I came here with my wife on Sunday (Mother's Day) at 7pm. It was our first time here, because the other massage places that we frequent were all booked up, and for good reason. So we called this place and got a couples massage by lucky chance (or so we thought). The waiting room is very small, like there is a 3 person couch, but if one person was sitting on there, it's awkward to sit next to them, and you'll be standing in front of both the entrance door and the door to the massage hallway. The massage rooms are very small, and even though we got a couples massage, we were in separate rooms but had a sliding door open between the rooms. Which didn't help us in anyway, but helped the massage therapist talk to each other. And there was no music playing to drown out their conversation. I felt my particular masseuse was initiating the talking because it seemed like she didn't want to massage and was just waiting for her day to end. (Not sure what language, but I'm guessing it was a dialect of Chinese). Her massage was as hard as a 6 year old child. I know this because I have a 6 year old I would ask to squeeze my shoulders as hard as she can. And Yes, I did request my massage to be "hard", because she asked in the very beginning. During the first 15 minutes, I was hoping her initial massage was a warmup for her hard pressure that never happened. I did feel her elbows and forearms on my shoulders, but it's equivalent of my 6 year old using her elbows on my shoulders. I'd imagine my masseuse was a 70 pound old lady. My assumption was close when I turned around. Not knowing the language she was speaking to her co-worker, I could get the impression she was just saying/counting down the time of when the hour is up. After I was dressed and stepped outside, she rushed over asking for a tip; I was shocked because we both know how terrible of a job she did, but my wife is nice enough to give her a generous cash tip. The reason why this review is two stars is because my wife had a great massage by Penny. I didn't bother getting my masseuse's name because I know I wouldn't go back, and had no intention of writing this review. (Because I really don't like to write negative reviews), but as a community member, I feel I should pass on my experience. I had some terrible knots in my back and did a walk-in. The masseuse shouldn't really be called a masseuse. A rubber of skin is probably more accurate. She rubbed so much with no technique that it felt as though I was going to have friction burns on my back. I finally asked her to stop short of the allotted time after repeatedly asking for her to focus on the knots. I was asked to pay before the massage began and once I walked out of the massage room, I was asked for a tip. We set up an appointment beforehand. We arrived and we're sitting with another man who was also waiting. It's been forever since I had a massage but she made sure I was feeling great when I left. She can definitely get deep tissue for those that like that. I feel like this place is a hidden gem, because I never knew this great business existed until a few days ago. I needed a massage with the right amount of pressure but not felt like I was getting beaten down, and after my experience here, this is where I'll be going from now on. I first entered to a small room with a couch, then a lady came to bring me back to a room. There was some confusion, because she asked if I'd be paying with cash to which I replied no. She told me to get ready for the massage, but I'm glad I stayed clothed, because a young lady walked in asking if I'd be paying with card. She had a small black card reader with her phone and asked for my card, so she can input the total plus tip. Once that was squared away, I removed my clothes, put the purple sheet over me, and the massage began shortly after. The lady who massaged me was nice. She asked if I wanted medium or hard pressure, asked if I was ok sometime during the massage, and she applied hot stones to my body. After I put my clothes back on, she was waiting outside the door with a small bottled water and some candies. This is great value without feeling dangerous (a massage can be sketchy, so this is NOT an area where you should be TOO frugal). You think pampering is only for the bougie? As of this writing, an HOUR LONG deep tissue massage is just $60 pre-tip. The rooms and tables are clean. The music is soft and relaxing. Sometimes conversation from another room or the doorbell can be heard during my massage, but it's never detracted from my experience. One hour here undoes 80 hours of being hunched over my laptop. They will work out knots and go sensitive if a spot is sore. They are skilled and strong massage therapists, and since I really like a deep, acupressure-type massage, I always go here and tip generously. read more

We called ahead to ask if they were available. Once there, it was a little off-putting that they were very straightforward with asking for payment first. I had to tell them myself what I wanted because they did not ask (couples Swedish massage, 1 hour which is $100). The couples room they offered was actually two separate rooms connected by an open door, with the front room a little brighter because it's next to a window and the second room darker, like a regular massage room. They ask how strong you want the pressure to be, as all masseuses typically do. They even used hot stones on both SO and me. My masseuse -- whose name I don't know -- gave me a very thorough massage, from my back, to arms, hands, legs, and feet, and even a little bit of the area above the chest. I've never gotten a massage in that area before. Compared to the last massage I received at Happy Day Spa, this was a lot more relaxing and again, thorough, which I REALLY enjoyed. My SO said his massage was one of his favorites, the only con being his masseuse had to walk out several times to answer phone calls and assist customers coming in. She compensated by extending his massage by 5-10 more minutes. They provide bottled water and little candies post-massage. Overall, we'll probably come back if our favorite massage spot is too busy. My experience with Just Relax was anything but relaxing. Every sound could be heard throughout the whole building. My therapist was in and out of the room several times after starting late. I got maybe 40 minutes of the 60 minutes I paid for. There was no communication from the staff. They were able to accommodate me last minute which I appreciated. I was nervous based on the reviews. They did ask for payment from the get go which I do understand. What if the payment doesn't go through later or whatever. And Bc they process the payment, like all payment machines, it prompts a tip. And it costs $60 for an hour massage. I do think it's a bit high for the ambiance. It's a no frills type of place and the lotion they use is suave or comes out of a suave bottle. My wife and I were in Sacramento for the day while our daughter and her friend were at SacAnime Convention on September 3, 2022. After leaving our daughter and her friend at the convention, we wanted a full body massage. After finding Just Relax Massage on Yelp while shopping at the nearby Ardenfair Mall, I decided to give them a call to see if we could come in on short notice for their couples massage. We were fortunate that Just Relax Massage could accommodate us both. One hour later, we arrived and were welcomed in. There were two rooms connected by an open door where we both took separate beds. It was dimly lit and very relaxing with soothing music. Our masseuses got busy right away and were outstanding, taking care to ask about preferred medium or hard pressure and occasionally asking that we were doing ok. Their techniques were wonderful and very relaxing. Before we knew it, the one hour massage was finished. Their pricing is outstanding too and we were both extremely satisfied with our first experience here! We will return the next time we travel to Sacramento from where we live in Napa.
