic sleek did not take, my hair is not flat or smooth as results should be. Posted photos of my hair a week after the treatment in slight humidity. Hair is frizzy and wavy. And the odor lasted 2 weeks which is not normal for magic sleek. I reached out directly per the salons reply and unfortunately it's been 5 weeks with no resolution. They acknowledged initially then after two weeks I followed up again and was told sorry I'll get back to you in 2 days after I speak to the stylist. It's now 3 weeks later and they have not replied back. I need to get my hair redone and this is a costly treatment, not to mention not something I want to do to my hair again only a short time after. I have requested a refund as I did not hear back about a resolution. I would not recommend for Keratin or magic sleek. And now very disappointed in managements customer service.
