My experience there was a little awkward.. Thanks to you beautiful people on Yelp, I already went in knowing the place would look hole in the wall-ish. And I knew she would take my payment up front (which is weird).. But I didn't mind that. I needed a good massage, and the reviews said this was a good massage place. Anyway, when I walked in, the temperature was super cold. It was 10am in January, so that instantly killed my vibe. But I wasn't trippin. I knew when i walked in the massage room, it would be warmer... I was wrong. That room was freezing! And it smelled musty... Maybe because I was the 1st customer of the day, and the room needed to air out?? So I get undressed, lay on the table, and shortly after, the masseuse comes in and she has what I assumed was a portable heater. She plugs it in and this thing was so loud that it drowned out the calming music. And on top of the noise, the air blowing out was slightly colder than lukewarm!!! I had to endure my entire massage freezing. When she started, she spent way too long on the pre-massage stuff. You know how they lightly knead your back, arms, and legs, like how you knead dough when you're baking? Yea, that part. She spent way too much time doing that. Then once the actual massage began, she didn't use any oil!! It was so rough and so hard. I finally made a noise, and she said "oh, too rough? let me get some oil"... WHAT?!! WHY DIDN'T YOU START WITH OIL!?! The rest of the massage was just ok. Nothing I would ever go back for. She spent so much time on my legs, that by the time she got to my feet, she only spent like 2 minutes on each foot. When she left to go get the hot towels to wipe the oil off of me, she didn't even say she was leaving. So that was awkward just laying there wondering where she went. And when she came back with the towels, they were lukewarm. So she basically wiped down my already cold body with cold-ish towels. In conclusion, the lady was friendly, and her massage wasn't horrible. So if you HAD to come here, I'd say sure. But if you have other options, pick the other options. read more

I had been looking for a place to go for a good but fairly inexpensive massage. Sakura had been a place that I had tried eons ago, and had forgotten about. Now I know why. A friend recently offered to have a massage/spa day with me, and apparently it had a Groupon for Sakura. Again, now I know why The place is relatively small, feels relatively seedy, and is relatively not clean. I absolutely felt the need to shower after I left. I'm actually wondering if the therapist/masseuse is licensed. I asked for a deep tissue massage, and by the time it was all said and done, it Felt like I hadn't even been there. The lotions and potions that were used had an odd fragrance to them, and just added to my need to want to take a shower when I was done. I left there feeling uncomfortable unclean. Would I go back? Do not go here. This place is a complete rip off. I called in to Sakura before I went in - and was told to come right away to get a massage. I was happy and told them I wanted a one hour foot massage. The gal who answered told me that would be no problem. When I arrived; I told the same person which massage I wanted; and was immediately upsold from a $25 massage to a $38 massage. She told me the gal who did the $25 foot massages was not in that day. OK, fine.. but that doesn't make sense since it's the same type of massage. I told her that's OK and agreed. She also made me pay up front; which is somewhat strange. The tip line was also zero'ed out so even if I wanted to; I couldn't leave a tip via credit card. She then walked me back and had me lie down on a table and get ready for the massage. The massage itself wasn't that great but when she was finishing up; I knew something was strange. The 60 minute massage I paid for was actually only 40 minutes. When we were wrapping up; the gal kept talking to me, and I was trying to relax with my eyes clothes. NO big deal I am thinking - she is just being friendly. She finished the massage; I got ready to go and get followed out. I thought the lady was being kind but she said, "where's my tip," and I told her, "I didn't get what I paid for and the massage wasn't that good." OK so first things first, Sacramento is known for having the highest rate of sex trafficking massage parlors in the country, so I tried to be very aware of that anywhere I go. I had a bad experience in San Jose California, do not want to repeat frequenting an establishment that is less than savory. This place has all the windows blacked out, blinking sort of Christmas lights in the window, and very inexpensive prices so I was very hesitant for a long time but thankfully for review sites like Yelp I can get the lowdown. I saw there was a few women that gave good reviews, so I was hopeful. I walk in and I am greeted by a regular looking, friendly woman in jeans and a sweater, I make my choice of massage which was an hour, pay the $45 plus $10 tip and get right back into a little room. Nothing fancy or frilly, pretty much bare bones with dim lighting and mellow music. I have to admit, the lady that did my massage did a very good job for someone who likely doesn't have any professional training. She had a few techniques that the pros use like using her forearm, and she was very good about being consistent in both what she was doing and the amount of time spent on each part of my body. Hot rocks and warm towels included. When they say full body massage, they are not kidding. She was very professional, kept me covered under the sheets when she wasn't working on an area, I strip down completely except for my underwear, and when I had to flip over I covered my chest and she placed the sheet over me. So I was comfortable in that regard. I got to give her credit for a good massage, especially for the price. Here's where I got a little concerned,Right when I walk in I noticed there are two round holes in the ceiling on opposite ends of the small room, giving perfect view if that were to be the case of the whole room. I did notice that one of the holes there was light coming through, and from what I could see it was an attic of some kind with foil ducts visible. What I didn't understand was why there would be such a bright light, on, right above a massage room? It just struck me as odd, and feel it's important to mention. I also took pictures and put them in my review. The other thing was a sign on the wall, picture included, it says sexual activity of any kind within the establishment is absolutely forbidden. I was very surprised to see that, probably because they get A lot of gross people wanting more than just a massage. Perhaps it's a safety measure? Let people know upfront that they are not a prostitution parlor? Either way, she did have to leave the room four or five times, very briefly, to answer phones, greet customers coming in and once to grab supplies for me. I heard about four different people come in to the shop, in the hour, out of all four people only one was female. I will definitely go back, but any nudity from taking my clothes on or off will need to be under the sheet for my own peace of mind LOL read more

Did a walk in your on Sunday and Kelly got me right in for a hot stone massage she wasn't able to do the hour because of an appointment she had but later on she was able to due to the appointment being pushed back to a later time. This place deserves NO STARS. I called in for a massage and got an appt for my mother and I after a long day of work. We came in and upon arrival the lady was yelling in my face asking if I wanted to pay by credit card or cash. She said if I pay cash I pay $45 but if I paid by credit card I would be paying $48 (Sounded Shady). I told her I didn't mind paying a little extra because I didn't have cash on me. My mother and I then got our massages and we both felt like we got BEAT UP. I felt super uncomfortable with the massage too. I was being touched in areas I definitely didn't want to be touched. After we finished she grabs the receipt and asks me to tip her. I gave a $4 tip because I didn't have enough money in my account and immediately she yelled and screamed in my face saying, "$4!!!! That's all?, What kind of a tip is this!! $4???" Then she grabbed my mom and I by our arms and kicked us out of her massage place. This was the WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Sakura is a nice, clean storefront massage place that offers a range options, including deep tissue, soft relaxation, hot stone and back walking. I have seen Kitty on a number of occasions and each time has been wonderful. She is very intuitive, so she finds and fixes all of your knots and problem areas. I especially like the way she treats my feet with a good oil rub, light scraping with a plastic tool, followed by a hot towel wrap. The cherry on top is the low price, just $57 for 90 minutes. This is the best spa service if you want: *To be asked to pay up front and be told they don't have change until later. *You want your foot massage done in the "lobby". *Want the masseurs arguing in front of you. *To Strain your neck because the head rest is not adjustable. *Be serviced by a masseurs who keeps rubbing her nose. *Be given tea after the massage served on a tray with a hand-written sign made with a marker that says "TIPS". She was also asking if I had credit card to give a tip, when she did not get her desired tip she then called me cheap for not giving, which is so rude and offensive. This is truly one of the worse massage places I have ever been to for the following reasons: When we called for an appointment, they needed to call me back in an hour or so because they were not sure if someone will be there to provide the service. When we got there, they were 15 mins late in starting. The facility sucks: too bright, disorganized and noisy. It's right next door to a liquor store! I should have known! They will ask for you to pay in advance. When we did they had no change. The massage itself is a big joke, it was NOT relaxing at all because some of the above reasons. I was recommended here from my mother and grandmother a few days after my trip to Japan; If you've flown overseas on economy before, you know it can take a toll on your body. Now I generally look up reviews on Yelp, but with so few, I took my grandmother's word on this and I'm truly glad I did. The place seemed new as it looked clean and spotless. (+1 Star) The atmosphere is great: private rooms, ambient music, dim lighting to help you relax to put your eyes at ease, and even a hydrotherapy table shower if you're the type to want to take a shower before or after your massage. (+1 Star) The most important part, the massage, was exceptional and relaxing. I personally can't take a lot of pressure and it's hard to find someone who can give me that balance of not being painful but still make the massage effective. My masseuse was Kitty and she did an awesome job as all my aches were gone. (+3 Stars) I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a massage! Me and my husband went in for a couple massage, the ad states it was $68. When we got there the lady wanted us to pay first, which threw me off a little. So I gave her $100, $68 for the massage $32 for tip. The massage itself was ok good but as we were getting ready to leave she asked me where was her was tip. I told her I gave you $100 earlier and that included tip. She told me I only have her $80, so I didn't know what else to do but gave her another $20. I purchased a groupon for this service, I made an appointment showed up and presented my groupon voucher. The lady at the desk proceeded to tell me that I should pay cash and request refund from groupon because they charge them too much. I use groupon for several years to try out new businesses to see if I want to continue to use their services. I want to to give them a higher rating, but massages are supposed to be relaxing. They are really nice people and my two friends enjoyed their massages. My massage, however, was interrupted at least 4 times so she could answer the phone or check who walked in the door. It was very disturbing, not relaxing and unprofessional. They were confused when we 3 walked in even though they called us to confirm the reservation. They took 1 of us right away (we were early), and the other 2 had to wait about 20 minutes. I rarely ever do reviews but my experience demanded one. I have had foot pain for over a year now and have gone to many doctors and massage places. At first the staff seemed a bit unorganized, but a few minutes after they got me in and started the massage, I knew they knew what they were doing. She listened to my concerns and worked on all my problem areas. She took all the knots out in my legs and back. This is the first time I've been pain free in over a year. She also gave me advice on what I can possibly do at home when I have foot pain. I've tried a few things and so far no complaints. I will be scheduling another appointment next week!!! PS. I went with my friend who also walked out saying "omg that was the best massage I have ever had!" And the pricing was great as well. read more

Had a serious back and neck ache. Was flying out in 3 hours and needed this taken care of. I called and the had an opening 20 minutes later. Did a 90 minute deep tissue massage. Loved it!! She really did a great job, listened to where it hurt and put in 100% effort the whole time. I'm a bigger guy, and she probably had to put in all 90 pounds of her body weight to work out those knots. It's a "B level" place, meaning it's not a fancy place. However the prices were very reasonable and the therapist I had was awesome. This may be one of those places you need to find the right person and make appointments with them every time. Came here today to pamper my Aunt for her Birthday. 1st time getting a massage for both of us and we weren't disappointed. Made an appointment Friday for Sunday at 11:30AM. Welcomed in and showed to our room right away. The table was comfortable, the room was clean, the music was relaxing and the oils and hot rocks they used were amazing! The ladies here give great massages and the prices can't be beat. I've been coming here for years and have referred many friends and family. They all love it. We have a few out of town guests that make Sakura a stop before heading home!! A few things to keep in mind: 1) This place isn't a fancy spa, but the tables are comfortable, the linens are always clean, and they play soothing music. 2) It's a small business. They don't have a designated front desk person to answer the phone or greet customers so sometimes your massage may get interrupted by a phone call or customer. I came in for an hour massage if you can call it that.it was very hot in there I had to tell them to turn on their ac. Horrible service, first five minutes after starting my massage, someone started doing laundry n u can hear the dryer, then I guess the lady doing laundry was too happy because she started to sing!!!!!! Every time someone opens the front door you can hear the bell, whoever was working at the front desk was really loud, at the end the lady ask me for a tip, but I didn't have cash on me she was mad but they make u pay before u get ur massage! !!
