I prefer a stronger massage as I enjoy deep tissue massages, hers felt a bit more like a relaxation. Also, she didn't massage my chest and stomach (but probably would if I had thought to ask and not just assume everyone did). She also does pre-natal. I recommend you give her a try if you are looking for a massage and want to try different places before you find the right masseuse for you.

She is the only therapist I fully trust with my condition and the only place I go regularly. I'm willing to accept that they can care for others, while still caring for me. Trust me, they know more about your body than you do, especially how it is all connnected. Today, I had a sore shoulder from tossing the frizbee constantly for my dog. Sure, I got the deep tissue treament for my shoulder... but also for that musle below my thumb! I've been to massage therapists for 40 years and I've also been to a lot of physical therapists. Julie and Kara have done more for me than all the others combined. They are both superheros to me!

We highly recommend Erika, for three reasons: (1) Erika is very knowledgeable. She has a serious background in physical therapy and sports medicine. You can go to her for a chichi massage if you want, but she offers much more. She can help you recover from injuries, reach your athletic goals, and otherwise improve yourself. After each session, she sends you a set of stretches to help address your condition (whatever it may be), which tides you over until the next massage. I went to her with a stiff neck and plantar fasciitis, and she has helped me make great strides with both. (2) Erika is very strong and has great technique. I'm 6'3" and 220 lbs., and have super tight neck and shoulder muscles from my desk job and from weightlifting. When I first met her, I thought: "There's no way." But then she wrestled those knots in my neck and traps into submission. Even more impressive, she did something to the bottom of my foot to make my plantar fasciitis virtually go away. (3) Erika is very nice. She is kind and personable and professional. Her massage room is a quiet little sanctuary, and my wife and I both look forward to being on her table.

I have been getting massaged for well over 20 years. I used to have a very steady and wonderful MT…read morewhen I lived in the East Bay, but upon making the 916 my residence, I had been searching for the best match for a massage therapist locally. Upon searching yelp to find businesses and feedback to select the best match, I was certainly excited to try a business that not only specialized in the services needed, but also has a name with, "magical hands" you can't go wrong with that title, right. . . I feel like I struggle with trying to find the best match for bodywork services. I have grown in my ability to be more assertive and communicate what I am looking for, but, massage is similar to the process of finding a new hair stylist. Not everyone is going to have the right technique, skills, or even personality. One of my reasons for not writing a review for this business sooner is that, quite honestly, the massage I received was forgettable. I had literally almost forgotten about this moment in time, until just this month, July 2025, I received a generic email from the business name and it was basically like, your birthday is coming up, blah blah, feel free to book an indulgence massage. - - - There was a mild personal issue that came up between my wife and I just before our scheduled times which delayed the massage start initially, and I had communicated that we could discuss rebooking, paying any late fees, etc with Alicia.... but she said it was fine to proceed with our services (one after the other). With that discussed, let me talk about how this magical handed massage went for me personally. - - - The first thing I noticed while laying face down in the cradle and starting out with the massage is how much ego came into play with this MT. Why is that important, you ask? Because when a massage therapist feels as though their combined experience and "intuition" leads to them giving the impression that they know what is best for the client, that is when issues arise. I will admit, one of my own weaknesses that I continually work on is having the confidence to speak up about issues during a massage. Unfortunately, when a massage doesn't match the clients needs, they should address the feedback constructively and hopefully take that feedback to create better experiences in the future. I really had to think and rewrite my intentional review to reflect on what was missing during the service. A review should be a representation of the actual experience, positively or negatively, and not a personal response. I had mentioned that I wanted swedish and I enjoy a light movement, known as effleurage, which basically just translates to I like a soft massage, with light strokes, often using just palms and to feel restful. Alicia kept mentioning how she would "get in there" to basically work on any knots she could feel. I didn't come in for deep tissue, heavy pressure points, or sports massage. Even after communicating that I didn't need that extra pressure, just keep it to a Swedish style, she continued to be heavy handed with her strokes. My biggest observation in all of this is to mention that Alicia with all of her experience lacks the ability to listen to each person's needs. But for new clients, trying to find a local massage therapist in town with a great reputation and tons of experience, I look for that honest written feedback online to make my scheduling decision. For these reasons, I wanted to share my own experience with Jardins Magical Hands so that others reading this can make their own informed decisions with personalized results. Thank you for reading!

6 Stars Lisa Souza,…read moreCMT, has performed her stellar massage therapy in San Francisco and also at her Sacramento studio for many years. I found Lisa through her incredible Yelp reviews listing her practice in the City of Sacramento. If any of my readers has followed my reviews of massage therapists, you will know that I am a connoisseur of the bodywork arts. I, myself, am a graduate of one of the best massage colleges in the country and worked as a highly rated, certified massage therapist [CMT] at a day spa in Sonoma County for a time. I am also a metaphysician and a human detector of fine energies manifesting in this plane of existence. What this means in actuality is that I not only value outstanding technical skills, knowledge, and experience, I place great importance on intuition, compassion through touch, and metaphysical gifts. In Lisa's own website, throughthelayers.com, she describes an aspect of her work as "multi-dimensional massage." Whether or not you understand this---you and your body will definitely feel this when you receive bodywork from Lisa. I ran across a very gifted CMT/ANMT a couple years back here in Sacramento. Like Lisa, she was eminently competent with technical skills, deep education and training, and a powerful intelligence to back up her obvious talent. However, what elevates Lisa Souza to a higher plateau is her maturity as an adult, her sensitivity and willingness to be responsible for her emotions, and her own lovely level of mental health and overall well being. Revealing these qualities might be a bit personal and I hope Lisa views my compliments as a testament to her awesomeness as an extraordinary human being . . . because she is to me. The world needs souls like Lisa to give their gifts to humankind to support us, to help us learn from life, and especially in Lisa's case, to heal us as we battle each day at a time, outside and inside our bodies. I received my sixth massage from Lisa yesterday and I can attest that she "dynamically inspired creative wellness from within" me, yet again. Thank you, Lisa Souza, CMT. I feel blessed to know you. She is trained traditionally and also uses intuitive abilities to release tension from the body and treats with a holistic perspective. It might sound funny, but I am actually thankful I had my acute neck/back problem because I was able to find out about her and find out how REAL healing is done and tell my family and friends so she can help them too. I walked in to my first appointment stiff and feeling like I had the back and neck of an 80 year old and walked out as my flexible 38 year old self again - and after my second appointment, I feel like I am back in my 20s, especially after she resolved my TMJ issues. She truly does care about getting people feeling better. She knows she is able to solve her customers' problem and she really works hard to make sure you are feeling better after your first session. She does let you know it is best to be consistent and come back as she recommends, which is not a way to make money, but how you actually get the customer to heal properly. Listen to her advice to take the epsom salt baths. And know that putting down a deposit to hold your appointment is legit and not a scam - a lot of small business have last minute cancellations that hurt their business and this is a way of protecting their business so they can keep helping people. Look at her website and see how she is truly striving to create a difference and help people with their emotional challenges too, which is how pain starts in the first place. I'm truly grateful to have found out about Release the Pain and I just wish everyone can experience how healing is really done.
